But my question is, it seems you are still loyal to the Aslan empire. Why would he hire a loyalist to commit piracy and attacks against their own empire? @Tyeal- there is a house rule in effect that if you fail a survival check, you make a second one. Fail the second, it is death otherwise roll as normal.

It isn't a reroll but a second roll. So since you passed the second one, you just suffer the injury and don't die.
