Plot Summary After eons of scheming, the King of Nightmares has banished the Queen of Dreams from the Dreamlands. He had help in his endeavors from wicked dreamers who possess great power in the Dreamlands. These wicked dreamers have spawned nightmares that protect the scattered tarot cards that can bring the Queen back. The Minor Arcana lead to the Major Arcana, and the Major Arcana are the keys to returning the Queen of Dreams to her rightful place. Before claiming the Major Arcana, you must defeat a nightmare or solve a puzzle. Once you've assembled the Major Arcana, you must challenge the King of Nightmares and defeat him to return the Queen of Dreams to her rightful place. The Major Arcanas act as a prize for completing quests, dungeons, etc. They provide additional powers or bonuses to the players. The Minor Arcanas act as keys to content and sometimes as maps or compasses pointing to new locations or secrets. Once all the Major Arcanas are collected, the final confrontation will begin, and the game will conclude. Argh, shame this is using the 2024 rules otherwise I'd be interested, but as it is I am yet undecided as to whether I am going to take the plunge into the murky waters of D&D 2024 at all.

Fangpi Name: Salim Johnson Profession: High school student Interests: Gaming, rapping, anime Description: Salim was chunky, he was stout, heavy, big boned, clinically obese. Whatever, it didn't bother him. Except that it did. He didn't mind the way he looked, what he minded was not being able to keep up athletically. When his friends were playing basketball or football or whatever, he was always the tail ender as in "okay, you take Salim and Georgie and I'll take Malcolm." He wanted to be the fast one, the leaping over buildings one, like a superhero or a wuxia. Personality: Salim is outgoing, talkative, extremely talkative, prone to giggling at inappropriate times like during one of Ms. White's math tests. He's basically a good kid but frequently in trouble anyway for playing too much, talking too much, having too much fun, paying too little attention. But he's okay with that; as long as he's having a good time. And, if you ever need someone to hang out with and play video games or if you wonder who sent you those really inappropriate jokes on a burner account, you can bet that Salim is one of the first guys you think of. Home Life: Salim lives with his mother and his little sister, Jasmine, who is only 10. His mom works in the public schools as an events coordinator, his dad, when he's working, DJ's and drives for Uber. They were divorced around 4 years ago and his mom is frequently upset at his dad who she claims is always behind on his child support. Dad stays in their lives though, every second weekend and summer vacations, and does his best though even Salim can tell he's pretty clueless at the whole responsible adult thing though. Salim has a decent circle of friends that all do a lot of gaming, hooping, and television; all in all, life is pretty good. Name: Fangpi Class: Monk Race: Dwarf Background: Sailor Starting feat: Tavern Brawler Alignment: Chaotic Good Weapons: staff, open hand, throwing spikes Proficiencies: acrobatics, insight, perception, stealth Tool kits: cooking, navigation (he has a book of star charts) Description: Fangpi is a chunky, short-bearded dwarf with typically Southern Chinese features. His movements are always smooth and controlled and he is capable of great speed both short burst and sustained. He's also a master of drinking games and bad jokes. Blame his mother, who nicknamed him Fangpi ("fart or talking nonsense") which caught on until no one calls him anything else. He likes to play with open flames and open water and hopes to become a Warrior of the Four Elements. Backstory: Growing up poor like all true heroes, Fangpi ran away to go to sea early on. Although he was quick and acrobatic on the mast lines, he found his true nautical calling as a cook. Always cheerful, generous, never sick, he became a popular man on the crew. When he left the ship and came ashore, he made his way as a tavern cook and occasional bouncer, until finally ending up in the Temple of the Elements that had started in the ruins of the once great Moon City.

It's the logical step for children to do so. To become more than you think you are. Perhaps they'll realize they are made of greater stuff than they think.
