To reactive Artemix's candidacy, a few things. - Let's start at level 8. I'm finding some characters that use Spheres can seriously over-power some characters built straight with core pathfinder. - Keep in mind a couple of characters are anti-magical in nature. They will refuse buffs they offer you. This is a matter of their religious faith & philosophy -- not personal animosity, so don't take offense. - You'd probably be written in to the current primary encounter (a large / complicated battle), arriving at a time and place where you'd be welcome. A couple scenarios that we might work with are: 1) Natives (of a generally hostile tribe) wanted to understand an augury that posed a threat to their tribe. You found reason (perhaps a desire to research something of their totemic magic?) to help them out, under flag of truce. OR 2) You were captured by hostile natives: when they came under attack by apocalypse zombies, one of them showed a noble gesture-- rather than risk you being killed while bound by hateful undead, they set you free even though you were an enemy. There is not any particular critical gap in this team in terms of skills and abilities. In terms of storytelling, the party could benefit from a local guide to Nesterak. Current situation: after a difficult journey, a group of companions from the town of Sweetwater has arrived at Nesterak, the city-state of the invincible overlord. Sweetwater is a frontier town, strategically located along a pass through a mountain range, and the northern most outpost of the steam-tech nation of Azerka. Azerka is a human and dwarf dominated democratic republic, with power divided between an elected representative senate, a militarized arcane society called the MageCorp, and the Church (a pro-technology, magic-is-sin institution). Sweetwater and the northern frontier is menaced by zombie apocalypse, infectious and malevolent, rampaging the countryside. The adventurers have tracked down the source, the mystic theurge Idious, presently hold up in the temple of Tho-Tarr. Idious is undead, a spectre to be precise; in life he was an Apekin, a race who once dominated the south and held humans as slaves until a revolutionary war a century ago. So Idious is bent on destructive vengeance, and must be stopped. Nesterak Citadel is an orc city-state, barbaric, but held together by a powerful warlord. A colony of gelatinous fiends lives here, as do some Apekin. It is cold-war hostile to Azerka. As a lawful-evil city that holds slaves and traffics with fiendish creatures, it is politically, culturally and religiously at odds with the Azerkan nation.
