[D&D-5e] Another Chance for Those Incompetent Fools

@BarrowB I see "evil" gods, but are there demon/devil gods? Are succubi "natural" creatures or are they spat out by hell to plague mankind?

I was thinking male succubi are rare because they're all in hell doing hellish things like torturing, smashing grapes, cackling evilly, that kind of thing. My character was kicked out of hell for being insufficiently evil and not enjoying his work like a proper devil should. His boss actually likes him though, and is trying to teach him a lesson, not just banish him forever. Thus a curse has been placed on him so he can learn to better hate mortals.

Whenever "character name" uses Charm, someone that loves that person, a parent, spouse, sibling or friend, knows. In addition, no matter what shape "character name" takes, they always know it's him. They don't know how they know, but they know. Some may be jealous, others protective, but all of them will usually assume he was up to no good, even if all he wanted was a heavy discount on a cup of coffee.

In addition, he abuses the hell out of this ability and has done so for centuries. So yeah. There are people everywhere who know he's a bad man/woman/tabaxi/orc and do what they can to impede his surely nefarious goals. Even if he's what he's doing is trying to save the world from the Demon King.

This might even work as a combat flaw as he will tend to attract people that otherwise wouldn't have gotten involved. I can see him getting into a long winded argument with an old lady who keeps whacking him with her umbrella. Meanwhile the rest of the party is downing in a sea of bad guys and screaming at him to get into the fight.

There are no "devil gods" as that is kind of a contradiction.
However, Wolbach for example was worshipped by a succubus, so demons praying to evil gods is not something unheard of.

Spat out by hell. Devils and other such beings willingly leave hell to have some more power, influence and fun in the human world... but returning home is troublesome if one isn't powerful enough to just teleport there.

So basically... every time he uses Charm, a new mortal enemy spawns in the world.

Basically, any encounter near civilisation may result in an additional enemy appearing and targeting only him.

Feat: Magic Initiate Class: Sorcerer Cantrips: Mage Hand, Minor Illusion 1st level spell: Silvery Barbs Appearance: As a shape-shifter, this varies a lot and changes often. Undisguised he's fair skinned, tall and thin, with pale gray eyes and straight, black, medium length hair. He also has all of the hallmarks of being a demon: ram's horns, black clawed hands, a sinewy prehensile tail, great bat wings, and cloven hooves at the end of his long legs. He does prefer one particular human face. That of a man he met nearly a century ago. On the whole he and the man looked very similar, minus the demonic traits. He also likes to portray a dancing girl he met even further back. She was dark of hair and eyes with olive skin bearing a golden undertone. He has several costumes he wears, all finery fluff, though he does have a set of common clothes for when he needs to move around quietly. Personality: Backstory: Mainly: -Your life so far -How did you end up with your magic item? -What is your motivation to adventure and stand against the Demon Kings army? Money? Fame? Love? Title? Maybe you just did some crime and got forced to go on a suicide quest to repay it? -Why you don't belong to any adventuring party right now? If you need any location or npc, feel free to make it up. As you can see, there are many unnamed spots on the map. If you already have a concept in mind but want it a bit more anchored in the current story, by being somewhere/ knowing someone, who is already established, feel free to ask.

I'm not particularly comfortable with sexy time in role playing anyway. That's a different kind of play and not my thing. This is just a profession and you may have noticed obliqueness of the language I used. No one writes long winded posts about woodworking. They just write that they are making a chair. Any wood I might be working with will not be discussed. Just that mischief was managed.

Then she held the snake up to me and it sank its fangs into my throat. And I died. I think I did anyway. It's the best explanation I've come up with. In any case, I found myself in the huge echoing hall of stone, not tied down or anything, and on a throne was this snake woman, the Lamia, about 12 feet tall and beautiful. It didn't matter that she was a snake from the waist down, on her it looked completely natural. She said that her world needed me, it needed a hero, and that I was perfect for the role. I mean, I couldn't say no really. Not without looking like a coward or a loser. So, I agreed. Then she offered me a gift (looking at rare item suggestions and saw this which looked . . . maybe too amazing?) Mizzuin Plate Armor: This suit of armor is reinforced with a magically enhanced metal alloy called mizzium, which is made in Izzet foundries. While you're wearing the armor, any critical hit against you becomes a normal hit. In addition, when you are subjected to a magical effect that allows you to make a Strength or Constitution saving throw to take only half damage, you instead take no damage if you succeed on the saving throw.

Additional personality flaw: Cricket might partake in the imbibing of spirits a bit more than is particularly wise or healthy. Additional combat flaw: Lil' Bit - Goblins are Tiny creatures, but Cricket is small even for a goblin. Normal rules for Tiny creatures apply, but in addition, Cricket is so weak she needs to hold even light weapons two-handed and can't get armour on. One skill with anti-proficiency: Persuasion. Cricket is unfamiliar with the fine art of negotiation and subtlety. She can't quite wrap her head around the concept that calling someone a 'Big Stupid Face' isn't going to bring them around to your way of thinking. Appearance: Cricket is a tiny little thing, just under 2-1/2 feet tall and weighing around 20 lbs. She has light green skin, long black hair, and yellow eyes, with tiny fangs and long, tapered ears. Many people think she's actually pretty cute, especially for a goblin, which she often uses to her advantage. Just as many people think that she would be kinda cute if she didn't look so cray-cray. Her clothes are darker tones, both for practical purpose of sneaking and staying hidden, as well as the fact that she's not much for doing laundry. She wears a dagger at her side, though on her it looks more like a longsword. She also uses a hand crossbow that looks more like an arbalest in her hands. Personality: Cricket is pretty cheerful, in general, as she tends to take things in stride very well. She has a bit of a chip on her shoulder about anyone who thinks they're better than she is, or who she thinks might think they're better than she is. This is usually reserved for the wealthy and those in positions of authority, though she doesn't mind telling off a particularly snotty bouncer (usually while being tossed out). She doesn't bother rationalizing her profession with silly philosophies like 'distribution of wealth', 'needs management', or 'reallocation of goods'. The laws never did much for her, so why should she pay attention to them? That being said, she does have a surprisingly straight moral compass when it comes to how you treat folks. She's not much of a killer, physical limitations aside. She doesn't like to see people suffer, and she enjoys helping those who somehow managed to be even less fortunate than her. She doesn't really think much about tomorrow, since she's just trying to make it through today. If she did, however, she might wish for a better life for herself, and possibly someone to share it with. A bit of comfort and security would be nice as well, and maybe...just maybe...a little respect.   Backstory: Cricket is the rather unfortunate by-product of a drunken encounter between a clurichaun and a goblin. Both were in the cellar of a tavern because the barkeep allowed them to drink from the spill bucket if they stayed out of the way. One fateful night, the barkeep crawled just as deeply into his cups as his patrons, so there was a lot of spillage that night. By the time the barkeep staggered down the next morning, the cellar was an absolute disaster area and there was a half-naked goblin woman sprawled on the floor with her head halfway in a tankard. The goblin was unceremoniously tossed into the street, and the fully-naked fae that had gone unnoticed nearby eventually woke and vowed to give up drinking (which he did...for about three hours.) Cricket was born a few months later and began her life on the streets. Life was hard for two goblin girls on their own, but Cricket never really thought of herself as unfortunate or poor. She knew others had it better, but she also knew people who had it worse. Her Ma taught her all kinds of neat survival tricks, like distracting someone with a walking handstand so her Ma could drop something on their head, then robbing them blind. Or 'going fishing' where they would climb up a lantern post or bridge, then try to snag coin purses from belts with a hook on a string. Or the fun game where you go rat hunting, then litter a shop with the dead rats until the shop owner gave you money to stop. Fun things like that! Alas, the fun was short-lived when Cricket's Ma was caught and arrested. Cricket was worried for her Ma, for awhile, but after several weeks of visiting the cell window, Cricket learned from her Ma that she had seduced one of the guards (don't ask). "He gonna help me escape!" her mother bragged proudly. "Next few days, I'm outta here! We gonna leave this crap town and take off somewhere new!" "That's great, Ma!" Cricket exclaimed, clapping happily. "Where we going?" Ma fixed her with a skeptical look. "We ain't going nowhere!" she replied, wiggling a finger between them. "See ya around...good luck, kid." Well, that sucked. Fortunately, Cricket had made enough friends to have a support network and was able to continue on by herself for several years. She also developed a serious relationship with alcohol, helped by the fact that most tankards came up to her knees (yay, cheap drunk!). But the problem with going solo, or only having temporary pair-ups, is that there's nobody you can really trust to watch your back, or pull you out of situations that might not be beneficial to your health and well-being. For example, if Cricket had a steady partner, said partner might've pointed out the foolishness of trying to burglarize a tavern while you were drunk, and while the tavern was still open. Cricket was caught green-handed holding the day's earnings and a bottle of expensive wine while perched precariously over an open barrel of ale. The sudden cry of, "Hey! What're you doing?!" startled Cricket, who - despite rather masterful windmilling of arms - tipped over into the barrel with a *splash*. As Cricket bobbed to the surface for a gasp of air, she felt the barrel lid closing on top of her. "Wanted some ale, did ya?" she heard the muffled voice of the innkeeper from outside the darkness. "There ya go...drink up!" She heard heavy footsteps thumping away and a muttered, "Damn...barrel's ruined now. Then again...who's gonna know?" To her credit, Cricket did manage to drain an impressive amount of ale before she grew too tired to tread water ale. The irony of dying from the very thing that caused her birth was not lost on Cricket as she slipped out of consciousness. Cricket's memory of what happened after that is a bit fuzzy. She thinks she remembers talking to some tall, beautiful elf lady who seemed to find something funny. Cricket had tried to come up with a clever retort, but only managed to mumble, "Ohhh yeah? Well...thass...when youuu ain't even doin'...stuff?...cuz...waffurblunglemrrff..." "How are you still drunk, even after death?" wondered the woman with a chuckle. "Welll..." returned Cricket, "how izz yer face still...sooo...wait, huh? Dead?" The woman had laughed then and gave a speech that Cricket really didn't pay much attention to, something about returning and fate and being amused. Blah blah blah try not to waste this second chance, etc., etc. Then there was a whoooosh and Cricket found herself face-down in a street somewhere. And sober. Dammit. -What deity sent you to the new world? The Summer Queen, Tatiana. -What gift did you ask them for to aid your journey? She was too drunk to ask for anything intelligible, so Tatiana gave her a ring of free action. -Why are you trying to be a hero? Cricket doesn't see herself as a hero. She just wants money, fame, and power, maybe while actually trying to do some good in this big ol' crapsack of a world.

Okay, so I read the requirements but none of the apps or responses, so this is an extremely wild stab at acceptance:

My character's name is Luke Evans from Earth. He's the son of went by Zach Wyld in album creditsZach Evans, lead guitar player for Ozzy Osbourne for over a decade. He can make the electric guitar croon like John Mayer, dropping the high-school girl's panties so ridiculously. Had an entourage every year of high school (now in senior year) who would loyally beat-up anyone I pointed my finger at just for Luke disappeared with the first two3rd choice of women at parties. As a result, he's never been in a real fight in his life or even practiced without plugging into an amp and effectsacoustically. He's ready to be sit down hard, having his self-important perspective absolutely shattered. Definitely a bard, though.

the player nowI sadly have a middle-school sense of humor that involves fart, poop, and dick jokes. I'll try to elevate from time to time when possible. What do you think? Are my chances good enough to exert more effort, or would you like completely differentanother pitch? I'm honestly not that worried about many of the details, e.g. what magic item I end up with, what my sorry stats and combat abilities turn out to be, etc.

I feel like this could be a fun environment where we're encouraged to and even steal some from Robert Bevan at timesmake jokes and laugh at our own character's ineptitude without becoming frustrated. Please let me know. If you don't immediately hate the idea of me as a player, I'm happy to re-apply in a different way, too. This was just the first thing that came to mind.
