So, I was looking at more of a reclusive scholar type. He'll get out and do, because it's necessary and there's nobody else to (except the other PCs, of course). Maybe with a little damnation anxiety thrown in.

Would you like to use the Gurps magic system?

Can you create a basic character concept, like: name, background, personality, how do you know each other, etc? I already have some ideas for a campaign, but I'd need some extra details to solidify it.

I believe we planned on using the Gurps... save I am new but a very very quick learner and been promised that I can harass Athena as much as needed heh. The other gals know it well and love it, so I am figuring I am going to love the system too

Working on the basic character stuff now and for my part, should have something completed by end of the weekend, as I will be away part of the weekend, so I don't want to promise I will be done sooner than I know I can be.

Shock of shocks, I actually found an image I liked in a short time too heh, so I am on a roll.

Larger-than-Life (200-300 points): Leading roles in kung fu movies, fantasy novels, etc. Typical of the professional adventurer who has already made a name for himself.

Gavril Dulmaric
From somewhere Eastern Europe-y
Has a strong sense of noblesse oblige, very protective/possessive of 'his people'. Tries to take a practical approach to his condition.

 

Gavril was his father's only son and heir, but despite growing up with a regimen of strict lessons, he never quite managed to pull off the guise of a dashing, respectable aristocrat. He was something of a joke among others of his social circle. Rather than carousing with fellow nobles, he preferred reading by the fire or poking around some mechanism with moving parts. There were times when the young man did get lonely- but his solution was to dress himself in the clothes of commoners and visit the local town that way. He wasn't entirely certain if his disguise fooled anyone, but certainly nobody called him out on it.

As he came to know the common people, he he came to care about them, and would do little things to make their lives easier. A bit of money appearing 'from nowhere' for a family in special need. An extra hand during harvest or construction. As it turned out, there was one girl he cared about more than the rest, and though he could not officially court her, he spent a great deal of time in her company. Unfortunately, his new infatuation did not go unnoticed, and before long a young noblewoman whom he had known since youth, announced that she had always had feelings for him and he was breaking her heart. This left him rather confused, as while she was something of a flirt, she had never given any indication that she saw him as anything more than a brother figure. Still, it left him in quite a quandary. Additionally, the second woman was the daughter of one of his father's friends, and so while he was technically free to choose, his father left strong hints for his preference on the matter.

The young man decided to spend some time abroad, to clear his mind and find some perspective. Instead, death found him and he returned home a shell of his former self. One of the first things he did was send a letter to each woman, coldly cutting them out of his life forever. He shut himself up in his rooms, avoiding the town except when hunger drove him out. A few months after his return, his father had had enough, and an argument broke out. As tempers and frustrations flared, there was a lethal accident. The rumors thus aroused were certainly not quelled any when the young man didn't show up for his own father's funeral. Yet rumors they stayed.

And time churned on.

Hi, folks. Thanks, Schwarz. I'm the third "girl". Sorry, my sister is visiting us this weekend unexpectedly, so I am currently semi-away from my computer on my only day off this weekend. However, she should be gone tomorrow night, so I could try and get my stuff together on my next day off on Tues if I do not roam the downtown area in costume on errands.

Okay here is the start basics... of course to be tweaked a bit

Neves:

 

An orphan, she was bought by an eclectic and secretive group when she was a mere toddler. Raised within the confines of what might be best called a 'monastery', Neves was raised and trained to be both a guard and protector of her one day liege as well as a formal lady, to better allow her to fit within the world she would one day be placed. While some might say that her life had been hard and unkind, it was the only life she knew, and was one where she had a bed, shelter and food, even if the three were not of the best, it was still better than a life spent on the streets of the Spanish empire.

At the age of sixteen she had graduated from her training and was placed within a home of an aristocrat to act as the body guard, friend and virgin 'keeper' of the eldest daughter. Her ward was soon to be wed, and along with ensuring her physical safety on any travels out into the city market, Neves' job was to keep the young woman away from any temptations or risks which might otherwise prevent the arranged marriage with a wealthy merchant of another city.

Neves served within the woman's household and then her husband's household for seven years, after which a disaster upended her life and sent her out into the streets, fleeing from the husband's wrath and potential imprisonment or worse. Her lady had managed to sneak off with a young stable boy, more a young man, and her husband was well able to do the math from the time of their third child's birth and his travels elsewhere within the kingdom.

A failure at her position, she should have submitted to the punishment, whatever it may have been, however she instead fled, taking odd jobs of near anything until she felt she had put enough distance between she and her old life. Adept at sewing and other 'womanly' skills, she has managed to blend into society as a simple young woman serving in the homes of the rich, while she keeps her best trained skills at an edge by spending her nights roaming the more dangerous streets and 'interacting' with the scum of the cities she settles within.
