I don't see anything about the character which would make him a Drizzt clone. Get over yourself and make what kind of character you want, regardless of whether or not a famous character in the Forgotten Realms happens to dual-wield sabers.

Some people appreciate their own uniqueness/originality above, well, lots of other factors. In fact, I'm one of them. I still find myself refusing to do things just because other people are doing it. >_<

Then again, I've never been in a situation where I could be compared to the legendary Drizzt, or my life might have turned out very differently...

In short, everyone has a reason. Even if it makes no sense to other people. I just kinda nod my head and assume they know what they're doing. They usually do.

Yes. And muggins does have a point - the character's description offers absolutely no comparisons with anyone else. Rather, it was the blip in the goals section which led me to think this through.

Combat-wise, all i knew i wanted for him from the get-go was not to be your standard bow user / hunter type. Since then I've polished the concept up a bit and wanted to say that publicly.

As for getting over myself, I'm trying, but it doesn't work most of the time :-)

I've reviewed Muggins', JasonWFD's, and Hitman's character sheets. If anyone else is ready to have me double check their sheet, let me know in this thread.

Muggins and JasonWFD, your characters are good to go.

Hitman, Blacktalon's sheet says he's starting with 1000xp. Nice try. Other than that, he looks good to go.

Patricia will fill the role of ranged support, striker and (partial) skillmonkey/face, so there shouldn't be much of a problem here.

Actually, after looking over your sheet I've come to the conclusion that our characters complement each other quite nicely, only the perceptions overlap. My sheet will be up within the hour, and then all that's left is to see how Captain Devonim's volatile automaton girl fits in.

Your character is terrifying (took me awhile to trace where all the skill bonuses were coming from)... But, it does check out. However, you may want to get rid of Improved Initiative and replace it with another feat. Because we're play by post, I just have the PCs all go, then the enemies (unless you're ambushed, of course).

Sure, I'd be glad to offer my opinion. However, I'm not very familiar with the base classes, having never used them or read much about them. So for specifics, I'll have to sit down and brief myself on the class.

In general, it looks like our party all has people who either prefer to stay away from close combat or skirmishers at best. While I'm likely going to turn Darren into a versatile combatant with ranged and melee options, he won't be a typical front-line combatant by any means, and could be easily swarmed. So, any abilities or strategies that could enhance our defenses or cover our tactical weakness might be helpful IMO.

But, really, I agree with DaMavster. It's your character, do what you want! Whatever feels best for you, go with it. As long as you're enjoying your character, that's what matters.
