Oh, a Konosuba inspired game, sounds interesting.
So question about the characters that are the fools, what kinda setting/timeline would they be on, are they from the modern real world or are they from the Forgotten Realms? |

Characters are from Forgotten Realms, as they do start out with DnD classes.
Regarding setting, I want to set it in the world of Konosuba, ~10 years after the events of the last book, when new bad guys are slowly gathering power to take place of the new demon king. If it turns out that too many players are familiar with the universe, I will make some changes, to make sure that they are at least a bit lost and confused. Character Name: Dupet of the daylight moon
Class: wizard (scribe from tashas) Race: forest gnome Description: Forest gnome, grey eyes, short green hair, woody brown skin, turquoise robes Personality: she has an undying urge for knowledge and has little reason to hold back. Though at the cost to her social interest. Has a hard time listening past bullet points. But she’s nice and kind hearted unless she has little reason to be, that’s just a waste of effort Alignment: N Background: Sage Personality Trait 1: okay, you said a bunch... I was thinking louder than you and didn’t hear a thing Personality Trait 2: i mean... who hasn’t summoned a demon or two.. did you not go to college? Ideal: The path to self-improvement is through knowledge and experimentation Bond: I work to study and improve on the minor amount that’s written about other realms Flaw: Most people scream and run when they see something so incredibly interesting, such as a screaming ghost in the bathroom mirror! I have so many questions!! Backstory: Backstory: -heavy in study at the university near burnout their brother brings them coffee laced with something extra. It Expanded their view of the world and revitalized them, though it worked too well… leading to a tragic accident. Their career and apprenticeship in research at an end. -“how’d I die? I managed to find 4 others for the demon summoning ritual but… forgot to grab an extra to hold a protection circle.” -What deity sent you to the new world? Deneir, god of writing -“hero? Maybe in the realm of academia! Mordenkainen’s got nothing on me!” Additional personality flaw (RP only, whatever you think of): she has an obsessive collection and study of monsters and creatures Additional combat flaw (Something that will make fights a bit harder for your character.: "I.. ooo squirrel!" (-4 to initiative rolls and dex saves) One skill with anti-proficiency: insight

Name: Liu Wen
Race: Human Class: Monk 5e background: Far Traveler 2 traits: 1.) I have different assumptions from those around me concerning personal space, blithely invading other's space in innocence, or reacting to ignorant invasion of my own. 2.) I begin or end my day with small traditional rituals that are unfamiliar to those around me. ideal: Open. I have much to learn from the kindly folk I meet along my way. bond: I am fascinated by the beauty and wonder of this new land. flaw: I have a weakness for the new intoxicants and other pleasures of this land. Additional personality flaw (RP only, whatever you think of): She tends to be flighty. Doing one thing then something catches her attention and she forgets what she was doing. Changes her mind on the fly. Has trouble staying focus on one thing for too long. [B]Additional combat flaw (Something that will make fights a bit harder for your character. Examples: A jumper. For example, a spider can drop down in front of her and she jumps before killing it. Some can jump at her and she'll scream in surprise before she fights back. (Saw this movie where a guy goes into kitchen with a knife, about to attack the unsuspecting housewife & mother. She sees him and screams in shock. The man's head goes back from scream and the woman blinks, picks up hot frying pan and sacks him. Cracked me up) One skill with anti-proficiency (Don't worry, you will still get your normal proficiencies. I just want you to pick one skill that you are horrible at): Intimidation, being perhaps a bit over friendly, she rather show kindness than getting into someone's face. not liking to bully anyone. Unless something happens that leaves her no choice, will she get assertive. (Think of the black female cop on Police Academy, forgot her name) Appearance: Petite at 5'3, slender build of an athletic body. Her skin color has that yellowish-bronze hue, and she has dark brown eyes with long dark hair. She wears a colorful robe made of cotton and silk, of mostly red with silver embroidery and elastic leg bindings that is common among the monks. Personality: Bubbling at times, very friendly, has a smile that in infectious. Always willing to help others, although can be a bit naive at times. Grew up an orphan, never knowing her parents, she was raised in a monastery in Kara-Tur. While showing friendship to everyone one, she is easy to goad or to double dare. Something a few mean girls or lustful boys like to take advantage of. Picture of the character: Backstory: Growing up in a monastery as an orphan, she was taught about life, how to survive, and how to defend oneself. She was a good student if she focused, but her mind tends to wander. She got along with others fairly well. Most liked her, but like everywhere, you had the populars, the unpopulars, and the in betweens. She was part of the in betweens. Although attractive, she was flighty, and a few mean girls would give her problems. At the same time, a few of the boys would try to find a way to take advantage of her. The teachers would keep an eye on her for her safety. One day some pupils found a hole in the ground 200 yards around the monastery. Natural subsistence would rise from it at certain times of the day. Those that inhaled it would talk funny. It soon became a secret game. To see who can inhale the most and talk the funniest. Some gotten sick or passed out. One day, they were out there again with same results. Then Liu's turn came, determined win she relaxed her body and inhaled the most she could. Her body would rock while others cheered her on, some for her to win, others for other purposes. Minutes passed and Liu was still sitting in front of the hole, they began to get tired of waiting declared her the winner, but she wasn't moving. Someone noticed she wasn't breathing and another went to her and found her unresponsive. They quickly ran to get the first teacher they saw but it was too late. All of the students were punished. Turns out it was helium, and its density is less than that of air and it can replace the oxygen in your lungs. Once that happens, the nervous system shuts down and you go to sleep. Forever. Which happened to Liu. When Liu woke up, she found herself standing there with only a sheet. There was a very beautiful woman standing in front of her. She was Kwan Ying, the goddess of compassion, mercy, and joy. She looked at Liun with a sad smile and shook her head. Feeling sorry for the girl who should have a long life. She then gave her 2 choices. Stay dead, or come back and start over in a whole new land. She couldn't stay where she grew up because she wouldn't grow much. She needed to be somewhere new, for her to learn and hopefully mature better. Liu thought about about it for a few moments. Staying dead really wasn't that bad, but although she was outwardly friendly to all, deep down, she knows how some thought of her. She didn't want to be simply known as a happy go lucky but naive girl. She wanted to prove to others that she can be more. Especially to herself. Being a hero wasn't something she thought about, but what better way to show that she can be much more than happy go lucky. She can have purpose in her life, which she never had in her previous life. Thanks for the application.
I think everything with this character is fine so far. Weapon attack penalty for a character, who knows cantrips, does not seam like too much of an issue, but I can imagine a few scenarios, where it could make her useless/ cause problems, so it's okay to keep it. Regarding the magical lute, it will probably be fine. |

I do love to indulge in Isekai from time to time... while my number of games is full, my reading list and interest is not. If it isn't any trouble, BarrowB, I'd very much appreciate a link to the game thread when you start so I can follow along.
In any case, good luck to any and all applicants, and good luck to the DM!

Thank you for your application.
-Well, Twirlique's death seems a bit drastic... but I think it is acceptable, as being ugly and ashamed of it is one of her main things. (If I understood correctly) -I like the overall idea, but I feel like she needs at least one light-hearted thing in her backstory. So far her life feels like a complete tragedy from beginning to end. (Unless you really want to keep it that way) I see no other issue with the character. |

Liu Wen
-Combat flaw: How do you see it work? Does it mean that her first action (or whole turn?) of every encounter is spent panicking? Correct me, if I understood it wrong. -I really like the way she died. -No big deal, but you might want to read it again, to fix some small errors, like: "She gave her 3 choices" and listing only 2 of them. Overall, I love this application. You have a big chance of getting picked, as you are the only front-line so far. |
