Way better!

Only one thing. Change your combat flaw to:
Combat Flaw: When I roll a natural 1 with a spell attack, I hit myself instead of an enemy.

Makes a bit more sense with the way he died and won't be a great danger to other PC's.

Nothing else needed.

Alright. I think I'm good! Let me know if you want anything added or have any questions. I should note I know -nothing- about this setting but from what I understand that's alright. It will probably make things more interesting for me.

Your application is very good, I hope to see Senic in one of the groups.

Yes, as I wrote before, knowing nothing about the setting is perfectly fine, maybe even a bit more fun.
Players, who know the books/anime (mainly the books) will be able to dodge a bullet or two (if they decide to use player knowledge) or just recognise some obscure side character and treat them a bit differently (though, 10 years can change a person, so it may not always be wise to assume they are still the same).
Though, author of this world didn't really go into too much detail about many things, so I hope to surprise even those, who are familiar with the established setting.

Application
right-aligned image
Name: Rex Norixius Aka Reckless Rex
Race: Black Dragonborn
Class: Path of the Berserker Barbarian

5e background: Gladiator
2 Personality Traits: I insist that others call me by my ring name and will correct them whenever they do otherwise, or fight them. I try to infuse my actions with a theatrical flourish, but will never admit that my showmanship is anything but genuine.
Ideal: Ambition: History remembers the great, and I want to be remembered. (Any)
Bond: I want to be famous, whatever it takes.
Flaw: I will do anything to win fame and renown.

Additional personality flaw: When someone calls him just Rex, he grows in his anger, the first time he will politely correct them, the second time he will threaten them and the third time he has to make a WIS saving throw (DC up to DM and can change depending on situation) if he fails will try to attack them, if he fails by 5 or more, he will use his rage along with this attack. Before making tough decisions, he will flip a coin, letting Tymora, Goddess of Good Fortune decide his fate at that moment.

Additional combat flaw: Getting too old for this (I can't use the dash or hide action, and if I use Reckless Attack 3 turns in a row, I have to use an entire action to catch my breath. Also if I use my dragon breath, I have to make a CON save (DC up to DM) if I fail I spend the next action on my turn throwing up.)
*Also, include personality flaw, enemies can use this to their advantage if they begin to learn about this.

One skill with anti-proficiency: Perception/Investigation

Appearance: Black scaled Dragonborn, over 6 ft. tall, muscular build, instead of horns on the top of his head, his looks more like a triceratops's, with long tendril like things that kind of looks like hair. He has strong, sharp facial features, with deep, dark brown eyes. Like all Dragonborn, his hands and feet have long claws and long, sharp teeth that protrude from his mouth. His age shows through his scales, they are a lighter shade of black than when he was young, he has wrinkles around his eyes and mouth, and a number of smaller horns have began to lighten and form around his chin, giving him the look of a small beard.

He wears a costume that looks like a set of armour, but it is just for show, he prefers not to wear armour, makes his scales itch, he figures that his hardened dragon like scales are tough enough to handle any simple blows in combat. Around his neck is a blue scarf, loose fitting, and a black hoodless cloak.

Personality: Rex wants to be remembered as a great, powerful warrior, unlike his past life where he was exposed as a fake, an actor within the gladiator's arena. He wants to only go by his ring name, often if they just say Rex, he will correct them with "that's Reckless Rex thank you," if they continue, he becomes more frustrated to the point where he has to have his comrades hold him back, or he will fight them right where he stands.

Rex is also an older Dragonborn, his prime has passed him and he is on the downslope of his life. This leaves him achy in the morning and often having to use herbs and drink to ease his joints in the morning and throughout the day. Also a religious creature, he prays to Tymora, Goddess of Good Fortune for her good luck and when given a tough decision, will often flip a coin to make his choice.

He is drawn to magic users, because their styles often compliment his own and their buffs allow him to be great in battle and make his opponents look like weak fools. So when he meets magic users, he often will try to make friends with them first and stands up for them if they were to get into trouble.

He is also a show off, often flourishing his strikes, making a performance of his fights, always wanting to entertain those that are around him and build his legacy as an amazing fighter. Outside of combat, he is a fairly easy going guy, supporting the dreams and ambitions of his friends and doing what he can in order to get them to succeed. As an older Dragonborn, he tries to pass on knowledge that he learned, especially to younger generations so that they don't make the same mistakes that he had.

Backstory: Rex was a gladiator, famous for his fights in the arena against great monsters and powerful warriors. He had a very good reputation and was quite wealthy from his exploits and because of this success, grew cocky. Too cocky for his own good, as he began to bite the hand that fed him, angering the wrong people who knew the truth, that his entire career was fabricated by them.

Unknown to him, his opponents were paid off to go easy on him and throw their matches, the monsters he faced were either weaker than they were built up to be, or drugged to allow him to win. This was revealed to the public with the testimonies of the warriors he faced, as well as the owners of the monsters he fought, this not only shattered his career and his reputation, but it also destroyed his confidence in his own abilities.

This prompted him to challenge an actual, dangerous monster, in order to gain some of his dignity back. He fought valiantly, and killed the monster, but was also fatally wounded in the fight and died on the battlefield. His last moments, he called to Tymora and begged for a second chance, that he was so ashamed for being fooled like he was and how it corrupted him, he begged her to allow him the chance to begin anew and become an actual hero to the people, in her name. A coin appeared in his mind and it began to spin in the air and fall, this was his chance, he prayed for the head to face up, like her symbol, and it did, in a flash of radiant light, he was transported to a new world.

Name: Lyle Cobblepot
Race: Halfling (Lightfoot)
Class: Fighter (BattleMaster)
Background: Soldier
  1. Personality
I face problems head-on. A simple, direct solution is the best path to success.
  2. Ideal
Live and Let Live. Ideals aren’t worth killing over or going to war for. (Neutral)
  3. Bond
Those who fight beside me are those worth dying for.
  4. Flaw
I’d rather eat my armor than admit when I’m wrong.
Additional personality flaw: I can't have just one thing to eat, I need the whole variety available, or at least as much as i can afford.
Additional combat flaw: Dislikes weapons commonly used only uses his trusty cleaver. (If forced to use any other weapon he has a -4 to hit).
One skill with anti-proficiency: Animal Handling Animals tend to be very nervous around Lyle, maybe because he always wants to find new ways of cooking them. (disadvantage on any animal handling checks)

Appearance: Lyle is pretty average for his kind. He is only three feet tall and a bit overweight due to his sampling everything he cooks or anyone else does for that matter. He had reddish brown hair and large sideburns. His eyes are the color of emeralds and seem to sparkle in the firelight especially when he is cooking. HE always has his cooking utensils on him just in case they are needed, as well as his large cleaver.

Personality: Lyle is outgoing and curious especially when it comes to cooking or preparing anything. he will go out of his way to learn a new recipe or create a new dish. When around other cooks he is in his happy place learning new dishes from others as well as sharing his own. He is very focused when it comes to preparing a dish and while open to suggestions is offended if someone dislikes whatever it is he has prepared and will stoutly defend the dish. Of course he only serves his best to others. He is quick to make friends and slow to lose them, he is trusting of those he calls friend almost to a fault.

Backstory:
-The story (try to keep it short) Lyle never intended to be a soldier and truth be told he wasn't all that good at it. Still he had little choice being pushed into service. He hated the basic training they gave him and he was quite terrible at wielding anything other than his cleaver. As a result he was stationed as a cook staying in the camp and preparing meals for those who did the fighting. Many of the others in basic training with him thought he was about useless as a soldier, but once he started cooking for them came around, finally seeing what he actually was good at.

Even with the limited ingredients available being on the move Lyle always thought of a creative way to add flavor to his dishes and among his company was well liked for his cooking, if nothing else.

-How did you die? Lyle was killed during a battle as usual he remained in the rears of the company. Unfortunately his comrades failed to hold the line and the enemy broke through into the encampment. Lyle was busy preparing the meal at the time, and as the enemy moved in several horses panicked and tried to flee, the first kicked the stew pot over onto Lyle scalding him briefly before the second trampled him underfoot.

-What deity sent you to the new world? (any pantheon) Yondalla

-Why are you trying to be a hero? Why not, especially if it means I get to travel and learn new dishes from various places in the world. Not to mention his own fame will grow as a chef by sharing his dishes abroad.

Name: Wallace McWhiskers

Race: Human (Variant) / Cat

Age: 16 (1 cat year)

Class: Rogue (Arcane Trickster)

Background: Urchin

Personality traits: 1) I like to squeeze into small places where no one else can get to me.
2) I think anyone who’s nice to me is hiding evil intent.

Ideals: I help the people who help me — that’s what keeps us alive.

Bonds: No one else should have to endure the hardships I’ve been through.

Flaws: I will never fully trust anyone other than myself.

Additional personality flaw: I wake up early and I insist that everyone else wakes up at the same time as me.

Additional combat flaw: Wallace can’t wield weapons or armor, and he can’t (or won’t) carry anything.

Gear: Collar of protection (+1 AC, +1 Saving Throws - see Cloak of Protection)

One skill with anti-proficiency: Intimidation. Let’s face it, even though Wallace might threaten to kill you for not giving him that piece of chicken, it’s hard to take him seriously.

Appearance: Wallace looks like a grouchy potato with ears and a tail. He’s a young tabby who can often be found sleeping in a patch of sun. Although he doesn’t look very graceful, he can be nimble and sneaky when he wants to be. His markings help him hide, particularly in underbrush or the dark. He has an acute sense of hearing and is a good hunter, although he has never enjoyed killing other animals with his claws. He prefers to be fed from the table.

Personality: Wallace is usually annoyed about something. Why haven’t we eaten yet? Why is it raining? Why are you making me walk? And so on. He is quite fond of his friends and acquaintances, and he relies on them for food and warmth. Although he can be a pain, Wallace genuinely tries to help his friends and is attached to them. However, when Wallace sits by the fire glowering into the darkness, one does wonder what he is thinking about.

Wallace can be a little bit paranoid. One moment he’s curled on your lap asleep, and the next moment he’s a flash of fur bolting out of the room. I thought I heard something, he says upon his return. Or rather, he sends that thought to you - Wallace is telepathic. And he enjoys letting the people around him know what he’s thinking.

Backstory: Wallace wasn’t always a cat. Long ago, he was a boy. Wallace something or other. And he lived on the streets. He had been abandoned or maybe run away - the details are fuzzy now - and had survived by stealing food and picking pockets. Occasionally, he would sneak into people’s homes and take a few things, mostly small things. His life was going very well, as far as he was concerned, until one day when he was caught snooping through someone’s larder.

As Wallace stood with a mouthful of bread, he thought he heard a sound behind him. Spinning around, he stood face to face with an elderly gentleman. He was about to run when all at once, there was puff and bang and a whooshing sensation and the next thing he knew he was a cat. Or almost a cat. For he still had his memories, and he could still understand what people said.

"Who are you?" the man asked him. Wallace, sir, he replied. And to his amazement he found that could still speak… or think? He was speaking with his mind. "Very well, Wallace McWhiskers. And who are your parents?". I don’ have any parents, sir, Wallace replied. The old man considered for a moment and then said, "I suppose you can stay with me then," and walked out of the room. And so Wallace became a cat. And he found that he rather enjoyed being a cat. It wasn’t that different from his life before, only now he had a guaranteed meal and a warm place to sleep.

As the days passed by, Wallace became more and more cat-like and began to forget what it was like to be a boy. Where is my dinner? he would ask the old gentleman each night, all pretense of politeness dropped. And he would sit on the kitchen table and meow loudly to make his point.

Perhaps some of the magic had rubbed off on him in the process of becoming a cat, for Wallace found that he had some other newfound abilities. For example, he found that he could hunt with his mind and that just by thinking hard enough and whispering a few noises, he could kill his prey with a blast of mental energy. He sometimes hunted rats this way, but soon found that he preferred cooked chicken with butter to things he caught himself.

Just as Wallace was growing fond of being a cat, with his belly growing rounder day by day, his blissful life was cut short. One afternoon, he decided to take a nap in a patch of sun behind the elderly gentleman’s wagon. He never even felt it when the wagon backed up. So ended the promising life of Wallace McWhiskers.

Or so he thought. Mask, the god of shadows and thieves, had other plans for Wallace. For a moment after he died, Wallace stood in Plane of Shadow with Mask stooped low before him whispering, "Go back, you incompetent fool - I am not done with you!" And with a flick of his wrist, Mask pointed Wallace towards a tunnel of light leading back to the world of the living.

Fat boy killed in his sleep
right-aligned image

Name: DDiog
Race: V. Human
Class: Druid (Spores)
Alignment: N

Background:
Personality Trait: I like a job well done, so long as I can convince someone else to do it.
Personality Trait: I'm smart, brave, funny . . . but lazy.
Ideal: Each of us should be free to do (or not do) what they wish.
Bond: I died due to my carelessness. I will do better this time.
Flaw: I never pass up the opportunity for a nap.
Flaw: I snore, loudly.

Combat Flaw: Ddiog is big, but slow. Everything jiggles when he tries to run and he gets tired fast. Movement is 20, rather than 30.

Anti-Proficiency Skill: Athletics. Ddiog is a big guy, but it's all fat. There's just no muscle tone underlying it at all.

Appearance: Ddiog is a big boy. Not just tall, though he's pretty tall; not just wide, though he's pretty wide; he's massive, with a jutting stomach, big breasts, and cheeks that force his eyes into an almost closed squint . . . when they aren't actually closed in sleep.

Personality: Yeah, he's lazy. He loses focus easily (ADD) and covers it with a mask of not caring. Ddiog's voice is higher than you might expect, he smiles a lot and tells jokes. He is always slapping others on the back, nudging them with an elbow, or playfighting. But sit him down and try to talk seriously to him or get him to focus on his studies and his eyes start closing.

Backstory: "The laziest boy in town." That's what his mother calls him. Even his friends pretty much agree. I mean, he's a nice guy and all but when it comes to getting any work done, good luck. He was apprenticed to the local druid who owed his mother a favor and even his spells were lazy, mainly spells of decay and sleep. I mean, he likes the old drunk and all, but the whole looking for herbs, doing chores, and the like, didn't really take.

He was out avoiding work when the raiders struck. He had been assigned a list of herbs to find and he'd looked for the first one, sort of. But he didn't find it and the morning was hot and, well, he fell asleep. And didn't wake up. Someone killed him in his sleep, I guess. But just when you would think that karma would say, THIS boy deserve the eternal rest, no. He woke again, in a strange place, among strange people, with no idea why. It must have been some Trickster God; one connected with sleep and dreams. Maybe if he slept on it, it would get clearer. . . . .

Name: Asha
Race: Half Elf
Class: Paladin, likely to multiclass into warlock
5e background: Acolyte (former cultist)
Trait: I see omens in every event and action. The gods try to speak to us, we just need to listen.
Trait: I misquote sacred texts and proverbs in almost every situation.
Ideal: Faith. I trust that my deity will guide my actions. I have faith that if I work hard, things will go well. (Lawful)
Ideal: Freedom. Chains are meant to be broken, as are those who would forge them. (Chaotic)
Bond: I'm guilty of a terrible crime. I hope I can redeem myself for it.
Bond: I died because of a mistake I made. That will never happen again.
Flaw: Once I pick a goal, I become obsessed with it to the detriment of everything else in my life.
Flaw: I couldn't hide my emotions and opinions even if I wanted to.

Additional personality flaw: Asha can easily lose sight of the reason why she’s doing something in her fervor to get it done, often to the point of defeating the original purpose.
Additional combat flaw: After each time she rolls initiative, she has disadvantage on attack rolls and saving throws until she has spent an action chanting/yelling praises.

One skill with anti-proficiency: Insight. She is possibly the worst judge of character you will find.

Appearance: Asha has angular features, reflecting her elven heritage, but only small points to her ears rather than the long ears of a full elf. She has brown hair and eyes, and usually a crazed gleam in her eyes.

Personality: Asha is well intentioned, but seriously lacking in judgement. She is generally cheerful, and dives into whatever she is doing with manic energy and focus. While she has significant insecurities about herself, she covers them up with bravado and an absolute faith in an outside power, which at the moment is the goddess Isis.

Backstory:
Asha was raised among elves, but shunned by them for being half human. She found solace in the Cult of Howling Hatred, serving them with fanatic devotion right up until they decided she would make a good ritual sacrifice. She told them she wasn’t really comfortable with that and that she thought her skills would be more useful in other ways, and they told her that it wasn’t really optional. A failed escape and a ritual sacrifice later, Asha’s soul was floating through the void, where it was found by Isis, goddess of healing, motherhood, and magic, who decided to show mercy to the lost soul.
Isis told Asha to use the new life she was granting her to make a difference in a good way and make up for what she did in her first lifetime. After hearing Asha mumbling to herself about summoning and fixing the sacrifice part of ritual sacrifice, Isis corrected that to much more clear and specific instructions about helping people in ways that weren’t being used for evil.

Name: Amadeus Satu
Race: Forest Gnome
Class: Wild Magic Sorcerer
5e background: Acolyte of Zagreus
*Traits: Nothing can shake my optimistic attitude. I idolize a particular hero of my faith, and constantly refer to that person’s deeds and example.
*Ideal: Aspiration. I seek to prove myself worthy of my god’s favor by matching my actions against his teachings. (Any)
*Bond: Everything I do is for... ahem...
*Flaw: Sucker for a pretty face.
Additional personality flaw: The idea that there's an inappropriate time and place to flirt doesn't occur to me.
Additional combat flaw: Horny Hesitation: Amadeus takes -4 initiative scoping out the battlefield for women in the area, and has disadvantage on any attack roll against females, regardless of race. That's not how he wants to smash.
One skill with anti-proficiency Acrobatics; as a consequence of his death, he gets phantom pain in his legs when he tries to do acrobatic feats.
Possible Magic Items: A smooth, gray stone that feels like a friend. When you throw it, it will find its way back to your pocket the next time you reach for it. On a hit, the target takes bludgeoning damage equal to 1d6 + your spellcasting ability modifier. If you place it on the ground, it will stay there.Pet Rock, This is actually an ordinary ring. Curse. This ring is cursed, a fact that is revealed only when an identify spell is cast on the ring. Attuning to the ring curses you until you are targeted by the remove curse spell or similar magic; removing the ring fails to end the curse. While cursed, you fully and utterly believe that the ring is a Ring of Invisibility, and thinks he or she can turn invisible. Any attempt to convince the creature otherwise fails.Totally a Magic Ring, You Guys, The recipient of an attack from this weapon has a 25% chance to be teleported up to 10' away from the wielder. Proficiency with light crossbows allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.Mildly Inconvenient Crossbow
Appearance: Amadeus, Deus for short, is a three and half foot tall, dark-haired gnome. He considers himself roguishly handsome, and exudes confidence and assurance to the point of sometimes convincing people that he knows more or is more competent than he is.
Personality: Raised in the cult of Zeus Hyes the Fertilizer, called the Jovian Faith, he considers the procreative act to be an act of worship in the same way that the cult of Hypnos considers sleeping to be worship. Of course, being devout is easy. Deus is affable, empathetic, and ever optimistic.
