The knight meets her shifted eyes with a smile. Moving to her side, he reaches up a hand to gently scratch behind her ears. Louis agilely hops onto Aira, and the knight's wards envelop her. He suggests they try the iron door in answer to her query. "'Twill more likely lead to the lower levels we seek."
Barring objection, they canter to the door, and he reaches his hand up ... and stops. Pulling out a oil flask, he pours an oil drop on each of the door hinges to quiet them. Putting it away, then, he opens the door.

The door opens up in what appears to be a large kitchen. Cabinets line the west wall, several stoves and a long cutting table the east. Two large tables occupy the center, the northernmost one containing over a dozen covered dinner plates, while the southernmost one lies mostly bare save what appears to be an alchemy lab. A strange place for it, but hardly the most distressing thing in the room. The room smells of rancid food and pestilence, though it's faded somewhat, as if it were partially covered or masked.

"Indeed, most curious," replies the knight taking in the room. He reaches for one of the covered dishes ... but Aira's tail knocks it over. Bracing himself, Louis listens for sound of approaching footsteps. "Look about to see if you can sort out what they're working on, but with haste, m'lady," he whispers, "Then, we have to get going."

Aira knows food all too well, and her scent immediately recognizes the rotting smell as that of wasted food, emitting from the cabinets. She quickly realizes that opening them will inevitably release the full disgusting stench of spoiled food, and that it's probably a poor idea to do so. Also, her eyes notice that while the room is clearly rarely used, it looks like the alchemy lab was only recently placed, and from the looks of it, has been recently used. Small green droplets still cling to the edge of the glass, and the bottom of the Erlenmeyer Bulb is still warm to the touch.
As she comes back to report her findings, however, she clips the northern table, dropping one of the plates to the ground, where it clatters loudly. A couple seconds later, you hear the sound of armored boots clomping down the hall!

Looking around a moment, Aira mentions her findings. A moment later, Aira squinched her nostrils at the foul smell. The smell was strong enough to make her shift slightly in discomfort as her tail knocked over the dish.
As the sound of armored feet is heard, her ears droope slightly. You could hide and I can act like im eating off a plate. "No, of hiding we've little skill and much less opportunity in this room," Louis answers. Hopping back on Aira's back, he adds: "We'll go with trying to catch the guards unaware." Brandishing his sword, the angelkin douses his halo, ready actionpreparing to reillumine the gloom at the sound of Aira's numbing breath weapon. "Be wary; the ogre patrols we've seen come in pairs," whispers Louis.

Aira nodded and proceeded to get into a tatical position. Once the Ogres are close to the door, she moves to just inside the doorway. This way she can breathe and capture everything in the hall while blocking the entrace doorway at the same time. (See previous post for details)
