Bartholomew takes the hits hard stumbling back, his rage burning even deeper because of them. Again he swings with a flurry of blows at Haris.

And thus ends the Tale of Bartholomew.
Bartholomew gives one great heaving gasp, but cannot lift his sword. Feeling the thrum of its power coursing through his veins where little to no blood remains, he struggles to lift the blackness descending before his eyes. Alas, Haris' hits are strong and true: Bartholomew falls. In the last moments, when sight has faded and sound is the only barrier between life and the void of death, he can hear Ina calling for him and hands lifting him. For a moment it is as though he is a great hero on the shoulders of admirers. Still, his world falls dark and dim and silence engulfs his mind. The sword is silent beside him. He wanders for a time, lost in the blackness but soon feels a tug in his chest and a voice begins to call out for him once more. He can hear Ina, begging him to hear her, to return. Eventually he awakens in a room: Latya is on a bed beside his. She is pale and worn, but seems to be sleeping soundly. Ina is at his side, pressing at his shoulders to keep him still. "W-why would you d-do that?" Her voice is shaky and her hair loose.

"Y-y-you w-went into a r-r-rage! I-I was s-s-so scared!"
It's becoming readily apparent, even to Bartholomew, that Ina's stutter isn't completely because of the crying and there's also now a small note of a lisp to her voice. She continues to yell at him for a moment before breaking down crying. "Y-Y-you c-c-c-can't c-c-carry the s-sword!"

Ina chases after him, shouting that he's going to reopen his wounds and begging him to just wait a moment. She just needs a single moment to explain to him, to tell him the truth of the sword.
