This thread will contain everything from backstory and discussion about motivations to EXP rewards. When and if it gets cluttered, I'll split it into multiple threads.
Rather than dick around in the overworld for an extended period, I'd like to cut as much as possible to the chase. Please post backstories (the 1-3 paragraph ones you already have are fine) and edit/extend them to include some plausible reason for being exiled. If you can't think of anything, post what you have; maybe someone else can.
If everyone agrees to do so, we can play through solo sessions related to the crime or "crime" in question; the alternative is to jump, as it were, straight into Oubliette.
If you haven't started already, fill out that character sheet and link it here. Don't buy equipment, because you don't get any (I suppose you could potentially Sleight of Hand something) but roll for money and mention it in the post.
