About the Player Player Name: Vathe (he/him) About Me: I've been playing different RPGs for about ten years now. My comfort class is rogue, and my favorite fantasy books are Conan and the Wheel of Time. Game Goals: I want to rescue someone from danger, and get paid for mapping the keep. Very simple things, but very important.

About the Character Igabell Winters (he/him) Ancestry Background Class Alignment Deity Human Scout Ranger Lawful Erathis Character Description: A calm and methodical man who has grown well into his elder years. Igabell was far more athletic in his youth, but, despite his pale hair and the crook in his back, he can give most young men a run for their money. Character History: Igabell Winters has been a scout for the people near and around Fallcrest for decades; most often as a trail guide and trapper. Recently, a burglar broke in to his house while he was out on an expedition, leaving the old man seriously out of sorts (and quite angry too). To remedy the situation, Igabell decided to take that mapping job he'd seen at the tavern the other night. It seemed easy — and quite lucrative.

Here's a VERY important question.

Do lollipops exist in this world? I thought it would be amusing if my healer would hand over one after she has healed someone. These would be the same lollipops they used to hand out at banks and doctor's offices. They had those little paper handles and the actual candy tasted like a mix of paper and glass. She would just have a bundle of these in her backpack.

Just bumping up this thread. Shadowdark is a great gaming system that allows for creative play in the realms of fantasy tropes and standards. Starter manuals are legally free online--you'll love it!!

Absolutely. And if you're more used to 5e D&D, getting into Shadowdark will be pretty easy. It's rather like a stripped-down 5e.

Character Name and Pronouns: Stur Fungalsworn, he/him Ancestry: Dwarf Background: Class: Wizard Alignment: Neutral Deity: The Raven Queen Character Appearance: Stur doesn’t care much for personal grooming or hygiene, but has a warm smile and a mischievous twinkle in his eye. He has a thick, knotted, tangled beard, usually has thick layers of dirt under his thick fingernails. He wears a thick leather apron in which he keeps his knives, woodworking tools, and magical implements. Character Bio: Stur Fungalsworn sells mushroom and fungal blooms he grows in his cellar, as well as what he forages in nearby forests and graveyards. He is a decent cook and a reliable friend. When he was much younger, he was inducted into a death cult that worshipped the Raven Queen and had a deadly obsession with fungus. Though he was able to escape the cult and that lifestyle, he still has a much less fervent faith in the Raven Queen, and still enjoys mushrooms.
