As a character arc, he's either gonna become a hero to his people, or he might succumb to Lolth and become the horrible person his younger sister thinks he is, as a perfectionist, it's gonna become one of those two things. Character History: Most people would assume that being born rich is a pretty sweet life and they would be mostly right. But in a world with magical wonders things are more complex than that. The Den family Icozrin has dealt in Metallurgy since before the the reconstruction of Rosohna, after that it became the spine of the Kryn dynasty, for both the infrastructure and the military, the empire needed metal, and the Icozrin have the largest supply and the highest quality. As of Den family, but not the firstborn, Zynvil expected a peaceful life overseeing smelting facilities or the family mines, but he no idea of what his future held for him.   The youngest Icozrin didn't believe the story regarding her favourite brother dying, and that for some weird unnatural reason couldn't be brought back with the drow magic. For this reason Baliira decided to dedicate her life to ruin Zynvil's, and already tried twice to kill him (that he knows). In the meantime, to cover for his real reason to travel in the human realms, Zynvil went under the tutelage of the drawen blacksmith Vongreal Greybane, to learn different metalworking styles to widen the family's portfolio. After two years of this humble life, he received instructions directly from his eldest sister that he was to travel urgently to Nicodranas to assist some shipwreck investigation.

An old fence, friends of my handler, came through a couple of weeks ago, and needed some old maps translated to Zemnian. This parchment was stuck in between two sheets, imagine that! I'm surprised ol' Ketus didn't notice when he handed me the paperwork. - Have you figured out what it does? I get that you need a bodyguard but I'm due to making the rounds in The Scatters later tonight. - Don't worry, you assassins put too much stock on your worth. With such a big garrison in Nogvurot, I'm surprised you maintain a chapter here, haha! Now hush, we're here. Took me 2 weeks to find this cave. 'Ere, light a fire, and be quiet. Ten minutes later, the somewhat clumsy arcane circle in place, Marcus proceeded to read the incantation. His friend stood back, keeping an eye out for intruders, weary of whatever Marcus was trying to accomplish. But 10 gold was 10 gold, and he'll breathe easier when that scoundrel will be out of town for good. Right when Arhus thought the 'incantation' might just be grandma's kompot recipe and they're wasting their time, a bright blue flash erupted from the center of the arcane circle, with such force that he was thrown back against the cave wall, blinded. Miraculously unscathed, Marcus stood in awe before the ephemeral apparition occupying the arcane circle he crudely drew on the floor - this was definitely not supposed to happen! The being before him looked Genie kind: Djinni, female named Phadiafemale, towering at over 8 feet, blue skin almost translucent, with fiery red eyes and jet black hair. The apparition studied Marcus, and he felt like like an open book before the penetrating gaze. All his dreams, fears, hopes and temptations laid bare. No secrets were safe before this creature. Marcus felt desperation, fear and panic. But slowly, as seconds ticked by, they turned into an unexpected calmness. This was no accident, he realized. This was fate. He wanted an easy way out - but fate offered something more - so much more! Unsure whether moving by his own will or at the whims of an unseen puppeteer, he approached the blue demon, kneeled and offered his most precious possession, a family signet ring heirloom he only recently came in possession of. Why? He didn't know. He just knew he had to. The genie grinned, and with a swift swirl, jumped from the arcane circle into his ring, and it was gone. Gone? Not quite. Marcus could still feel it's presence, somehow. Deafening silence followed, broken only by the raspy, labored breathing of a badly wounded Arthus. Shaking, Marcus went to check on his friend. Arthus' face was severely lacerated, probably due to the violent impact with the rugged cave walls. - Don't... leave.. me... - I... the noise... guards will be here... I... I can't be caught... - Marcus... I beg you... don't leave me... not like this... take me to our safe house... Marcus could already hear shouts and orders coming from somewhere close to the cave. Guards were coming. Fast. - I'm sorry Arthus. Marcus made to leave, but Arthus grabbed him with a bloody hand. - You weasel. You leave me for dead. I will find you. And when I do, I will make sure I do leave you dead. Shocked by his friend's outburst, Marcus shook free and fled the cave and eventually managed to sneak out of the city. For the next couple of weeks, he Disguise kit + Forgery Kitchanged several identities and traveled more miles that he could care to count, in an effort to ditch the starosta's reach. He found that the easiest way to blend in and not attract attention was to enlist in various groups of adventurers who needed his particular set of newfound skills. Oh, the skills! He was good at forging before, but now? Somehow he could Feat - Eldritch Adept - Eyes of the Runekeeperread anything he laid his eyes on, and with a bit of effort he could even Comprehend Languagesunderstand any foreign language! He wouldn't win any battle distinctions but he was making a name for himself as an expert interpreter. Who would have thought... Marcus eventually ended up in Nicodranas, where he hoped he would buy some more time from his pursuers by taking odd adventuring opportunities - oh? Such as this, maybe? A flier caught his eye - volunteers needed to explore a crash-landed ship? Oh, what a great opportunity to lose his pursuers at sea! Yes! This was it - perhaps his best chance at a clean and permanent get-away!

- I really like how the rolls makes the player think outside the box when creating a character concept!

- Despite rogue being an obvious choice given the Criminal / Charlatan combo, I will most likely roll a Warlock (Genie, then later on either Familiar or Tome, depending on what the party needs most - should be evident by level 3).

Application Name: Tebaun Kenduis Race: Drow Class: Fighter Background: Folk Hero Appearance: Tebaun stands at 5' 7" with a lean build. He has the classic dark skin and white hair of his people. His hair is long, loose, and only mildly attempted to be kept out of his face. He's the least intimidating figure with his giant blue eyes and pudgy baby face. Yet somehow manages to cut an imposing figure when he wants to be. He carries himself with poise and grace, moving like a dancer almost effortlessly. He dresses in simple dark clothing, pants, top, boots, gloves, over which is a light colored coat with a hood that helps protect him from sunlight.   Tebaun was born to the Kenduis family of Rosohna, the middle child of six. Technically he was number 4 but he was born only an hour after his twin sister so he's basically the middle. One of only two boys, with the other being the oldest child Chashin. The Kenduis family is a well known family of Alchemists. With two working parents it did fall onto the older siblings to take care of the younger ones. But the responsibility was spread around as much as possible to avoid one child getting all the pressure. Tebaun was barely double digits when he took over most of the cooking. It was something he really liked to do and if things had turned out differently, he likely would have made a career out of it. But the world had different plans. It was around this time that Chasin started disappearing more. He would be away for hours and not tell anyone what he had been doing. At first nobody thought much of it. He probably had a secret girlfriend. Tebaun got his first job at a tavern around sixteen. Not glamorous, but people liked the food he made. Every day walking to work he noticed that there was a scruffy, very fuzzy, looking man who was sitting on the corner, begging people for work. But nobody paid him much mind. After the first few days, Tebaun started making lunch for him. After all, everybody deserved a good meal. The man's name was Alden, the company he had been working for shut down and nobody would hire him looking as he did. Tebaun decided to help him. That night he took half his earnings and put it in a pouch. The next day he gave it to Alden with his lunch. He got a big hug from the man. He didn't see Alden for a while after that. He assumed the man was getting his life back together. By now, he had other things to worry about. His brother had been gone for several days. Then a week. His parents were worried, they got the guard involved but there was little that could be done. Chashin was an adult, he was allowed to do what he wanted. But he had never taken off this long before without saying anything first. Six months later, Tebaun was woken up in the middle of the night by a thump. He went to investigate. It was his brother, stuffing handfuls of coin into his pocket. Tebaun confronted him and the two began to argue. Chashin didn't like being accused of theft, he claimed he had a right to the money since this was his house too. Tebaun disagreed, that was the emergency fund, it was for when somebody got sick or something broke. Not for them to take whenever they thought they needed a little extra money. Their arguing drew the attention of the rest of the family, Chashin bolted. His parents refused to report the theft. They thought that if Chashin was doing this, something must of have been wrong and he shouldn't be punished because of that. Nearly a year and a half go by. Tebaun is now working at a pretty high end establishment, training under a professional chef. His brother has not been seen. His oldest sister has gotten married and moved out. The house is less crowded, but the reduced noise is strange. Walking home from work one evening, Tebaun is surprised by a man. One that he doesn't recognize right away. He's far less scruffy, still fuzzy, and dressed well, but it's Alden. The coin he gave the man was enough for him to get his life back together. Alden invites Tebaun to dinner, as a thanks for all the lunches the Drow had given him. Tebaun accepts. He doesn't realize until afterwards that it was definitely a date and he definitely wants to do it again. Alden travels a lot for work, but when he's in Rosohna the two spend a lot of time together. Neither one of them saying the word dating, or boyfriend, or courting, but they both know exactly what's going on. So does Tebaun's family. They like having Alden over for dinner, Alden likes being over for dinner. Tebaun is happy, he's working in a field that he loves, he has a wonderful relationship, everything is good. Tebaun is twenty-two, he's still working at that same high end establishment, but not as an apprentice. He's now an official member of the kitchen crew as a line-cook. He has several offers from other places in higher positions, but he likes where he is for now. Though maybe that will change. There's an official dinner for high ranking members of Rosohna nobility tonight and the restaurant staff has gotten word of some possibly unsavory acts that may occur. Several of the nobles have gotten death threats. All members of the staff are armed and the nobility's personal guard is crawling all over the place. Halfway through dinner, the cloaked figures appear out of nowhere. Tebaun was on break, sitting outside the kitchen in the main area when they did. He jumped up and grabbed hold of the sword he had little idea how to use. He put his back to the wall and hoped he didn't have to use it. The actual guard seemed to be doing quite well, until one of the cloaked figures popped up behind one of the nobles. Tebaun was closest, he charged. He managed to knock the dagger out of the cloaked figure's hand. A fight happened, to this day Tebaun has no idea how he won, but he managed to knock out the cloaked figure. The pain doesn't hit him until after. He drops his sword and presses his hands to his side, when he pulls them away they're covered in blood. His blood. Oh dear. The next day, Tebaun is taken to the prison to see the man he had defeated. The man was claiming to know him. He did, it was his brother. His own brother had tried to kill him. Tebaun wasn't sure what to think about that, or the fact that Chashin was going to be executed for his crimes. Several days later, Chashin is broken out of the prison by whatever shady group he's now part of, unknown to Tebaun. Alden returns a week later. He hates the fact that Tebaun had to go through all that, but he likes the new scar. They're walking home one night, taking a short cut through an alleyway when they're jumped. Tebaun recognizes the figure this time. His brother, again. Tebaun has never heard the snarl that comes from his usually mild mannered boyfriend before, or since for that matter. Clearly Chashin has second thoughts, because all he says is that he won't stop until Tebaun is dead, and that anybody who gets in his way will die too. Tebaun makes the decision that night. He has to leave. He can't let anybody else get involved in this. He tries to resign himself to the fact that next time they fight, he may have to kill his brother, but he can't. Alden promises his family to keep him safe and that they'll come home as soon as they can. They set out a few days later after gathering supplies. The journey is long, but Alden stays with him the entire time. Tebaun likes traveling with him, though he already misses his family and his job. He had always been happy with his simple life, but adventuring was necessary at the moment. Alden taught him to fight as much as he could so at least Tebaun could defend himself. They make it all the way to Nicodranas. Originally Alden signed them both up for the investigation at Brokenbank, but then what they had both been dreading happens. He's called into work. That strange stone he talks through sometimes sends him a message. Whatever it is, he can't say no, and he can't bring Tebaun along. Already feeling homesick, Tebaun is crushed by the news, but assured Alden that he'll be fine. Alden promises that it won't be long. Tebaun is now alone, boarding a ship to somewhere he's never been before, always looking over his shoulder in fear that his brother will try and stab him in the back again.   Immediate: Survival is his immediate goal. Not get killed by anything, but especially his brother, before Alden comes back. Long Term: TBD Character Arc: As of now, it's to finish this business with his brother. Tebaun is in denial that he might have to kill his brother to make this stop. He just wants to go home and live a simple domestic life with Alden. But he'll do what he has to in order for his family to be safe.   I didn't outright say it, but Alden is a Firbolg. He's the evil werebeast ally. Not sure why he's evil or why he's dating Tebaun. I'll leave that up to you. Chashin is the assassin rival. The full Kenduis family. Mother: Mizlena, female, Alchemist. Father: Omarin, male, Alchemist. Child 1: Chashin, male, the wayward son. Child 2: Thirza, female, moved out of the family home several years ago after getting married. Child 3: Erellass, female, training as an Alchemist to take over the family business, Tebaun's twin. Child 4: Tebaun, male, twin to Erellass. Child 5: Baryna, female, a talented musician who's training to be a Bard. Child 6: Faerae, female, the baby of the family. Really enjoys boxing, wants to be a professional fighter.

He still feels incredible guilt, which he would do anything to assuage. -Xara's mother and sister have always loved her with all their heart, and would do anything for her. Rival: You broke a promise to this person, and it caused them to suffer greatly. Now they conspire to make someone else break a valuable promise to you. Rival Identity: Tribal warrior Reason for Travel: Xara is an existing member of the crew of The Voyage. They are mostly mercenary sailors from the Coast. Fateful Moments: None Prophecies: -Immediate: Prove herself as a valuable member of the crew of the Voyage and possibly find some treasure. -Long Term: Resolve her feud with Balkris. -Character Arc: Accrue enough wealth and fame to provide a comfortable life and home for her family. Character History: Xara Delmirev was born to a poor single mother in the newly formed dragonborn city of Xarzith Kitril. Xara was very young when her father was killed by a draconblood who resented their fall from power and had a chip on his shoulder against all ravenites. As Xara's father was a skilled miner and provided most of the income for the family, this left the family near destitute, and Xara's mother had to struggle to scrape by and provide for three children. As a result, Xara grew up quite streetwise, and she soon learned ways to manipulate people into getting what she wanted, running cons and picking out marks. This allowed her to help her mother in providing for the family. As a teenager, Xara ran the streets with her best friend, a male dragonborn named Balkris who came from a family of warriors. They were a tag team in swindling unsuspecting citizens, running scams and sometimes resorting to pickpocketing and burglary as well. Xara made a promise to Balkris that she would never leave, that it was them against the world, but as she grew older she grew tired of the petty tricks that she and Balkris performed, and she dreamed of ways to accrue even greater riches. She started to look down on Balkris for being too childish and lacking in ambition. By the time they were both adults, Xara had forgotten her promise, and she left the city, leaving her former best friend behind. Balkris hasn't forgotten though, and now, unknown to Xara, he plots his revenge against her. He wants her to know how it feels to be betrayed, to be let down by the one you cared about the most. So unbeknownst to her he has actually followed her, waiting for his moment. Now that she is an adult, Xara wants to do everything she can to give her family the lifestyle she believes they deserve. Knowing that she would not be able to accomplish that in the very rigid society of Xarzith Kitril, she ventured out into the wider world and her skills enabled her to snag a position on the crew of the Voyage. Now she seeks to prove her worth, earn a respectable living while also still seeking out opportunities for extra-legal financial gain, and eventually return home with enough wealth to set her family up for life.
