Application/WIP Character Name: Javern Osmaplite Ancestry/Heritage: Mountain Dwarf Class/Order: UA Ranger (Gloom Stalker) 5, Rogue (Arcane Trickster) 7 Background: Soldier Personality Trait 1: I've lost too many friends, and I'm slow to make new ones. Personality Trait 2: I can stare down a hell hound without flinching. Ideal: Independence. When people follow orders blindly, they embrace a kind of tyranny. Bond: Those who fight beside me are those worth dying for. Flaw: I made a terrible mistake in battle cost many lives – and I would do anything to keep that mistake secret. Politics: Careful when you steal; the Nobles hate competition. Favorite saying: It does not matter how slowly you go, so long as you do not stop.   Physical Description Javern has the physical build of a typical dwarf. His movements are strong and simple, yet he has almost a dancer’s touch to his gait; which comes in the form of a slight hop. His voice is gnarled and unwelcoming. Javern has raven blue hair that falls just below his shoulders. He has a large jawline, solid forehead and strong cheekbones that rest within a square shape face. In typical dwarven fashion, he has one central braid that centers on his chin and two smaller braids that fall just below his ears. He has a single scar running diagonally across his hawkish nose with wide nostrils and two parallel scars running beneath his left eye across his cheek to his clean shaven upper lip. His eyes are almond shaped with brownish orange pupils. He emits an aroma of coal smoke forged with onions. He has fiery brownish red skin, marbled with yellowish white dots, covered by the soft natural brown colors of his armor. His torso is protected by a long shirt made up of thousands of interlocking silvery, glistening very fine metal rings. His forearms, back of hands, thighs and shins are protected by separate pieces of armor made with small sized hexagon plates of stone, horn and bone attached to each other by a small thick cord and sewn to a layer of soft leather. Separating his skin from the armor are undergarments matching his stone-grey cloak. On his forearms and thighs are sheaths containing wooden and iron spikes. On his hip is a wide belt that supports two quivers, sprouting colorful fletching of bolts, a solid wooden heavy kite shield, built with arm straps and a center grip, protected by a boss, and a few thick pouches. Quick release straps run from his back over his shoulders and under his arms supporting a backpack loaded with supplies and equipment.   Backstory Javern, originally, comes from the Dwarven Realm of Glen within the Dalelands. He had an unusual upbringing as his family were in the moving business. He traveled throughout the Glen and Dales with his family moving possessions or delivering goods; above ground and below. He learned all aspects of the various terrains and all life that lived within. Once of age Javern became a soldier and due to his skills was assigned the role of a scout. He was skilled and practiced in the use of all dwarven weaponry along with range weapons but found the hand crossbow to be his personal favorite. He also took the time to learn various artisan skills and the basic in the use of herbalism kit. Over the years his reputation grew and he was soon assigned to one of the most prestigious battalions. Overconfidence and drink caused a lapse in duty that led to multiple deaths. Embarrassment of the incident chased Javern away from his homeland. Javern went back to his upbringing and built himself a wagon. He now travels throughout Faerun going from city to city trying to escape his past. Lately he can be found in the city of Luskan. Customers who need supplies delivered by road seek out Javern. Sometimes the job was getting goods from the upper district down to the docks. Other times it was to another city. During these trips Javern would join up with a caravan for mutual protection. It has been a lonely existence and Javern is now looking for a sense of belonging.   Eeyore Javern sighed How did me get myself into this? This was not a normal sigh but one of many layers. The first aspect of the sigh was exhaustion. Stupid merchant had to be first. Javern groaned as he adjusted his left leg. The movement caused the soreness in his butt checks to rear its savage head; created by the damn merchant who pushed the caravan at a hard pace. Javern was accustomed to driving a wagon; though not for ten days. The caravan had traveled hard and fast, pushed constantly by the merchant to be one of the first to arrive with goods for the troubled city. Javern nudged his team of six mules, four pulling at time, and an empty bed and grumbled aloud Me wagon could have gone faster and longer. The second aspect of the sigh was annoyance. Javern placed the last strip of turkey meat into his mouth and followed it with a swallow from his canteen. He needed to work out the soreness. The sun had started to fall and its light was slowly being consumed by darkness. He stopped the wagon and stood. Javern disliked bargaining with humans. In fact he disliked their whole culture. Yet, it was part of the job. Javern looked over his shoulder at the human who just bought all his wares and grumbled A beard isn’t a beard to them, it’s just a little bit extra on the chin. The most identifiable part of the sigh was of remembrance. He had a dream. A vivid dream. One where he made a covenant. And even though it was made in a dream it was also made with spirit. Dwarves don’t break contracts. Javern looked again at the people that were maneuvering within the streets, sighed again, a normal sigh, shrugged his shoulders and snapped his reins. His empty wagon lurched forward, gold in his pocket and the promise of food and drink at some bar or inn up ahead. He mumbled I need to add some shocks to this damn seat.   Deadpool Javern grumbled to himself as he placed his half empty mug of beer down on the bar. He turned his head and looked at the head of a boar that was mounted on the wall How did me get myself into this? He was surrounded by folks in the bar but even worse a majority were elves and orcs. His involvement with elves and orcs have never gone well. If asked about the two races he will growl a reply “they irritate me .” Javern let out a loud sigh of relief as a group of elves finished their debate on the finer points in clothes design. Javern turned to face the boars head again and asked it When is height, having a bump of a nose, and flaps of skin for ears required to be a member of a ‘civilized’ society. F@&% the Elves. An empty mug later he growled again as two orcs armed wrestled at a table. Javern raised both hands in the air and growled to the boar Strength is not the only component of being able to fight well; might is not always right. F@&% the Orcs. SHEET

Character Sheet These are the tales of the party known as ‘Us Enterprise’ Featuring: Grunt the Dragonborn Ranger, Anxiety the Tiefling Sorcerer, Haz’Wares the Tabaxi Acrobat, and Frulr, one with bear! Featuring special guest star, Enethreial the High Elf Cleric!   The original party of three was brought together by one Dareddic Orcbender a Dwarven philanthropist of Arabel (Cormyr) who was looking for a particular magical relic for his next charitable work. Although he did not know where this item was to be found he knew of a researcher who might, in the town of Harrowdale in the Dalelands to the northeast. Hired for this quest was Tsarra Haz’Wares a Tabaxi rogue who had run away from home to join the circus if she could find one. Fredric von Slick AKA “Anxiety” the Tiefling sorcerer, who always tries to be immaculate and suave, yet due to his terrible luck and wild magic… ‘cough-cough’ enough said. And Grunt the Dragonborn Ranger who only speaks in onomatopoeia, so we don’t actually know his name and have made assumptions about his occupation. They travelled North then up the Moonsea Ride into the Dalelands before breaking away to head west to get to Harrowdale. Having faced goblins and bandits the party was tired and decided to stay a night at the inn rather than immediately search out the researcher. In the morning they found the researchers house under guard as he had been murdered in the night. After a bumbling attempt to offer assistance the party was detained for questioning, except Haz’Wares who using her Feline agility and Cunning action noped right out. As the rest of the party languished in jail, Haz’wares used her skills as an acrobat and investigated the crime scene. Having found a brief mention to the item they were after on a torn page, she came face to face with the researcher’s killer. A spooky reanimated doll thing. Haz’wares promptly ran away. Having been closely questioned and an overnight stay in the slammer the rest of the party was released, meeting up with Haz’Wares who showed them the torn page and told them about the creepy doll that attacked her. They left a note for the guard and promptly jumped on a ship to Uthmere to follow the road east to Kront and then north to Narfell.   The people of Narfell are not friendly to outsiders, less so to ones wanting to plunder ancient better left forgotten ruins. However, they made a friend in Frulr one with Bear, who didn’t quite believe the tales about said ruins and thought he could take whatever might be lurking. With Frulr’s help, they found the ruin they sort as indicated on the torn page. The ruin itself was overpopulated with skeletons that were all too eager to snuff out the living and the party faced one gruelling fight after another. After quite a few close calls they finally overcame the hoard and retrieved what they were after. Frulr deciding he wanted to see the world (and not admit he was wrong to his tribe) joined them on their way back to Cormyr. Along the way south they met Enethreial the High Elf Cleric of Helm, who refused to join them as he was on his way north to stop some great evil from being unleashed. The journey back to Uthmere was relatively uneventful and after chartering a boat to Suzail unsuspectingly boarded a pirate ship. The crew waiting till they were well out into the Sea of Fallen Stars jumped them in their sleep with the intention of selling them off as slaves in the Pirate Isles. Having studied the party and drugged their food, they knew to slap anti-magic manacles on Anxiety. Muzzle Grunt and use manacles that fully covered Haz’Wares hands. They were stripped of their things and tossed into separate cages, not fully realizing their predicament until the drugs wore off. They spent a miserable two weeks where Haz’Wares was regularly dragged out and forced to dance for the crew’s amusement. Grunt curled up into a ball and refused to move for anything, except food and water but never when the pirates were present. Frulr for his part, the one time they let him out to do some demeaning labour, fought hard despite the manacles before being brought low with long spears. They stopped giving him food and water after that and his friends had to share what little they got. Anxiety, on the other hand, had unintentionally seduced the ships druid before they had been subdued and caged. She would visit him regularly and sometimes would take him on walks about the ship, it was during one of these times walks he spied some thieves’ tools and distracting the Druid with a kiss managed to hide them on his person. Unfortunately, Haz’Wares’ did not have use of her hands and so she had to teach Frulr how to pick locks as his cage was the closest to hers. It took several days for Frulr to get a hang of the art and free Haz’Wares’ hands, who then taking the tools from him made short work of the rest of their bonds. Pretending to still be shackled they waited till dark before slipping out and starting to dispatch their captors. Unfortunately, the alarm went out and it turned into a bloody battle, though once the captain fell the rest of the crew surrendered. The party recovered their things and clean themselves up only to be faced with a new conundrum. None of them knew how to sail a ship. Salvation came in the form of the aforementioned druid, who had avoided the battle by being a rat. Sailing to Suzail took a long time and towards the end, they were more than certain another ship was following them and slowly gaining. Haggard and with their rations running low they pulled into Suzail and immediately began the journey north to Arabel leaving the ship to the port authority. Finally back where they started they turned in the magical relic to Dareddic Orcbender who thanked them profusely and was about to pay them when Paladins of Helm kicked in the door and stormed the place. Dareddic Orcbender for his part immediately teleported away taking both relic and payment with him and the party was once again detained and face to face with Enethreial the High Elf Cleric. Enethreial explained he had been investigating Dareddic Orcbender and discovered he was a powerful necromancer who had hired the party to retrieve a relic he needed to raise an army. He had been on his way to intercept the party but hadn’t known exactly who to intercept until he reached Narfell. Realising he had met them heading south he raced after them only to find they had been tricked into boarding the wrong ship. He had contacted his order and requisitioned a fast ship to chase them and had almost caught them at Suzail. A backstory that includes a few things: Their story, of course Their hometown/origin here in Faerun [Narfell] Why has your character decided to do this? [Better than dealing with stuck up nobles] What is their over-arching goal? {note} [To be hero and make new friends]   Frulr sits on a log and sighs head in his hands. After a while, he drops his hands and looks up at the hard camera. “How did I get myself into this? Simple really. Some dragon put vision or dream into head and I grab weapon and go. How isn’t hard question, ‘why’ is hard question.” He sighs again and looks dejected. “I tried ok? Man only change so much in such little time. The rage of ancestors and bear are part of me. I can’t just give them up because we’re “civilised” now. Hmph.” He crosses his arms and looks off into the wilderness. After a while, he uncrosses his arms and puts his hands on his knees. “I start from beginning.” He rubs his beard and points at the hard camera “I come from simple people, the Nars. Been living on frozen planes for generations. Like father and his father before him, we are one with bear. Not so welcoming of outsiders… But every so often, outsiders come in looking to pillage ancient ruins. Bloody fools who are likely to unleash something horrible with their reckless prying. Heh. At time I young and foolish, so I say to myself: Hey Frulr! Yes, Frulr? Maybe if they have strength of bear there be no trouble? Yes, Frulr! That good idea! So I joined them, we unleash hoard of skeletons!” He breaks into laugher slapping his thigh. “But Frulr not dumb, I show them how to smash skellys. Use club, not sword.” He pats his kanabō “So anyway, we fix problem then go on to travel abroad have many adventures.” He sighs “Then we make big mistake, we save woman, daughter of Noble of Waterdeep. She very grateful especially towards Frulr…” He hangs his head again. “By the time we get her back to father, she with child… Her father not unhappy about this. Unhappy that Frulr, Barbarian, one with bear. Much talk of marriage and how to tame Frulr. Ugh… I try to make happy. Always get angry and yell at Frulr lots. All Frulr’s friends had gone own way… Frulr alone and unhappy. “I not proud, Frulr leave, left note. Go save dragon, dragon not want to change Frulr. Perhaps Frulr find honour in death.” He gets up grabs his weapon and walks away.   “I am Frulr, and this is my weapon.” He holds up his kanabō before placing on his shoulder like a woodcutter shouldering their axe. “It deals 2d6 bludgeoning plus strength damage per attack” He narrows his eyes and looks really serious “Frulr not know what that means, but Frulr hit really hard!” He breaks into a grin. “And Frulr one with bear! So when Frulr get cranky also get tough like bear!” He laughs heartily “I not so good with people, but Frulr always protects friends! Friends are better than treasure.” He sniffs rugging his nose with his sleeve. “So let’s go and save us a dragon" He taps the side of his nose "Gonna make us. Big. Damn. Heroes.” he says with a big grin     Ah! A Dwarf, good fighters. Little short, but dangerous none the less. Good allies to have, especially for drinking. Ha! Oh this one can close wounds too! Nifty!   Seems a bit soft, got weird powers, not the weirdest I've seen. Frulr finds some kinship in his wanderlust. But really, what's with that thing on his head??   A fellow warrior through and through! Ha! Our fights will be Legendary!   I really wish he'd stop talking. No really... Frulr's head is starting to hurt.   He is small, but dangerous... I'm not sure what to think about this...   Is like a tree? Frulr has heard of tree people. Not sure why this one wants fight with dragons, being your know... flam-ma-bull. Very Brave tree, Frulr like.   He's very fancy and I'm honoured to call him friend, though truth be told, I do find him a tad um... small   One of them finger wigglers, arrogant too.   He appears to be some sort of iron... man... Frulr wonders if iron tougher then bear?   He sounds like a place, We are going to the Grim Greycastle, ha! Look Frulr don't care if you have fancy sword, healer types need to stay safe to do da healing!   It's a dwarf, can't go wrong with a dwarf... unless your an elf or an orc or a...   Frulr know he not all that bright... After all Frulr one with bear and bear live simple life for reason. But Frulr think he good friend. Frulr know he make bad choices. But this time Frulr do what right or die in attempt.

You may purchase Common magic items at 100 gp each, but no others may you purchase with gold. Characters will have more than enough based on the criteria laid out in the main post.

Alright. I think I've caught everyone up as far as your Applications go.
I didn't dive into your apps, just checked boxes for the list of things I asked for.
I won't start diving into them fully for a few days, or a week still. I'll update when I do.
