Name:ZenevievaNevi Sileny Race: Half-Elf Origin: Sudetenland Class: Pact Witch (6)/Feral Hunter (1) Intended role: Healer, Support Physical Description: At five-foot-ten-inches and one-hundred twenty-eight pounds, Nevi is roughly average in terms of height and weight for someone who is of both elven and human descent. If not for her feminine curves, she'd have a boyish build. The build is partially because she didn't need to develop her muscles nearly as much to be a Healer as she would have needed to if she'd wanted to be a warrior of some sort. She has large, purple eyes with vertically slitted pupils that are almost almond shaped that make a striking picture against her lightly tanned skin and deep auburn hair. Nevi tends to keep her long hair bound out of her way in some way, usually a loose braid. She has a longish straight nose and mouth with a full lower lip and a thinner upper one. Her ears, not surprisingly given her heritage, are slightly pointed.
Nevi likes clothing that offers a combination of decent movement, sturdy material that is easily cleaned, and the ability to withstand a trip to the forest to gather ingredients or a hectic infirmary. She prefers relatively simple lines and natural colors. It makes no difference if she's in a skirt or pants as long as her top isn't attached to her bottom. She's found it easier to simply change what's been stained until she, or her familiarTiana, can clean it later. Her other gear follows a similar path. Simple designs, sturdy materials and muted colors. Personality: Almost everyone who knows Nevi would describe her as 'a lover, not a fighter' or 'a kind soul doing her best to help any who need it'. Both describe her almost perfectly. Nevi would describe herself as a pacifistic healer.
She strongly dislikes violence and does what she can to avoid it. She always tries to defuse tense situations before they can devolve into a fight of one sort or another. When she's forced to fight, she does so reluctantly and only to defend herself and those in her care. Nevi willingly does what she can to heal any who come to her. She also tries to help people in other ways when she can. This has occasionally led to, often inadvertent, trouble with the local authorities. She rarely concerns herself with the ability of her patients to pay her. Most can only 'pay' her by offering a roof over her head for a few days, sharing a meal or two with them, mending her clothes or similar trades. The ones who can pay in coin are usually merchants or the occasional noble.
She sometimes comes off as cat-like due to a few of her quirks. She enjoys occasionally lazing someplace sunny and warm. Her head will tilt to one side if she's particularly interested in something or just trying to puzzle through something. The minor physical changes that occurred shortly after Tiana revealed her true form only add to her 'cat-ness'. Background:
Nevi leaned back against a tree and looked at the sky. She absentmindedly stroked Tiana as she spoke. ”My mother is a midwife. She was pretty enough to catch the eye of a merchant. An elven merchant, if it wasn't obvious. They were lovers for only a few nights but that was enough. I came along nine months later.”
She sighed and closed her eyes. ”My mother took me with her unless she was going to someone direly ill. Once I was old enough to start helping, she started teaching me. I'd fetch bandages, hold bowls of water or medicine and help her gather herbs once she'd shown me what to collect. As my knowledge grew, so did my skill in the basic healing arts.” A small smile touched her face. ”When I was about ten, my Gifts began showing themselves. We went to a farmer who'd accidentally given himself a nasty cut with a sickle. I set my kitten and our packs down and was taking a look at the wound. When I touched the flesh near it, something poured out of me and the gash healed to a relatively minor cut before my eyes. My mother, after getting a look at the wound, started to scold the man's girl for exaggerating the severity of his injury. When I corrected her and told her what had happened, she decided that I needed to meet with a friend of hers. Especially since I'd been showing signs of magic as well and that had felt differently from my magic. A hedge witch a couple villages over.”
Tiana, tired of getting petted, moved. Nevi opened her eyes to watch as the cat-like celestial settled on her bag. ”Mother's friend, Rose, spoke with me for a while before confirming what my mother had suspected. I was a witch. Rose wasn't sure whether I was a hedge witch like her or just a witch whose Patron focused on healing or, perhaps, something rarer. Regardless, she offered to take me in and teach me what she could. Mother accepted since she wasn't able to teach me what I needed to know as a witch.” She leaned her head against the tree's trunk once more. ”Rose began teaching me how to properly communicate with my familiar. It wasn't Tiana but another kitten. Once I had that down, she began teaching me to control my healing hex and to make some of the more basic alchemical concoctions that are useful as a healer. Eventually, I started making potions. I seemed to have a knack for potions and Rose thought that that might be another hex granted to me by my Patron. We kept working together until I turned twenty. At that point, I decided to start traveling between some of the smaller villages around us, including the one I had been born in.”
Nevi shifted so she could look at the unconscious man she'd been speaking to. As far as she'd been able to tell, he'd received a nasty knock to his head from a falling branch. If she hadn't found him, she guessed that he might have died. ”I've been traveling since. My nails grew and hardened a few months after I'd left. Tiana revealed her true form to me about four years back. Around that time, one of the local nobles wanted me to treat his child. He paid quite nicely. I've had several run-ins with the local authorities. Usually because they're chasing someone. Some of those times, I'd treated the person they were pursuing only days or hours before and that person has moved on.” She fingered the torc at her neck. ”A year or two ago, I met a nice couple. Another half-elf and a dryad. A few months back, I started taking partial animal forms. They've proved useful but I'm still getting used to them.” She reached up and touched the tiny antlers sprouting from near her forehead. ”Yes, I am most definitely still getting used to the partial forms...”

Days after she'd managed to rouse the man she'd found in the forest and was certain that he'd be fine, Nevi entered the little village of Hart's Ford. There was a small stream running through the middle of the village that gave it its name. She went to the headman's house, like she always did. Unlike normal, there was a letter waiting for her.
”The man who gave me this said he'd be dropping off one at each of the villages that you frequent,” the headman said, handing her the folded parchment.
”Did he give any idea as to what it's about?” When the headman shook his head, Nevi sighed and carefully pried up the somewhat familiar wax seal with a long, carefully trimmed nail. Things baring the royal seal were rarely good. She unfolded the parchment and began reading. Her expression got grimmer and grimmer the further she read.
”Something wrong?”
”Yes.” Nevi's one word answer came out as a growl. She glanced at her hands and realized that she'd taken a partial form without thinking. Given the striped pattern that now adorned her flesh, she was sure her eyes had gone golden. Her pupils had become vertically slitted years ago. Just like her canines elongating slightly. ”Apparently I've been conscripted into the Empire's military.”
She reread the last couple of paragraphs as she considered ignoring the missive. She'd only been conscripted for one mission. Unless the Emperor changed his mind, of course. That didn't sound too bad. Nor did the earlier bit about sailing to the New World. That would just be a new, and hopefully temporary, adventure. No, what worried her was the last bit. She didn't have land, holdings or titles. Her mother had a small bit of land that her cottage and tiny garden was on. And there was Rose. The woman was like a mother to her and there was no telling what the Empire might do to her if she failed to show up. That didn't even begin to account for all the people she'd gotten to know during the last decade.
Closing her eyes, Nevi sighed. She had no options. She'd have to go.
”Do you have any idea why you've been conscripted?”
Nevi looked up at the headman. Her golden eyes danced with determination as they locked on his hazel. ”I can only guess the exact reason. I know I've helped fugitives. Often unknowingly, but I still helped them because, as you know, I try to help every injured person who crosses my path. The Guard isn't overly happy with me because of that but they don't hate me because I heal their personnel as well. Perhaps that is why I've been summoned. Or maybe my help has inspired small bands to rebel against the Empire. Or perhaps it's because I have to reservations about confronting nobles about getting more healers in the remoter areas under their control.” She closed her eyes again and rubbed her temple. ”There are several possible reasons why I might have been conscripted but the Emperor only needed one. He's even put in enough of a threat that I don't dare risk angering him for fear of the consequences that might be forced upon those I care about since there isn't much that he could do to me personally.”

Cristal, my half-elf Hawke also from Sudetenland. We could have them cross paths or something.

Seekr, we could work something in. I'm planning on having her be a wandering healer among some of the smaller, and more remote, villages of Sudetenland, it would have to be in or near one of them. PM me and we can discuss ideas.

Everything is fine except you can't have a diplomat to one of your own fiefdoms. She would have been a Counselor of State.
I can go with that. Bottom line, I want my character's family to have an impressive lineage but to currently be limited to assistants to the Emperor with an impressive last name .
I think my app if complete. I did the 'other passenger' section using only the personality and physical descriptions of other apps so anyone i don't have on the list doesn't have one of those things...hope that's ok. Feedback from anyone would be great.
I put a chart together of all the apps in the second post in this thread. If the details are wrong or I missed your app please let me know so I can update it.
Thanks

@wodine : Not sure if - is the same as Done on that list. If it's not can you let me know what I'm missing? If it was the WiP tag on the class part that's more because, if selected, that could change a little based on what else the party has. I've got it mostly locked down but there are certain aspects that I had questions on that I didn't want to bother you about because you mentioned you don't need sheets beforehand, and I didn't want to be the one to open the floodgates on sheet questions.
