@BlackDragon0
There are multiple things with your character sheet that need to be resolved.

For starters, Force-Sensitive give you 2 at-will force powers, but I don't see these listed on your sheet anywhere.

Secondly, while you added Pilot and Lore to the Skills/Proficiencies, you missed (at a minimum) Technology. Please make sure all of the skills are accounted for, whether or not you are proficient.

Also, please list out the equipment in the Explorer's pack. If it isn't on your sheet, even if you have a pack listed that it should be part of, you don't have it.

Finally, where did you pick up Jar'Kai from? I don't see anything in your character that shows you should have a lightsaber form...but I'm old and blind, so it's possible I missed it!

To your point about only Force-Sensitive applications: If this turns out to be a solo game, I will kill the game before it starts. I get that everyone wants to play Jedi, but that's not what this game is about. If all that applies are Jedi, then the game won't happen.

Eavesdropping a bit, updated my character sheet to list out the contents of the explorer's pack.

I doubt you'll get only Jedi applications. There are many who find spacers, mandos, and crack pilots, etc. more interesting than space wizards. Heck, I'm surprised there aren't more Mandalorian applications already, as that was a tempting alternative, since this is literally the era when Mandalorian culture was at its prime, not a secret cult or an aesthetic cobbled together from memory, tradition, and mythology. Plus in the wake of the Mandalorian Wars and the looming Sith threat there were Mandos who sided (however temporary that may have meant to be) with the Republic against a common enemy and these fraught alliances and the harboring of old animosities is fertile ground for good RP. Hopefully I'm not proven wrong, but there will be more non-jedi applications!

My guess is that I opened this up on the weekend, and a lot of people probably don't check in here on the weekend. I fully expect to get some apps this week!

At-Will powers are effectively Cantrips and should go in the spellcasting section. I didn't see them there, which is why I asked. Can you please move them to the spellcasting section?

The Force Adept background gives you a feat, and for that you took Force Sensitive. That feat is what gives you the 2 At-Will powers we are discussing above. At 1st level, the Sentinel class doesn't grant you another Feat, and your species doesn't grant you one either. Where are you seeing that each level 1 gets a feat? Or a skill or ability at +1, for that matter?

Jal Vik

Name: Jal Vik
Race: Human
Class/Subclass: Engineer, Armormech (eventually)

Mechanical Background:
Mandalorian (Weapon Expert)
Trait: I keep a small trophy on me to remind me of a past victory
Ideal: I live by my clans ways, and will continue to do so
Bond: Honor is everything to me
Flaw: I'll stick to my traditions no matter what, even at the cost of others

Appearance:
What people see of Jal is his armour, as it would never come off in public. He bears the traditional colours of blue and gold as is custom for the Vik clan, and his weaponry holds the same colours too. His left shoulder is currently bare as he is awaiting his first major kill to signify him as a full adult member of his clan, but the small scratches on his armour speak of someone who's at least a skilled warrior

Personality: Jal is quiet, but not because he's a grim and edgy loner type. Instead he's just more than happy to let people talk while he works on his latest project for his armour or his combat abilities. He's very firm in his ways, not wishing to deviate from his clan at all, but that hasn't stifled his inventive skills and improvisational talents. Always a man with a plan, and one that won't sacrifice his allies if possible, he's got a hidden heart of gold and most importantly a sound mind

Backstory:
Jal crew up among the clan of Vik, Mandalorians who despite being mercenaries had a surprisingly intense code of honour even by Mandalorian standards. Any oath they took they would stake their life on, and accomplish it or die trying. Naturally the first any took was to uphold the clan and its traditions above all, but they had many binding oaths to other clans or individuals who helped the Vik clan in the past, as well as members of the clan taking on personal oaths or contracts with various members of the galactic conflict. Sometimes this lead to members of the clan being on opposite sides of a conflict and even killing each other due to their staunch traditions, but they always made sure to bring their bodies back to the Vik clans home and bury them with all the proper honours a warrior who died in battle deserves.

Not being the best warrior among his peers growing up, Jal found himself relying on a mix of intellect and improvisation to win his fights and win them he did. Many nights he could be found alone, tinkering away with his armor, weaponry, and some tech he cobbled together in order to gain an advantage over his peers. As a result he proved a slightly strange but very capable Mandalorian warrior and at the age of 18 was sent out into the galaxy in order to prove himself alone, so that he would not be a burden but instead an asset to his clan and people. During his ventures he's mostly hunted small prey, a minor thief here or a rogue beast there, but now he's craving a bigger fight, something worthy of a Mandalorians time....

RP Sample:
Jal watched his prey with patience. He'd been searching through the jungle like terrain for the young rogue Varactyl that had been terrorising the farmers for some time, ripping through their crops and livestock alike. His fingers were the only thing moving, adjusting his Wristlauncher flamethrower as he worked out a way for it to orbit the fire around him, his mind kept busy as his natural instincts took over. Time passed unnoticed as he watched the entrance to the farm, knowing this was the entrance it always took and that he was well hidden from it. Finally, after many moments the Varactyl decided now was the time to make a move. Its mistake. He dropped down on it from above and in one clean motion cleaved its head from its body

He gathered up the corpse and returned to the farmer with a nod, who seemed more than happy to pay him for his work now that the beast was dealt with

"Thank you kind sir, you've done a lot for us. Now we can get back to our livelyhoods"

Jal nodded, not really wanting to speak but he did hold out his hand for the payment, just a little awkwardly

"A yes, one second"

The farmer handed him over the collective funds him and the other farmers nearby put together, to which Jal nods again his time in appreciation and leaves, taking with him a broken part of the beak with him as a trophy of his kill

Tool Proficiencies (Because I am dummy and forgot to add them): Cybertech's Implements, Armormech's Implements, Tinker's Implements

Jahzul

Name: Jahzul Darkruby
Race: Zeltron
Class: Fighter (Duelist Style)
Subclass: Exhibition Specialist
Background: Companion

Trait: I'm better than those who are more prim and proper, and I'm having more fun.
Bond: My independence is the most important thing in my world.
Ideal: Hedonism. I fill my urges when and where I wish.
Flaw: I am suspicious of anyone who tries to be nice to me. They only want me to sleep with them

Appearance: Jahzul has dark red skin, a deep crimson. His hair is a light red or copper. It hangs loose with a slight wave reaching down his shoulders. His eyes are a hazel, perhaps a tad more yellow than normal. His is well muscled and lean with very little body fat thanks to his constant sword practice. He wears standard armor and shield when in battle out of practicality, but would prefer to do without. Especially when he practices, he strips down to minimal clothing, enjoying the freedom of movement. And taking not more than a little pride in his physique.

Jahzul's sword style or actions are often reminiscent of a fire. Beautiful and burning, dangerous and yet fascinating.

Personality: Jahzul, like most Zeltron, is a man of many desires. Many would say he is typical of his race, seeking to explore the galaxy at large, experiencing everything it has to offer. He find beauty in motion, in dance. Later, he found beauty in the dance of battle. Blade meeting blade, opponents circling each other in grace. There is beauty even in brutality. Jahzul wants to experience it all.

Character Background: Jahzul knew that he had talent from the day he was born. Movement and grace fascinated him. There was much to learn on Zeltros. Dance and music were fine when he was younger. But the first time he witnessed a true duel, he was fascinated. Though some considered it barbaric, Jahzul saw grace, flowing motion, skill, tempo, and yes, a kind of beauty in brutality. From there on, he trained with the blade. Always seeking greater challenge. Only challenge could truly push him to greater highs of his art.

After training in the Dance of the Blade, he left Zeltros and started wandering. Going from world to world, starship to starship. He supported himself both the art of battle and the art of Companionship his people are so well known for. But always he pushed to find new techniques, new way of expressing his art, and find joy in all things.

However, even for one as dedicated to his art as Jahzul, the darkness the spreads across the galaxy is obvious even to him. He practices his art for himself, for the thrill of the violent dance. But this beautiful brutality can also serve a purpose, a greater good.

And I've got some feedback this morning!

@BlackDragon0
Thank you for updating your sheet! I've marked you as finished!

@Roxxdude
Can you help explain how you ended up with your attributes? The standard array is 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8, and I'm failing to do the math on how you ended with 18, 14, 14, 12, 12, 8. You'd need to get +3, +1, and +2 (15+3=18, 13+1=14, 10+2=12), and I cannot see how that is done.

@Mitsubachi
Don't worry about you applying with the same concept or class as someone else. Everyone will have the chance to shine in this game!

Application: Daizra Lah, Echani Monk
right-aligned image
Name: Daizra Lah
Species: Echani
Age: 22
Gender: Female
Background:
  • Trait 1: Everything is a game and I play to win.
  • Trait 2: I never know how to act around people lacking in self-confidence.
  • Ideal: Dogged. When I set myself a target I won’t stop until the job is done.
  • Bond: I will be the one to catch Zorak Vode if it is the last thing that I do.
  • Flaw 1: I can be overconfident and rush in to things without being fully prepared.
  • Flaw 2: I blow off steam a little too enthusiastically and can easily lose track of time and credits.
Bounty Hunter
Class: Monk

Appearance
With ivory skin, silver-white hair and piercing blue eyes, Daizra stands out amongst most humans in the galaxy, though she would be lost in the crowd back on Eshan. She stands a modest 5'6" with a toned, athletic build and moves with an easy grace developed through a lifetime of martial arts training. On the job she prefers to wear practical dark clothing, often with a hood to cover her hair, so that she can more easily blend into the surroundings. When enjoying herself, however, she wears loose flowing dresses in bright colours.

Personality
It is fair to say that Daizra is competitive. Is she the most competitive ever to come out of Eshan? Well, no, maybe not… but she is still young so with some more practice maybe she will get there. She is by no means 'all business' though, she has a playful streak which comes out as gentle teasing with friends, or in the way she sometimes toys with her bounties, letting them think they have a chance of escaping.

Background
Emerging from the competitive martial arts circuit as a child, Daizra moved out into the galaxy intending to become a champion, to dominate. As it turned out though, when you are still in the minor leagues and waiting for your chance to hit the big time, you need another gig to pay the bills. That's how Daizra got into bounty hunting, just by chance, and she soon found out that she enjoyed it. She really enjoyed it.

One of the earliest bounties she took was for a fellow Echani, a man by the name of Zorak Vode who was wanted for a whole host of crimes including slave trading and murder. He was a big step up for Daizra, and perhaps the official who granted her the bounty thought she might have a better chance because she was Echani too. Whatever the case, she wasn't ready. She found the guy easily enough, watched him for a while, learned his habits, then struck, the way she always did. But Vode was ready for her. He must have been aware of her all along. She was left bruised and beaten and half-dead with a stark warning;

"Stay away, or next time I won't go so easy."

But Daizra was never known to back down so easily. She just needed to plan more carefully, maybe get a few allies, then next time she would be ready.

RP SampleThe seconds ticked by, the aqualish going about his business without the slightest indication that he knew Daizra was lodged in the shadows above his head. She had watched this brute for days, studying his patterns, his behaviour, and now was the moment to strike. By this time the rest of the tenants in the building should have gone home for the day so there would be nobody to interfere. All she had to do was wait for the target to move into position, closer to the door.

And wait, and wait… krif, he stank! Was that normal for an Aqualish? She hadn't had much contact with the species but surely there was something wrong here!

She watched as the guy shuffled over to the caf machine, smashing it on the side when it only sputtered out a thin drizzle of brown sludge. Okay, now you've got to go out for a refill, she thought, but apparently the guy had an other idea as he collected the dregs from half a dozen cups which had been lying around the room for who knows how many days. He's not going to..? Ugh, he is!

The Aqualish slurped the sludge through his tusks and then shook his head, making a guttural sound which had to translate to disgust.

Yeah, I could have told you not to drink that, dumbass!

Her arms and legs were burning now and she couldn't change position without disturbing dust and potentially giving herself away. She took a long, quiet breath and tried to force her muscles to relax. It can't be long now.

More minutes dragged by, and then the target looked up, turning around and scanning the ceiling. From her perch in the shadows Daizra could see how big and black his eyes were. In her research she had read about how Aqualish vision was more sensitive, adapted as it was to life under water. Could he see her?

Her mouth was dry and she was trying to figure out whether, if she took him by surprise right now, she could make it out of the door and escape before the thug could react. And then she heard it. Something scurrying around up her with her.

If some kriffing roach-rat gets me caught… But she couldn't finish the thought as the target was moving, his gaze following the scritching sound, as he reached out towards his blaster which was propped up… beside the door!

Siezing the moment, Daizra released her net, letting it fall and engulf the Aqualish. Before he had even registered what had happened she was down on the ground, pivoting on one foot as the other came around in a perfect arc to smash him on the side of the jaw. Tangled in the net, he crashed to the floor and she was on top of him, rolling him onto his side and getting one side of the binders onto his arm in a flash. He was angry now, bucking and shouting, straining against the netting, and, with a grim inevitability the net started to give way.

Daizra punched his pectoral muscle hard, weakening it for long enough that she could pull his other hand around, closing… the… other… binder… but no, he pulled away again, trying to roll to the side so his arm would be underneath him. She pushed one foot against the wall and used his other arm as a lever to keep him in place. For what seemed like an eternity they were stuck like that, straining against each other, but the Aqualish was much stronger so if she didn't find a way to break the deadlock soon there would be only one winner here.

Gambling she let go and quickly stood. The Aqualish rolled triumphantly onto his side, pulling what remained of the net over his head. He was kneeling now, facing her and making some noises which might have been laughter as he started to climb to his feet.

That was when she moved, pirouetting quickly and then jumping, knees tight against her chest, before she slammed them out with explosive force, sending both feet into his chest. He fell back, slammed into the wall and slid down, and as soon as he hit the floor she whipped a foot out to connect with his temple, sending him sprawling face-first across the floor.

And all was quiet. Sighing, Daizra straightened and shook her head.

"Why do they always have to make things harder for themselves?"

Application
right-aligned image
Name: Jayma Quin
Race: Human
Class: Scholar
Subclass: Slicer
Background: Spacer
Traits: My crewmates know they can rely on me, no matter what. The best way to get me to do something is to tell me I can't do it.
Bond: The Sith betrayed and murdered my captain and crewmates; I barely escaped with my life. Vengeance will be mine.
Ideal: Freedom. Space is freedom, the freedom to go anywhere and do anything.
Flaw: My sense of vengeance will probably lead to my destruction.

Appearance: Jayma is a tan-skinned Corellian woman of medium height, with dark hair falling just past her shoulders offset by her hazel eyes. Her sharp features are hardened by a life of struggle, though she maintains a mirthful look most of the time. She dresses in earth-toned spacer's gear, with a leather bomber jacket thrown over the top. She carries a pouch slung over her shoulder holding a slicer's kit, with an MK-3 blaster in the opposite holster. Calf-high boots adorn her feet to complete the outfit.

Personality: Jayma is naturally pleasant, with a side of sarcasm, though lately there has been an underlying anger and bitterness due to recent events. She knows her business, but she doesn't take herself too seriously; she's seen too much of space to feel that she's that big of a deal in the general scheme of things. She's determined, and when it comes to fighting the Sith, she's almost single-minded. Anything to hurt them is good, and she'll gladly risk her life to strike any blow she can against them.

She's a bit of a party girl when not working, though lately the partying has muted as she struggles with her feelings. She makes friends quickly and is quite social, though not exactly a socializer by nature. She prefers to remain partially aloof, one foot out the door. The stars are always calling, and she's got a job to do.

Background: Jayma was born in Coronet City, Corellia in 3976 BBY. Her father was an engineer for the Republic Navy who fought in the Mandalorian Wars, dying at the Battle of Serroco. Because of this, Jayma is not particularly fond of Mandalorians. Before shipping out, her father had already taught Jayma a lot about mechanical engineering, technology, and repairs. After her father's death, Jayma tarted getting into trouble as a response to her grief and loss, mostly mischief and petty crime, though she started to learn slicing to complement her mechanical skills; by sixteen, she was a full-blown techno-criminal. Her mother kicked her out, so she joined a spacer crew as a mechanic, also acting as their slicer.

Her crew was a small outfit that made their living stealing data and equipment and selling it to the highest bidder. At times, that also meant stealing from both the Sith and the Republic. At the time, Jayma couldn't care less about the struggle, as she partially blamed the Republic for her father's death. She considered herself and her crew beyond and outside of the system. They were just as happy to steal from the Republic and sell to the Sith as the other way around. The Sith paid better...when they deigned to pay at all, of course.

The problem with selling stolen information to those in power is that the customer may decide it easier to murder you and your entire crew than pay what was owed. This was the situation Jayma and her crew found themselves in when they tried to sell some schematics and equipment to the Sith; the Sith simply thanked them for the information and ordered them killed. Jayma was only able to get away by slicing the tractor beam and flying the ship away. Her ship was crippled during the escape, but she was able to limp to a nearby system and disappear for awhile while she healed...and nursed a grudge.

Now, no longer a neutral mercenary, she's a woman on a mission. Before, it was just business; now it's personal.

30-minute RP sample: Jayma tried to control her breathing, a labored, panicked pant as her pulse pounded in her temples. On the other side of the container she was ducked behind, she heard the screams of her crewmates mingled with the buzz of the lightsaber, sounding like an attack by giant wasps. The blaster sounds had all but ceased, not that shooting had done any good. The Sith just blocked the shots or deflected them back, then began cutting people down like a harvester of souls. Occasionally, the screams would be replaced by frantic begging for one's life, which did about as much good as the blasters. After a short, cruel laugh, the lightsaber would buzz again and the death scream would be brutally cut off.

Jayma knew she had to get out of there if she were to live. There were troops surrounding them, but none had fired a shot. Probably letting their boss have his fun, she thought, anger and fear cutting through her. One way or the other, this would be the last time she ever tried to cut a deal with the Sith. Looking around the container, she spotted the piece of equipment that had uncovered just before the slicing had begun - a portable tractor beam.If she was going to get clear, she had to take that out first. Then she had to get away from the Sith. Then she had to get to the ship. Then she had to get the ship out of range. Not great odds.

First things first, she thought, scooping out the slicer's kit from the pouch slung over her shoulder. As the Sith was finishing off the others, hunting them down where they hid, and dragging them back through the air when they ran, Jayma sprinted to the tractor beam, executing a running slide to get behind it. Attaching leads from her kit to the consol, her fingers moved faster than they ever had before as she rapidly cut through the tractor beam's security. She didn't have time to run tests or button anything up, she had to get out now! Tucking her kit into her pouch, she took a deep breath and counted, "One...two...three!"

Pushing off from the tractor beam, she bolted as fast as she could toward the ship. Troops whizzed by in her peripheral, and she expected a blaster bolt or lightsaber to hit her at any moment. Maybe yanked backwards and pulled through the air onto the waiting Sith's weapon...but somehow she made it to the ship. Scrambling inside, she hit the hatch button to close it and half-slid, half-ran to the cockpit. She jumped into the pilot's seat and furiously began startup.

As her hands flew over the controls, she looked up through the viewscreen. The Sith was just standing there, about twenty feet away, staring at her. Face lit up by the red glow of the saber, the Sith truly looked like a demon straight from hell, standing menacingly with hands lifted slightly to the side. Jayma stared in horror for a moment, her stomach lurching, before breaking the gaze and lifting off.

The Sith watched calmly as the ship began to rise, doing nothing at fist. His head swiveled slowly toward the tractor beam, then back toward the ship. He gave no order to use the beam; instead, he slowly lifted his off hand toward the ship, staring intently. I have a bad feeling about this... thought Jayma as the Sith grew smaller in the window.

Suddenly, the ship jerked to a stop, engines whining as they struggled against an unseen force. At first, Jayma thought she'd failed to disengage the tractor beam, until the terrible reality struck her. "They're not using the tractor beam," she muttered, looking down in horror. The Sith is holding me! He can actually hold a damn ship in place!

Fear gave way to anger, and there was plenty of it. "Oh, hell no!" Jayma yelled, switching to weapons systems. "Not without a fight, you don't!" Punching the trigger, Jayma activated the ship's blaster cannon, tucked under the nose of the craft. It wasn't much against other ships, but against a person...no, wait. Not a person. A Sith - the cannons were absolutely no guarantee.

The Sith brought his lightsaber up, deflecting the barrage of lasers coming at him. Fortunately, it was enough to occupy and distract him, forcing him to release the ship from his hold, and Jayma took advantage immediately. Hitting the thrusters full blast, she wheeled the ship and took off into atmosphere. Heavy weapons fire lit up the sky around her as the troops finally joined the fight. Jayma hadn't had time to throw up the deflectors, and they had at least one heavy blaster down there, because the ship rocked violently as damage reports and warnings lit the panel up like a beacon. Jayma had no intention of stopping or slowing down. "Let them blow me out of the sky, if they can," she muttered, setting course as best she could with a damaged navcomputer.

As the ship disappeared from view, the Sith watched impassively a moment, then casually extinguished the lightsaber, turning back towards the stolen goods that had been left.

Already miles high and rapidly increasing that distance, Jayma wiped her eyes with trembling hands, holding back tears and a primal scream of fear and rage. No time for that now, she chided herself, checking nearby systems for something familiar. Survive now. Revenge later.

Definitely revenge later.

Jayma is ready for review. The site character sheet link is in her name, and the pic links to the SW5 online character sheet.
