Is it just me or did the website become unavailable for the past few hours?
At any rate, I have to go write an exam, so I'll finish up afterwards.

Didn't work for me either.

My concept has almost entirely changed while working on it, heh. But I will -actually- have it done today, most likely. I'm still figuring out a bit about the PC.

I will mention, on a related note, that I HATE trying to find pictures for PC's that aren't white human male clerics, wizards, fighters, or rogues.
Actually, I kind of hate finding pictures in general, because it takes forever to find a good one, and it's never really a match for what is in my head.

You seem to have a rather nice image there, Megiddo. Or are the twin swords a problem for your humble staff master?

Though honestly, I'm starting to feel like playing a Jayne Cobb style character. He'd be a lot of fun, but amorality isn't the best in a level 1 hero campaign. He does best around level 4 or 5, when you can really make a specialist.

That image was for my previous concept.
I'm now actually trying to find a very specific image that is a movie still from Dune. I want to use a fremen in ambush robes, blue eyes visible. But I can't find it for the life of me, so I gave up and took a crappy screenshot. There's a reason I prefer exposition to pictures. Imagination is half the point of roleplaying games, and I hate relying on others to furnish a picture that somehow happens to match the vision I have for a PC. The fremen thing isn't remotely perfect, but it's the closest I could figure. Likewise, the picture I was going to use for my scimitar dervish still sucked, compared to what I wanted the PC to look like. Pictures can never do my PC's justice. Well, almost never. I've found exactly one picture in my entire roleplaying career that matched the PC perfectly.

I did find it strange back in Outplay that I was pinned for failing to describe my character's appearance beyond the image I provided. I understand that part of writing is the description of things like that, but I don't care much for the physical side of things. There are entire books that just leave that stuff out, and there are others where you simply forget because the colour of a character's hair is completely irrelevant. By the way, props for Prince of Egypt.
Coincidentally, I'm watching Firefly at the moment. I'm a bit late to the party on that one. Last edited by Muggins; Jan 24th, 2014 at 11:15 AM. |

Next time, find the picture first and then build a character around it. Gets a unique concept and you have a perfect image! Last edited by Squeak; Jan 24th, 2014 at 11:11 AM. |

I have one game related question before I pick my traits, how multi-purpose is initiative in your game/pathfinder in general?
For example, I'm in a room stealing something, I'm surprised when the door opens. Would a high initiative roll allow me to gain a surprise round on them? Likewise, If I were to be "caught" and suddenly turn on my captors. Would an initiative roll high enough allow Virgo to gain the drop? Lastly, I need a new last name. I don't want it to be so... obviously not arabic. I'm thinking I may simply leave the last name as nothing, and have it exposed at an opportune moment.
