Anything, I like to play support roles as mush a front line one, SO it is more than I like but to sum to the team in my case too!:P

I like to play mixed classes that have support or skill monkey features so other can do what they enjoy the most. I like too the spellcaster classes but leaned to support or scout abilities!;O

Maybe I can Play that HUman Variant Bard(lore) with magic initiate that I want. I think It will fit in this adventure quite well!:P

Mostly yes and a bit of no . I would prefer to own the books myself so shoot me a PM if you go for the newer books features/races and stuff. I am kinda flexible but not accepting homebrew, playtest or DnD-wiki material

I decided to play an artificer, but I want to play a character that lost his right arm in his childhood and how he struggle to become a former adventurer as his predecessor. I was reading about how at level 2 they can choose infusions and that there is one of magic item that can be a common magic item, in this case, I am interested in the prosthetic limb. So was wondering If he can choose that as an infusion magic item instead?

I have a couple of question too about the difficulty of casting magic with only one hand thought I read that artificer does not cast magic in a normal way. Does he can use his tools and cast for example fire bolt?, what about if I choose the spell from magic initiate feat (I choose the human variant) can he cast it like a artificer? I want to get in what kind Of limitation a spellcaster would have if he only have one hand

Intriguing questions and I have to confess I am not having my artificer knowledge updated right now. At this point, without doing any research I do not see a problem with a prosthetic arm being infused with magic, nor with casting without the use of (both) arms. If I remember correctly the Infusion comes at 2nd level?

- going to allow a firebolt to be cast because it also has a somatic element of casting
- Magic initiate spell cast as a artificer feature, may I boomerang this question to you? Who would/could this be a problem?

My knowledge is a bit on this level (three years ago)

Well, speaking about how artificer cast magic, they don't do like a normal spellcaster does. They found a scientific way to do magic, so they might not need that kind of extreme somatic movement, because they use artifact to emulate the intricate part of the spells. For example, An artificer might use a thief tools that transform in some kind of a device like a futuristic gun to thrown a fire bolt, or the spare dying cantrip can be a device you attach in the body of the incapacitated person and it does all kind the first aid like a electroshock, and so on. That is why I think that getting magic initiate force you learn spells and use it on the same way the class you learned. But I would like my character to adapt it himself using his class skills. Like I was thinking a technology way to summon a familiar and I was getting fun!XDD

I want to take find familiar to help in scout abilities, maybe firebolt and another utility spell. and from Artificer cantrip I would like to get maybe another useful cantrips like guidance, spare the dying or mending.

P.D. I think I got it, maybe my character designed a device to summon other world being and the device like a pokeball or a neckless to getting out and in of the real world!XDDD

Maybe the pokeball stuff sound so awesome. LIke my charaacter says, go Ferilus nd throw the device!!!!XDDD

P.D. 2: About the infusions, yes! Artificers got it at lvl 2 so that give me a good chance to develop my character, playing with one limb and putting his great effort to overcome that disability, struggling until it will become in a magic tool called prosthetic limb!:P

I am new to this site and RPG in general but I have always wanted to try it out and this PbP format seems ideal for me. I have read the Starter Set Rules and Basic Rules 5e and would like to start a character at level 1 and watch them grow. Because of my lack of experience I would probably create a standard fighter character. Is this too mundane for your setting or is my inexperience not suitable?

Varis Woodsinger Wood Elf Archer

I am male 5ft 10in tall, weigh 130 lbs have dark brown hair tanned skin and hazel eyes.

I was born 300 years ago in the northern forests where I spent my early years exploring the land about and training as an archer. Then the northern borders were threatened by an orc invasion so I I joined the army as a regular fighter but later specialising as a scout. After this threat was over I travelled further afield enjoying seeing new lands and I often joined groups of adventures if I thought their cause was just. Now it seems we have a new threat which threatens the lives of ordinary folk. I cannot sit back and do nothing!

Hektor had always looked up to his grandfather, Dardanus the Dragon Slayer. He was an exemplary warrior, and had spent years fighting the Cult of the Dragon and their wretched master's designs. Sadly, time took its toll on Dardanus, as it does on all men. There was some talk in the village that the hero's time was coming, but not as much as Hektor would've expected. Not that he wanted to hear people talking about his dying grandfather, but... he was a hero! Shouldn't his fate garner more than idle gossip?! Even if he wasn't as great as the stories he'd grown up with said, his grandfather was all he had left. A week or so after Dardanus passed from nature's whim, when Hektor finally felt up to leaving home after eating the remainder of the food in the house, he was caught in an alley as the sun set on his way home from the market. Half a dozen robed, hooded men confronted him and demanded to be taken to Dardanus. He told them, "I could take you to his grave, but I don't feel ready for the company." The men didn't like this answer. They scattered his food across the cobblestones, held him down, and beat him until they believed that their quarry was truly dead. They gave him another kick in the ribs before leaving with a threat, "the Cult of the Dragon never forgets and always avenges." Once he could manage, Hektor collected whatever supplies weren't ruined and made ready to flee. His home was no longer safe.

Hauling his pack on his pack, dragging his grandfather's axe, Hektor wandered. He was too weak, unworthy of his grandfather's shadow. He had to get stronger. A rumor reached him of a man called "the Alterist," a disgraced wizard who blended transmutation and necromancy in unnatural ways. Months of searching finally brought him to Greenest, to the Alterist's doorstep. Hektor volunteered for an experiment if it would make him strong enough to continue his grandfather's fight. He asked no questions, though he probably should have. When he woke up, the house was abandoned; the Alterist had packed his things and left. The young man struggled to sit up, and promptly punched himself in the head trying to scratch his nose. After the initial shock wore off, he wondered if this would be enough. He decided to lay low in the Alterist's house, who knew if it was even his, until he acclimated to using four hands effectively. As weeks passed, his body grew in fits and spurts. He outgrew his shirts, fat melting away into hard muscle even as he grew taller.

Hektor stood before a mirror, hefting his grandfather's axe as easily as he would a walking stick. Perhaps this would be enough.

* What kind of a player are you? Do you think you can commit to posting twice a week for about a year? Or even more if we continue this AP into 'the Rise of Tiamat'? With my night shift job, I have a lot of free time, so posting twice a week would be easy.
* Who can you recommend to me to learn DM skills from? Who do you admire, respect and are you secretly hoping I will be just like him/her? And 'what' is it you like about that DM? I hate to say it, but Brendan Lee Mulligan is my favorite DM; his show has a lot of production value, but I feel like he's a genuinely knowledgeable and adept storyteller, and is quick on his feet in terms of adaptability.

@FatherDondo First time I heard of the Simic Hybrid and at this point I am not sure if I feel very confident to guide it within a setting beyond the Ravnica setting after reading this. I think Tasha did not add or change anything except the CON stat modifier. It's definitely not a 'no' against the Simic Hybrid but needs more getting into the material before saying yes :-) (if that makes sense ;-)
