Unfortunately, I will remain firm on no playtest / Unearthed Arcana (UA) Mystic. I’ve played and DMed for them and the class has a lot of issues.

Cool, I made some changes to Effemie's character sheet and ported it over from dndbeyond to the Crossing sheets. Think my application is complete.

It's nice to see you outside of the West Marches Trapper, I'm really liking the flavor of this homebrew.

Yes, though it would be extremely uncommon. Not something a 1st level magic user would know and would generally be considered an evil act.
Curiousity: Do Cleric spells also age people? If so, what about Divine Smite or other spell like Class abilities? Wild Shaping?

How I envision it is that if it's a racial ability, it would already be factored into that race's lifespan. For the rest, if it's something a human could conceivably do IRL or is derived from a patron/divine source then no.

Background: Folk Hero

Description: Kirt maybe on the far side of his better years, but he remains a burly man. His muscles bulge from working the land. His long grey beard is tied to keep it out of the way as he works the plow through frozen dirt. Liverspots stand out on his head from years of pounding summer suns. He moves with a plodding grace, every step deliberate, none rushed, and always exactly where he wants to be. There are the faint remnants of scars on his arms and his scalp, maybe signs of a youth spent in more adventuresome pursuits, but Kirt is an old man now.

Backstory:
Kirt is a simple man. He plows the land, he sows the seed, he reaps the grain.

He tends the flocks, he shoes the horses, he milks the cows.

He's held back forces that would take what's his. He's stood before swinging blades, his scythe turned to deadly purpose.

He's watched sons and daughters grow and marry and move on with their lives. He's seen a beloved wife fall ill and pass quietly into the next world. He longs to see her.

Kirt is a simple man. But even simple men know when the time has come to fight.

Description: He is rather tall, with deeply tanned skin and dark red hair, including a short beard and mustache. His eyes are a sort of grey color which is hard to describe. He wears simple, faded clothing. His face and arms have small scars on them, a testimony to a rugged life and various minor mishaps. Around his neck is a wooden holy symbol. His hair is kept short, but somewhat dirty. He walks slowly, but with a long stride, and seems to lean slightly to the left when standing or sitting. There is usually a calm look in his eyes and face, even when things are going wrong or others are in a state of panic.
Backstory: He was born in one of the many port cities, the bastard son of one of the many sailors who make use of these ports and the women who work in them. He was raised in the home the church of the seas runs for such children, and taught the ways of healing and peace. Several events marked his childhood. When he was seven years old, he recieved a letter from his mother (the only real contact he ever had with her,) apologizing that she could not be there for his life, but was forced to watch from a distance in the shadows. At thirteen, he won a race around the gardens, and was given a ribbon, which a bird stole. The elders managed to persuade him not to harm the bird, and this helped him learn to keep his temper in check. At seventeen, he was sent out to work on a ship, helping it get ready to sail (but was not permitted to go sailing with it.) At twenty-one, he went on a voyage of several days to a nearby port and back, simply to exchange a load of local wine for one of dyed cloth. The voyage had minimal profit-it was mainly being done to keep the sailors and the ship from beeing idle for too long, while everyone waited for better weather and omens for longer voyages. At thirty, he has left the high seas behind after a voyage which went very wrong-one of the sailors was killed, and the captain crippled, when they tried to sail through a storm. They turned back after this, leaving the sailors with no pay and the ship impounded by creditors.

I'm into this! Trapper, you know from recent games my ability to post is hit or miss. I can do 2 posts a week, 3 may be pushing it, but i'll do 1- liners from my phone just to keep a presence if need be. If you are good with that, consider this a place holder for a warforged envoy of 'alchemist ilk'.

  • Name: 5 3 3-D (SEED)
  • Race: Warforged
  • Class: Cleric 1 (going wizard at level 2)
  • Description: Like most Warforged, Seed's head is unadorned, the gleaming metal marking his construct nature for the world to see. A green insignia engraved on his forehead resembles an acorn within a golden circle. His eyes shine green as well. When he pulls the deep hood of his brown cloak up, the eyes are two points of green light shrouded in darkness. Seed is slim and shorter than the average warforged, clearly not designed to be a warrior. His armor plating is of the heaviest protection however, which seems to strain the capabilities of his spindly legs. His back is hunched somewhat under a large back pack, giving him the appearance of an upright turtle, further reinforced by his baggy, plain green buttoned shirt over rough spun wool britches. He walks with the aid of a stout, wooden cane, engraved with nature symbols and topped with a balled fist of brass. A simple leather belt with many small pouches encircles his pot- belly waist.
  • Background:Seed was created in a warforged foundry as a special order for a high-ranking wizard. He was an experimental prototype designed as an alchemical assistant with the propensity to learn low-level magic. Four such models were ordered by the wizard, who believed that warforged might hold the key to the long-term casting of minor spells without the pesky aging problem. After all, nobody knew how long the constructs actually lived. Unfortunately for all involved, the delivery of the constructs was intercepted by a band of rampaging orcs who murdered the caravan and looted the valuables. The value of Seed and his kin to the arcane elite was lost on the orcs however, and they laughed as they tore the constructs to pieces and littered the forest floor with their metal remains.

    Seed was hurled into a thick patch of pricker bushes after his arms and legs were removed. Immobile but alive, he had no choice but to wait in the patch until help arrived. Seasons passed. The newly 'born' warforged needed neither food nor drink to survive. With nothing but his integrated arcane knowledge to keep him company, Seed watched the world change from green to brown to white and back again. He noted the ingenuity of plants and animals thriving in their environments and a deep appreciation for the natural order of things began to awaken within him. His 'imprisonment' began to take on a new light of discovery and understanding and in time Seed was at peace with his lot.

    There is no telling how long Seed's interment lasted, but eventually the spirits of the forest began to take notice. Seed's story passed from the lips of fairies and dryads until one day a shadow fell over the warforged's face. Seed looked up to see a radiant Elf, more beautiful and timeless than any Elf of this world. The stranger radiated a golden light and reached down to touch Seed's forehead before disappearing into the golden radiance that surrounded him. The maker's mark on his forehead warped and changed into the outline of an acorn encircled by a golden halo.

    Days later, a second Elf appeared, this one more mundane. He explained that Silvanus, God of forests and wild places, had sent him to see to Seed's restoration. The Elf took the pieces of Seed's body back to his workshop and used Elven magic to reconnect the limbs, though unfortunately time had taken its toll on the joints and they would never be as functional as they once were. The Elf taught Seed much of Silvanus's doctrine and how to pray to the Great One and receive blessings and abilities. Seed assimilated the knowledge with his alchemical protocol. Eventually, Elf and student parted ways so that Seed could pursue his own destiny. Though he took Silvanus's teachings with him, Seed could not resist his programming. He began his quest to rediscover the arcane arts, a pursuit which eventually led him to delving into the underworld after lost artifacts.

Description: Sariel stands a little over five feet tall. Her chestnut hair is kept shoulder length and does little to hide the pointed ears of her race. She learned quickly of the prejudice to be found in the human lands south of her homeland and has taken to wearing her hood drawn for fear of attracting unnecessary conflict.

She wears simple blue robes that do much in the way of hiding a body underneath that is comprised entirely of lean muscle. Uncharacteristic for her race, she has tattooed large portions of her body, each having a different significance and meaning to her.

Background: Sariel was born nearly a hundred years ago deep within the northern forests that the elves called their home. Born to a line of elves that tended to be more in tune with the natural order of things than their more intellectual cousins, Sariel embodied these traits. Her passion for understanding of not just the world, but of herself as well, eventually led her to Master Himo Holimion, an incredibly old hermit even by elven standards. Through him, Sariel set down the path of self awareness and perfection.

It was on a day like any other that Sariel was meditating with Master Holimion, attempting to connect with her Ki, the magical force that permeates all life, that she found herself floating away from her body. Her surroundings became nothing but a grey abyss, with no concept of direction. Without warning a massive beast appeared before her, giant maw and crab-like claws reaching out to strike her. She raised her arms over her head to block a blow that should have crushed her easily, but she somehow deftly deflected the blow. She saw herself then, her true self, opaque and shimmering and powerful.

She was suddenly back inside her body, gasping for breath, her master demanding to know what she had done. When she told him what she had seen, he was speechless. He had not heard of anyone glimpsing their astral self in nearly a thousand years. After that day, he refused to train her, insisting that her Ki would be forever disjointed unless she learned to manifest her astral self in the material plane. He told her that was something that she must discover how to do herself, and she learned long ago that combat was the best way to learn about oneself.

Word had spread even to the northern forest of the hole that had opened in the desert near a human town called Jassi and of the strange sights and creatures seen by those brave enough to venture into its depths. She set out immediately.

Backstory born in the elven capital of Ilaldorei rava grew up in a harshly controlled land as viewed from outsiders but with longevity and peace it kept allowed for creativity within the system until there wasn't. Rava was one of the pushers a group of thugs pushing the boundaries of laws through loop holes but when he was finally caught he let his friend flandryn take the fall. He fled hoping to escape the tyranny finding jassi a town on the uprise and potential point of rebirth. He endured hate fueled eyes and whispering words but he did what he could to heal the sick and wounded with the little magic he knew. The pit held possible lore into the elven cities that once lived here.
