Creating Encounters- DnD 5e - DM Guide question

Can some explain the steps of creating a easy to deadly encounter in 5e dungeons and dragons? A little confused.

Not a quick answer to that. Need to consider the players and the characters you are running for.

Example- four PC party, first level with an average of 10 HP each, a monster that does 4d6+4 damage per hit with two attacks a round could be deadly.

But same party versus one 8 HP bandit with no armor and a rusty short sword should be easy.

So, start with the party. How many and what level characters? Standard stats and equipment?

Well Zevonian I was reading dmg for 5e and there is a threshold with experience points that's somewhat confusing I'm just wondering how to calculate threshold with multiplier. I think it's page 81 of dungeon masters guide.

So you're asking about a specific section of the DMG? Would you want your thread title edited to reflect that?

Thread title changed. Some RPGs other than DnD have Fifth editions of their own. Now anyone quickly browsing titles will know which system and book you meant.
