Okay, I finished my character application. All I have left is to figure out his equipment. I put the writing samples in spoilers.

Debating on having a riding mule or a wagon or just hoofing it Since he's a bounty hunter I suppose the wagon might make sense but I can see that getting left behind somewhere along the way

From the PHB, Chapter 10:
Casting a Spell
When a character casts any spell, the same basic rules are followed, regardless of the character’s class or the spell’s effects.
So the following paragraphs would apply I would think, including this one.

Casting some spells requires particular objects, specified in parentheses in the component entry. A character can use a component pouch or a spellcasting focus (found in chapter 5) in place of the components specified for a spell.

From Chapter 5:

Arcane Focus.
An arcane focus is a special item—an orb, a crystal, a rod, a specially constructed staff, a wand-like length of wood, or some similar item— designed to channel the power of arcane spells. A sorcerer, warlock, or wizard can use such an item as a spellcasting focus, as described in chapter 10.

So, it seems to contradict itself. If anyone has a solid ruling that clears up this contradiction, please let me know.
Otherwise, I'd answer "Yes".

If you look under the spellcasting rules, "Arcane Focus" is a specific rule for Wizards, Druids etc. that arcane tricksters and eldritch knights lack. You could just houserule that those archetypes get the rule also, but I think RAW only allows for certain classes to get subsets of arcane focuses

I don't think there's a contradiction, just a clarification.

"A character can use a component pouch or a spellcasting focus"

This doesn't imply that everyone can use foci, only that a character (who is allowed to use a focus) can substitute for components. A character can also use thieves' tools to pick a lock, but that doesn't give everyone proficiency.

"A sorcerer, warlock, or wizard can use such an item as a spellcasting focus"

This is the rule that applies to everyone. The same combat rules apply to everyone, but that doesn't mean everyone gets Extra Attack or a Bonus Action.

That's my two copper pieces, anyway.

And let me tell you, I'm missing that Extra Attack at 12th level. Thanks for the clarification Rat Queen. I was willing to go either way and fiddling with spell components in character should be fun to type out
