As soon as they are close enough the crowd of undead charges, or at least charges as best as zombies can. They mostly break harmlessly against the tower shields the dwarves are carrying, except for one. The undead that had been acting oddly had pulled out a longsword and large steel shield from it's back. You aren't entirely sure how you hadn't noticed those items hanging from its back, but that is where it drew them from. The shield is mostly black with a red border and the longsword looks to be silver with a red pommel-stone. Both look rather old and battered as is expected of most undead. The oddly acting undead practically ignores the readied strike from the dwarf it charged, the attack simply bouncing off what seems like some invisible armor. The oddly acting undead on the other hand manages to strike down the dwarf with a single blow sticking its sword through the poor dwarf's eye. Bolts from dwarven crossbows fire at the undead creature, who's shield seems to unerringly block every single bolt.

OOC: A second attempt at the perception roll can be made at this time. No need for DraconigenaArma since he already has the information. Enter: Boss battle *plays boss music*

Edit: Anyone who decides they wanted their character to have moved closer and hadn't actually said so may do so as if it had already happened. Those that moved forward may choose to be anywhere from 15-60 feet away (your choice).

Reynard's keen eyes pierce the illusion (he's squinting really hard), he briefly considers playing off his disguise again but discards that idea in favor of a simpler plan. Pointing at the "strange undead" he declares, "That's no undead, he's not even half-dead! He's just some cad in a can! Get 'im!"

Reynard tosses a conjured ball of acid at the deceptive dandy.
Dice Acid Splash touch attack:
1d20+3 (19)+3 Total = 22

That man is obviously very dangerous. Basementicus will have to be quick to keep up with him! Can he rely on his allies to back him up?

The shield and shovel appear in his hands in a flash.

"Here he comes, try to keep up! Flank him!"


The drow approaches the thug cautiously, ready to deflect any blows he may hazard a chance to deal.

Instinctively, following the lead of Reynard, Angarato activates the magic ability of his mace and launches a fire ball at the strange undead.

Willowick, having already made it undetected among the ranks of the undead, hovers well above arms reach, as well as at a safe altitude to avoid most arrows and projectiles, he locks his eyes on the mysterious figure, by innate instinct, he is looking for any and all weaknesses he can spot to report back to his party, he knows he doesn't have a whole lot of time left to get back out of danger's way.

As the little orb of acid and tiny ball of fire hit the oddly acting undead, it disrupts the illusion that he had going. At once you can see the man in his black and red half plate armor. The man simply ignores the magic user's attacks, despite taking damage from them and instead takes a quick step and with two quick strikes manages to kill another dwarf. It appears that this man's goals are to kill as many as he can right now. Other dwarves continue to fire crossbow bolts at him, but as before he continues to either block them with his shield or they bounce off his armor. It seems that he had studied up on the dwarves before making this attack. It is uncertain what his ultimate goals are though, and it does appear that he is less protected in melee combat than at a range. In the mean time, the dwarves are all trying to get away from this man as he seems to be easily cutting them down.

Basementicus lowers his guard for a bit and yips at the man's heels. He's rather upset that he would be ignored so easily and the brute would prefer to target the little dwarves.

He shouts in undercommon, "What the hell?! Don't ignore me!"

Dice Kneecap Mode:

Basementicus takes a swing at the backs of the man's knees in an attempt to knock him over.

Angarato closes the distance to the armor clad thug and approaches him from the opposite side where Basementicus makes his move. The head of his mace appears on fire and he swings it in a swift attack on the cultist thug's head.

Willowick, taking advantage of the little time left he has invisible, decides to take more direct action. With deft wings he is able to get in close, and with careful positioning, gives the would-be dwarf-murderer a good puff of Euphoria breathhappy-breath to the face, after which he then lands on the knight's back. Willowick readies his paws, hoping to pry off his helmet when and if the situation permits. He gives the rest of the party a telepathic shout-out.

"Careful not to hit me! I'm going to try and get his helmet off if I can, keep him busy! If this works, give that mace another try Angarato~"

Basementicus swings his shovel and it manages to catch just right to completely unbalance the man in the armor. He falls to the ground with a rather hard thud, shield falling off his arm and bouncing off to the side. Angarato moves into position across from the Basementicus over the man and Reynard provides some help allowing Angarato's mace to slam neatly into the mans chest. This brings a groan of pain from the man. Willowick flies over (still invisible) and breaths right in the man's face, though it doesn't seem to have any effect.

One of the closer dwarves runs over screaming and slams a hammer down on the man's chest as well, though the armor seems to hold strong despite the blow. He stands up, and manages to just barely avoid being knocked back down again by Basementicus' shovel. The dwarf standing nearby does manage a successful hit to the man's leg, causing him to make a quick limp as he steadies himself. Reynard attempts to strike the man with his staff, but his weak arms barely make the weapon thud against the man's armor. Angarato, still benefiting from his positioning and the aid from Reynard just manages to hit the man. After standing the man strikes out at Basementicus with his sword, striking soundly. The other dwarves who had been firing at him were smart enough to stop now that he's surrounded.

Basementicus, having just caught a longsword to the ribs, was still none too pleased with the situation. Alas, fighting was all he knew. When the going got tough, he would just have to come back tougher. The more experienced man who dealt Basementicus the blow and certainly wasn't ignoring the drow at this point was now surrounded. It was simply a matter of time before the party beat him to a pulp. Hopefully Thomas would gather that this is the time to act and would join them in merry gangbanging.

Basementicus looks at Angarato who stands just past the raven fighter in front of him. He gives Angarato a nod and thrusts the blade of the shovel at the man's ribs in kind.

Dice Spade-ribs strike:
d20+8 (15)+8 Total = 23


Dice Damage:
1d6+3 (2)+3 Total = 5


OOC: +2 to hit for flanking

Willowick takes hold under the edges of the helmet, still unnoticed, he gives it all of his might to pry the loose and unfastened helmet off of the assailant's head. His wings flap furiously as he attempts to pull it straight up and off.
