Anansi will wait for a bit. I'm interested to hear what the guard has to answer.

My interwebs have been down since sometime wednesday(the day I planned to update most of my games) and the comcast people were being inept, so it only got repaired earlier today.

FYI, for practical reasons, I will henceforth be rolling d20s, rather than 3d6 for your enemies. I will still roll 3d6 for your "secret checks" unless you are electing to use d20s in the game.

Well, technically, you can use d20 if you prefer so long as you consistently use it. If you choose to use 3d6, then yes it does. This also means they can naturally roll two points lower. However, more importantly, the whole distribution of chance is different. The problem with 3d6 for a DM is it makes it so that i cant field a group of lower CR enemies effectively against the party. They just never hit with their puny strikes, making them never a challenge. So rather than just having you face off against a singular enemy of an appropriate CR all the time, I will return to 1d20. It makes it so you are not rewarded for charging into an army of footsoldiers and demolishing them singlehandedly.

Did Istovir do anything? It might be a nice time for a casting of magic missile...
