I agree with any restrictions needed for combo of the Healing Hand and signature skill feats. I am looking at them for out of battle heals versus the full round action in battle.

Concerning feat tax; I am looking at the improved trip and bull rush feats.

I'll point you to a game forum once we get one.

Please add to his origin some additional details so I can know his motivation. Why does he want to be on the frontier? Why is he motivated to join with diverse people going I to danger? Who was important in his life so far and what shaped him. This does not need to be long -- but I'm looking for you to plant a few seeds for future stories. Simple is actually better than overly complex.

Got it!, i think I will get pride as a drawback. I'm seriously thinking what comba/magic trait and extra feat I should get, If you have some recomendation, I would be glad to hear it.

And I'm gladly waiting for that magecorp info.


PD: I think I might get one level of investigation (sleugh) for rp sake. I have to read about advantages and drawback of multiclassing...

Just some ideas: The team could use a divine type, and a skilled type. It might be interesting if someone wants to build off of a Pure Steam class or something that fits either Steampunk or Frontier themes.

Re: a drawback granting 1 feat + 1 trait, yes that’s as written in the original post.

Overlooked Mastermind and Passes for Human are in a very significant way opposite traits that show that Lorelei has two very opposite sides to her personality. One involves tricking people by playing up her orcishness and down her humanity, and the other does the reverse. So my interpretation is that once someone has seen her actively use the one behavior, they will not be fooled by her flipping and doing the opposite. It's like you cannot effectively move silently while screaming at the monster, "Hey, look at me [i]right over here![i]" So … both are good and useful abilities -- but employ them with care.

Tsundere as a personality description is great. But I don’t see it in the approved rules anything that gives “+2 to intimidate virgins” anywhere. So I presume you jest? (Or ... roleplay a romantic situation with an NPC any earn an ad hoc circumstances modifier -- if the situation comes up?) .

Yeah.... Sorry that was a joke. My character personalities are all based on myself in a general way. My tag is "Barbarian Princess" for a reason... I like the terms 'Archetype' and 'Persona' to identify this fantasy-form of ourselves.

Also you sure picked up on my concept right away, haha! Can't fool a good DM I guess.

As soon as you said 'frontier' I knew that's the direction I wanted to go with.

also: for Tsundere, I could have gone with (+2 Deception vs Nice Boys),

I added to the original post a section introducing the the MageCorp. It is also behind this spoiler:

 

Before Azerka was founded, there were several pre-existing states: one a dwarven kingdom with a Wizards Guild, one a Mages Society in a human-ruled coastal city, a third being a renegade faction of Magi (plural of Magus) who succeeded from the Bright Empire.

These diverse organizations -- already highly militarized in their own ways -- were gathered together and united by a human arch-mage named Sotham Gillmore and several compatriots who are now considered the founding fathers and mothers of Azerka. It started as a grand conspiracy to free humanity and mankind’s allies from the tyranny of a dark pantheon of deities. Gillmore was both a brilliant wizard but also a supremely gifted organizational leader. He forged the disparate elements into a coherent unit that drew tighter and more firmly together through the heroic sacrifices of then war of independence, and then the sometimes brutal excesses of a war of expansion.

Gillmore was a constant promoter of the concept of MageCorp. It’s principles are Lawful but neither Good nor Evil. The teach discipline, teamwork, intense focus, sacrifice, to be brothers-at-arms, of fierce courage, and fearless in battle. They embody both professional scholarship off the field of battle, and on it the spirit of oorah.

The MageCorp has a clear hierarchical structure and strict chain of command.

Rank 1) Chief of Staff - who commands the Corp and reports to the Prime Minister of Azerka
Rank 2) Director-General, who leads a Branch in the Field, or an Arbiter who nominally leads a School of magic but in practice just as often is an independent
Rank 3) Commander-General, who leads a division; several divisions making a branch.
Rank 4) Taskmaster, or Umpathkosi. The foreign-sounding names come from Magus ranks that were used among the racially black human faction who succeeded from the Bright Empire. Both forms of these names are understood and used interchangeably.
Rank 5) Strikemaster, or Shayakosi.
Rank 6) Circlemaster, or Yombukosi.
Rank 7) Approved.
Rank 8) Apprentice.

Rank 8 is 1st level, Approved is 2nd - 4th level. Each higher rank is +2 levels. (Several of the Arbiters, if they are members of long lived races like elf or dwarf, may be the very individuals who overthrew the native Powers, and are several levels higher than others of their rank.)

It is customary for each person of Rank 6 or higher to lead 7-9 people of the rank below them. The MageCorp is a quite large institution, about 1% of Azerka’s 2.5M people belong to it. So there are about a quarter million members of the MageCorp in the direct chain of command (most remain active for life.) Additionally, there are a certain number of ex-MageCorp, though it is uncommon to fully disassociate from this close-knit organization.

The MageCorp’s bases are in most of the 11 locations of capped pools of radiance. Each location characteristically trains certain styles of magic. Seven of those eleven sites have Arbiters who are loosely responsible for monitoring and guiding the use of their style of magic throughout the nation.

The MageCorp has a private language called colloquially “MageSpeak”, adapted from a pidjin form of Imperial not readily understandable without training. It is an excellent language for describing tactics and communicating military strategy with rapid precision under noisy conditions, and it is effective for conversations about spellcraft. The language is poor for other uses and useless for poetry. It has both audible and gesture forms.

The MageCorp uniforms are simple and blend indistinguishably at range with the mundane Azerkan armies: the wizards see no reason to paint bullseyes on their heads. In active duty it is typically camouflage with weapons bandannas, a side arm, and either a light crossbow or a longsword. On bases it is an everyday soldiers grey. For formal occasions black and silver. The MageCorp insignia identifies rank, School and Archetype in a manner readable by anyone schooled in the art.

Also -- I don't have descriptions of all the major towns ready to share yet, but since you are planning on being a Summoner, I'll include a brief draft note of where many of them come from, here.

 

Uglan used to be the capital of an Apekin empire. In its pool of radiance the Power named Ajir once ruled as God of Fire and of Mystic Illumination (that is, of ecstatic trances and spiritual visions). This was the site of several pitched and bloody battles. The surviving Apekin, now scattered tribes who’ve found new Powers now that their former ones are dead, still seethe with rage and have vowed undying vengeance upon human and dwarvenkind. So, Uglan is a city built on top of the ruins of a massive network of temples and pyramids.

Its pool of radiance is capped by a crystalline dome of solidified magic: the second of eleven so treated. Spinning and levitating fifty feet above it is Great Wheel -- a disk of about twenty five thousand tons of stone bound in iron. That drives the belts and axles of industry throughout the city. Uglan is the home now to arcane colleges that study Conjuration. The living legend and Arbiter of Conjuration makes her home here -- Vysephene Willowglen is her name. She is a greatly revered Lorman elf who seeking adventure and glory emigrated into a land that was under tyrannous rule. Democracy was but a wishful abstraction in the minds of educated humans. She aided the nation durings its formation, and was a boon companion to the great Delany, the man who lead the wars of independence and expansion (after whom the capital city is named.). Uglan’s academies of magic produce: Conjurers, Fey Callers, Bonded Wizards, Sword Binders and the misfits, a few Summoners. (That is more an art depending on individual inspiration than an academic discipline),.

Uglan has a medium size rail hub connecting the western Azerkan cities. It conducts a limited amount of trade with the savage reptilian races of the Five Nations to the west. Lumber and farming are common occupations -- producing cotton for textiles and sugar. A popular sport among the wealthy is Nijaho, which involves two teams riding small dinosaurs (imported from Gundulun in the far east and not found elsewhere in Azerka). These and their riders chase rubber balls around a ring, striking both the balls and the riders with rubber mallets. The game involves much shouting, arguing over fouls, copious beer drunk by bystanders, betting, and occasional bloody injuries. Uglan is known for strong rum in sweet and spicy variants.
