So, you've been accepted. Here we are.

What kind of crew are you going to be?

Options to discussOption 1: Pirates - plunder and pillage on the high seas, dodging the pirate hunters.

Option 2: Privateers - contract pirates, attacking specific shipping while dodging pirates and pirate hunters contracted to destroy you.

Option 3: Adventurers for hire

Option 4: Protection ships guarding merchant vessels

Option 5: Any suggestion you all might agree on?


Command structure. I had said that I would place 3 NPCs above you. I changed my mind. I think you'll all be officers on ship with joint responsibility as Quarter Master. Captain and Sailing Master sail and command the ship. Quarter Masters set the course and objectives. The Captain and Sailing Master offer advice and have a single vote between the two of them. Sounds good?

Hey all, I'll be playing Dix, a changeling warlock. My current plan is to fit in as a rigger/lookout on the crew, and potentially, ranged fire support in the team. But, that can easily change, as I build Dix up.

I am fairly open to the type of crew we become, but if I had to vote, it would be in this order:
Option 4: Protection ships guarding merchant vessels
Option 3: Adventurers for hire
Option 2: Privateers - contract pirates, attacking specific shipping while dodging pirates and pirate hunters contracted to destroy you.

Hello. I honestly didn't think I would make the cut. Happy to be here though, this looks like fun. I will be joining in as Nibsilum, the wanderlust smitten halfling cleric. He lacks the strength arms that you larger races might posses and isn't much fond of heavy armor, but hopefully he makes up for it by being useful in other ways.

I have them listed in order of interest:

Option 2: Privateers - If this counts pirate hunters among its numbers then this would be my first pick. If not, then swap this with Adventurers in the ranking.

Option 3: Adventurers for hire.

Option 1: Pirates

Option 4: Protection - This is ranked last just because I feel my character would seem out of place as a "guard".

Yeah!Thanks for the pick, my char isnt much of a leader but can go quartermaster, would need to change him up a bit.

Thanks Sam for reminding me. You are not locked into your character concepts. I did, in part, choose based on basic roles concepts filled. Beaters, bandaids, flash bangs, and skill monkeys. Sounds like a thread title?

So, outfit your concepts to be sailors.

So we have a tank... good.

And a Divine Caster: What flavor? Secondary Melee? Buffer? Debuffer? Battlefield control? Summons?


The warlock can do quite a few things, passably well, so I am not sure where to focus my limited skill sets. Right now, I am thinking kind of a sniper (ranged eldritch blasts and shatter), and a scout (fly/see invisible stuff). I can change all that, however, by changing my invocations, and pick up dispel magic, and be a mild debuffer. Or, pick up Charm, and try to turn the tables on the baddies via Party Face.

Or, go totally evil, and pick up animate dead, and fill our hold with undead minions.

What's the source? I haven't read that in while.

Depending upon the party and build, I may want to retrain a feat in order to get an extra invocation.

Basically, I end up with some early level feats that I won't likely do much with, but at six level, it would be nice to get an extra least invocation. I'd look at retraining one for that. There's just a lot of good least invocations that are handy for a sailor (see the unseen, swim the styx, etc.).
