Also, the colored text thing is of no consequence. I originally only used it in Roleplay Sample 2 to distinguish the speakers. Then the post seemed uneven, and I really wanted it to be uniform. Edit: App now has a theme song.

I'm pondering whether or not I can manage to consistently stay in present tense for your game, PIG. Most of the other games on this site are past tense, like a kind of storybook, and I'm not sure whether I'd be able to flick that switch quite as easily as I'd like.
Consider my current interest tentative. You may see that Varisian Magus at a later date, or you may not. Last edited by Muggins; Jan 21st, 2014 at 12:54 PM. |

At one point in a game I was in everyone was writing in different tenses, so the DM had everyone write in present tense. I would write a post, forget to make it present, and find my self rewriting it real quick by just changing a few words. That easy. After a while when I got used to it I was able to explore that writing style. lol Yeah, what is the story with the new avatar, Sparky? |

It shouldn't be too difficult. Just think of yourself in the character's situation, not as an omniscient narrator describing what the character did.

Personally, I hate writing in first person, unless it's First Person Narrative.

I DM my games in present tense, Muggins, so it can't be that different from my game, right?

Just for the record, the game will be written in third person present tense.
There will be a Narrative Thread where players can tell a story about their characters for extra XP. Any thing from the past will be in past tense, while things that are happening in-game but need some special attention are written in present tense like in the game. Any of you that don't make the final four are more than free to post stories about their character in that thread as the game goes on. If I need a replacement or guest character then you'll definitely have my attention if you do so. |
