Wow, really? Your summons seem to be bad at this...
Though in this case I think I'll allow you to change your action. Rilibast will act before you, and his attack will drop the goblin. You could save an ability usage by instead applying those rolls to a failed coup de grace (and you didn't confirm the crit miss so there's no harm to you).

I'll just have the rat go after the next closest goblin. Dire Rats arn't especially good at anything but spreading filth fever anyway ^_^
I'm ok with the nat 1 anyway. It happens. |

I'm going to post anyway though, just in case =P |

Heya. Posting now. I've not lost interest, I assure you. Nor am I combat weary. I did have a family emergency that has distracted me for the last several days, though. I apologise.

A bit late tonight for an update, but I may do one tomorrow afternoon if rilibast posts. This will not replace the one for Saturday, it'll just be an extra.

The google documents issue isn't just you; it's making me download it as well. Though I can see it perfectly fine in the thumbnail version they have on there =P

Whoa whoa whoa whoa there Pilgrim.
I'm sorry. What the hell is this? I have to take issue here. I'm not complaining about failing a Will save. We're first level. I expect us to fail more saves than we pass. No, what I'm pissed off about is that you rolled MY Will save. Are you going to roll my attack rolls next? You irked me when you rolled my Initiative to, but I went with it quietly since I figured you just wanted to get the battle rolling. So be it. I expect you wouldn't roll my dice at the tabletop (well, I hope anyway). Why would you do that here? To keep the combat running? In play by post, if you had ASKED me if it was okay to roll saves to keep things from bogging down I would have been happ.y to say yes. But to take a measure of control of my character away arbitrarily(charms, domination, and mental control not withstanding) is a very poor move in my book. Rules Quibble. I call shenanigans. The Sleep spell... Its a 1 round action (beginning of character's turn to beginning of character's next turn) to cast it, meaning that the warchanter could not get a sleep spell off until the beginning of her next turn; which incidentally gives the party a chance to disrupt her spell(unless she was casting in the previous round, in which case Able and any other character who could see and/or hear her would have been entitled to a reflexive Spellcraft check to identify the spell as it was being cast. I don't believe this to be the case. The way you've written it screams 'standard action' or possibly 'full round cast', which is different from 1 round). Thems the breaks of 1 round cast.

I apologize - I figured that since a save was reactionary, it would be okay for me to roll it. Same with Knowledge checks and Perception checks, usually. It keeps the game flowing better, and I would be making them for you anyhow in cases of secret effects. But in the future I'll let you make rolls for things you are aware of. While the issue has been brought up, does anybody else have a problem with me making reflexive rolls?
As for the casting time... I was reading 1 round and thinking full round. Believe it or not I rarely see Sleep being cast - when someone else in my tabletop group plays a caster, they usually go for direct damage, and when I have played one, we are usually a few level higher and sleep loses some utility. Oops. So be it - she's still casting, and I'll back things up to your turn. Since the cat's out of the bag, I see no particular reason to ask for Spellcraft checks. Zantus will still move forward to do some healing, just realize he's a bit farther back during Able's turn. Did you want to amend your action, or leave it as is for tomorrow's update? Last thing, let me clarify map icon colors so there won't be any confusion on that. A stony grey border for the enemies, or a brown border for PCs/allies, means the character in question is conscious and capable. A red border means the character is down, but not dead - this could be either bleeding or stable, but either way they have negative hp and are unconscious. If the image is in B&W, including the center picture, the character is dead. In the future, I plan to use the red border for death as well, since during combat it would be pretty much impossible to tell the difference between death and unconsciousness. (Of course, you could stop and make a heal check, or use the deathwatch spell.) You also won't get info on who is bleeding or stable under normal conditions.

I went and did a quick edit to my post to reflect the knowledge that Able knows of the spellcasting. I did not change my actions though.
As for the rolling, like I said, if you had asked me before hand then I wouldn't have had a problem with it. Sleep? Yeah, that 1 round cast is pretty slow at low levels. Better to use Color Spray which has a slightly larger area of effect and a far more debilitating consequence for failure. Sleep does have its uses though. Taking out unaware people for example. Sleep and Color Spray are the most powerful first level arcane spells utility-wise. Grease can be pretty nasty as well at about 2nd level when it sticks around long enough to actually hinder people. Moreso if the party has a rogue.

I've no problem with you rolling for me. Anything that keeps combat rolling is a plus in PbP.

Oh, and I forgot to ask earlier (waaaaay earlier >.>); have you been taking Edi's chain shirt into account in combat? Because he wouldn't be wearing it, for the same reason he didn't bring his dagger. Though I think he's only been attacked once so far and it resulted in a hit anyway, so hopefully this won't have any effect on what's happened =P

Heh, I've read that post 4 times and I missed that particular typo each time. I'll be more vigilant in the future Pilgrim.
