From what I can tell the sub race option is just... more wealthy.

There is a lot of overlap with the dwarves (i.e. names, virtues, etc.)
Technically both subraces of the Dwarves of the Lonely Mountain are also represented as separate cultures as well. The Erebor subrace actually defines them as coming from the Blue Mountains (which also has its own culture). The bottom line is that the Dwarves of the Lonely Mountain have come from various other dwarven holds to form a mixed bag of dwarves from various locations that all answered the call to retake Erebor. Because of this, they are more prosperous due to the dragon horde and good trade. These dwarves should use the Lonely Mountain culture. The dwarves that remained behind (Blue Mountain, Iron Hills, etc.) should use their unique cultures. Does that make sense? Last edited by Silent Rain; Apr 21st, 2020 at 03:34 PM. |

Yes it does and I think I can make that work with a tweak to my backstory.

Okay after circling through every type of dwarf this side of Mordor I think I have my sheet done and I just have my stat block left.

Stat block is just about done; just gotta pick out my equipment and starting virtue. I'm a little stuck on which one to take between Endurance of the Dúnedain, Foresight of Their Kindred, and Sterner Than Steel.

I was leaning toward that one honestly. Foresight of Their Kindred seems more generally useful, but StS gives me an extra point of wisdom and doesn’t cost inspiration to use.

Endurance would be an easy pick if it didn’t cost inspiration,, though that one also seems more generally applicable depending on how often I should worry about corruption VS how often I should worry about getting knocked down to 0 HP.

@Avner Sheet looks good. Vidar is a going to be one tough nut to crack. 21 AC at 1st level. Got to love those +4 shields.

I have a question concerning multiclassing; how does gaining proficiencies from the new class work exactly? I tried looking it up, but I could only find a reddit post saying that the rules as written are, when first taking a level in a new class, a player selects two proficiencies from the new class. I couldn't find where it says that anywhere in the book though.

Given how tough AiME is reputed to be, I can certainly see how advantageous it would be to be able to multiclass into Warrior (for Second Wind), even if only for 1 level.

Concerning Multiclassing:
Beyond the ability score requirement needed to multiclass, the rules in AiME for multiclassing are nonexistent. I am also aware of Reddit's consistency with stating "selecting two proficiencies' as the RAW, despite the fact that I cannot locate which book this came from. On that note, I will stick to the choose any two proficiences from the new class (EXCEPT Saving Throws) when multiclassing. |

I've never seen the lure for multiclassing. I rarely ever play a game that gets deep and I just wanna get to the uber abilities later on haha. I want to get to Legolas' proficiency

Nolmendil either scouts ahead or -if Solveig serves the caravan‘s scout- accompanies Baldor, probably near the middle of the caravan.
