I will keep tweaking my character up to the deadline, but the bulk of his tale has been told. Feedback always welcomed.

Thanks to all for their applications. They have all been fun to read and with 2 weeks to go, please feel free to add to them as I add xtra Lore to this thread. The game forum has been approved and I am working on that in the background so you can be sure that a party will start out in the strange world of Eregold's Northlands. I will take into account the story ideas that you have generated in your applications when making choices.

Lore Update 2:
The Structure of Folk Society The Folk do not function in the same way as Humans do. To a Dwarf, the Law is a given, something that they follow without even thinking. Their creation as Stone Golems to serve the God of Law has led to them having an inherent lawfulness, and an inherent stolidity, which forms the fundamental stone on which their society operates. The is no concept of nobility beyond the Royals, and society is coherent and the Folk share all that they have. The most important Dwarf alive at present is Relin XXV, King of the Relini and Holder of Reginhold. He is the leader of the only one of the Tribes that has a Hold, that is a capital to which the wandering clans can come when they need to. The only other known Tribal leader is Islanne Belendorn of the Baleni, who is known to be alive but does not have a Hold, so cannot be a Queen. When all 7 Tribes have a monarch, they meet as the Council of Rulers to choose a High King or Queen, an event which last happened in the 12th Century of the 2nd Age (some 2500 years ago) just before DurlinHold fell to the forces of the Drow Queen. Each Monarch is served by a Council and the Monarch chooses how many councillors they have, and what roles they hold. A King may allow the creation of Alliances of Clans and approve their leaders. This is how Ori Barkskin became Marshal of the Exemplar Alliance, and why he retains that title. Clans are led by a Council of Elders. There are usually between 3 and 6 elders who elect a Clan Chief and take on particular roles within the Clan. Being an Elder is not due to age; it is due to ability and to the selection of the current Council. The Folk may be led mainly by males, but given that only 5-10% of all Dwarves are female, this is no surprise. Many outsiders consider that Dwarven females are unimportant, but they are the centre of the Folk. All property, apart from that held by the Tribal Monarch, passes through the female line so many of the most powerful merchants, crafters and religious are female. They hold the Folk together by ensuring that their children are properly brought up, and most clans operate a schooling system that starts at age 8 to allow for them to complete their businesses. This regimented life means that the Folk are much more regimented than humans and there is no poverty or unemployment. The Folk work as a unit to keep each other well, and to allow them to focus on the Watch.

Hello! Are you open to experienced 5e players who are new to RPG Crossing? I've done PBP on other sites for a long time. I just registered on RPGx so I still have noob status.
