@Wyn thanks for making an action list, I totally missed Roe’s declaration.
@Roe I think Night is the most obvious, right? @Vislands We’re both Wild and our debts are about the Wild, so I think you should highlight the Wild. I will make a roll with Power and make up a rumor about Power at a later point in time.

@Wyn When making up a rumor, are we supposed to just keep it vague? Or do I need to have answers even if Cole doesn't?
I'm thinking something like Do I need to say what the package was? Or do I get to leave that up to you? Last edited by hafrogman; Jun 16th, 2023 at 05:28 PM. |

I read the move as asking literally for the rumor that Cole heard. So no, I don't think hafrogman needs to have any more information than Cole does. Keeping at least a few of the rumors "loose" like that will probably help to provide me some flexibility to more easily stitch them into a scene or two.

My unsolicited 2c: the really nice thing (from both MC and player standpoint) about the "beginning of session" move is that these are rumors... they can act exactly like everyday rumors in the game world: could be true, could be just gossip. I think the absolute primary goal is that it adds a little life to the city; every city has rumors ingrained in its existence that people hear every day, so this move injects that life of the city into the world. Most of the times the rumors are completely unfounded, but that one time one of them is legit ...

Roll Result: 7. Farhad is neck deep in it: He owes someone in that Faction a Debt, and someone in that Faction owes him a Debt.

@Roe and Frog: I'll "tell you who's coming at you", either directly or indirectly, once the action starts. Thank you for your contributions!
@wodine: OMG, I just noticed I've been spelling Fahrad wrong this whole time. My apologies. As far as your roll: since we're short on Power in our current NPC roster, I think we'll need to create a new NPC. If we're sticking to playbooks, the only option is Wizard, if you want "conjurers". But NPCs absolutely do not need to stick to playbooks. Witches, druids, necromancers, or whatever other kind of spell-slinger slash reality-bender can work. Is "gallu" just how Farhrad interprets the incursion, or is that how the rumor was presented to him? It would be interesting to give Fahrad some kind of connection to the Persian or middle-eastern community (am I remembering correctly that he is Persian? does he think of himself that way?). Placing a powerful member inside of that community could give him an interesting grounding since Fahrad seems kind of... aloof? above the day to day fray?... as I currently envision him

He is very aloof. I'll come up with an appropriate NPC.

Imma just provide all the rs necessary to spell Frarhrard’s name correctly from now on, and you can cross out whichever ones get you to the right end point.

Credit where credit is due, wodine, you have improved from the early phases where you were going about 50/50 for each version - which was about the time I had a realization that you couldn't be mad at me whichever way I spelled it . It certainly seems like you have settled into more of a 90/10 Fahrad/Farhad split. I have seen 0 percent Frarhrards, so Wyn is just way off base there ...

@Wynamoinen: Okay, I think I got this. What would interest Anne more than to find about her husband’s fate after killing her?
Thomas Beall left George Town after his acquittal at the trial and settled elsewhere, wanting nothing to remind him of his shared passed with that woman. Anne knows that he sired other children with another woman (or women?), for she can sense his blood in others like Cole, his mother and grandfather, but knows nothing about what actually happened to her husband and murderer. Since she cannot leave DC and remains fixated on her past this is a matter of great importance to her. Who better to find out more about Thomas Beall’s life after leaving DC than Mrs Hershfeld-Reyes?

If anyone is interested the Power NPC I made, Nazanin is here.
I didn't want to add another block to text to our already congested OOC.
