Alright, Asha is now stated at level 3 instead of level 1. I'm not really sure what magic item to suggest. A +1 Warhammer is probably the most optimal option, but it seems kinda boring. Maybe an Immovable Rod or Ring of Water Walking.

@codex for mine, I went to dndbeyond.com and looked up their higher rated, common rarity homebrew. There's all kinds of goofy stuff there

Asha believes in all kinds of omens and the like, give her an omen generator like Kau Chim sticks, tarot cards, or the like. GM can even make it work 10% of the time (the other 90% gives random answers).

@BarrowB Does the 1st level spell we get from Magic Initiate use our spell points? If so, that's really frigging useful.

Also, considering a male succubus (incubus?) Dex fighter. That is, unless all succubi are chicks. Will have to pound my skull against the desk a bit more if so.

*Ideal: Balance. Do not fish the same spot twice in a row; suppress your greed, and nature will reward you. (Neutral)
*Bond: Freedom is very important to me, to the point of dodging responsibility on the regular.
*Flaw: I am judgmental, especially of those I deem workaholics.
Additional personality flaw: She's conflict avoidant with people she knows, preferring to deflect, cause distractions to derail the conversation, or hide.
Additional combat flaw: Calamity is very easily bored to the point of humming, fidgeting, or outright singing to herself, causing her to roll stealth with disadvantage. She's also a tall, gangly, brightly-colored lizard.
One skill with anti-proficiency: It's possible that Calamity has a mild case of ADD, as she has little patience for academics. Anti-proficiency with History.
Magic Initiate: I'm just reminding you that you get Magic Initiate feat for free. You don't have to make the spell choices yet. Rock on

Appearance: Calamity is a lizardfolk with blue-green scales and a large crest that stretches from the top of her head and down her back in iridescent greens and yellows. She wears a large straw hat that pushes her crest down over her face, vaguely resembling a flop of hair.

Personality: She is humorous, impatient, irresponsible, mostly loyal, and very lazy.

Backstory: Calamity has spent most of her time fishing, fighting, and getting up to shenanigans in the coastal village of Hallow. Most of it was for the sake of shenanigans itself (like harmless pranks she's probably too old for), some to get away from her family trying to make her do chores. On one such adventure took her farther from home than she'd intended. Truth be told, she'd snuck into a merchant's wagon, fallen asleep, and rolled out into the desert. Wandering home, she found an abandoned village. In its center was a seemingly dry well and a two-pronged trident was on display before it; its label declared it to be +1 Trident. Banging it against hard surfaces makes it go bong.Tlaloc's Tuning Fork, claiming it to be the arcane focus of a giant. Who knew if any of that was true, but she did not hesitate to pick it up and smack it on the edge of the well. It gave a satisfying bong as a glob of water rose up out of the well until she let it drop. Calamity took it with a whistle, ruining this rest stop by taking its access to water, which didn't occur to her until... well it probably didn't.

She spent the rest of her teenage years using it to mess with her friends and neighbors until news of the Demon King came to her village. She had the only magical weapon in her village, and Calamity had to think. On the one hand, going on a quest would keep her from having to work for who knows how long. On the other hand, she might not be able to play properly during the trip. On the other other hand, if the Demon King won, who knew if she'd be able to play at all? So, she decided to get off her butt and went to find other people to help defend her lazy way of life.

As per the raw rules of this feat, the 1st level spell doesn't use your spell slot/ spell points. You can cast it 1/long rest for free. However, I am willing to agree on also adding that spell to your spell list, to cast with spell points.

You know what? Sure.

Though still, the male representatives of that species rarely appear in Belzerg, so most NPCs will be quite hesitant to trust him, if they find out about his true nature.

If you want to tie him to any pre-establised place, there is a Dream Your Dreams Café located in Axel, a mostly peaceful town filled with beginner adventurers.

Okay, I kind of like here.

Some small things:

1) Lizardfolk was not listed among the available races, unless you intended to make a lizard-ish shifter.

Still, I am willing to allow it, as it does technically fit in the term "beastfolk".

The name of the race is even "(type of an animal)-folk" XD.


2) Disadvantage on stealth probably won't change much in combat, especially for a bard-fighter with a really loud weapon. Try to think of a different combat flaw.

For example, the current combat flaws are something like:
- Affected by Bane, when anyone important for the character is looking.
- -10 to movement speed.
- -10 to attacks with weapons.
- Is literally a cat, so can't use weapons, armour, backpack or hold any items in hands.

The flaw doesn't have to be extreme but it has to be something that you will surely notice every now and then.

That's very fair. Since I have a walking and a swimming speed, can I keep my swim speed at 30' if I bring my walking speed to 15'?

We're working on that!

More like the rest of the incompetent fools would be a lizardman who is literally terrified of water . . . no swim speed at all (since we already have a fat boy who is slow), also no baths, drinks only alcoholic beverages, is afraid of rain and puddles. Go drama here!

1. We already have a person with similar thing.

2. You have no idea how awful it is to have a very low speed, even if you intend to be a caster.


Random ideas:

Slippery hands
Something like: has to roll a very easy dexterity check each time she uses anything held in her hands. If failed, the item drops x feet away in random direction.

Where is my tail?! (not sure if you mentioned her having one)
Something like: she has normal speed but if she walks more than 10ft in a single round, she has to roll a dex save, to avoid falling prone.

That actually gave me an idea about her losing her tail; not fully sure how to implement it though. I had an idea to have her slashing damage has a chance to chop off her tail and force dex saves to move until her next long restlose her tail after getting hit, but it might be too busy. Slippery hands might be simpler.
