Placeholder, I have an Oracle in mind if that's a thing that can be.

@gravenimage, an oracle is allowed.
The divine is a bit different in this game world. One branch of religion is anti-magical and pro-technology, called the Consensus. The opposing branch of magic-based faiths belong to the Alternative. The gods mediate supernatural power which flows from specific places (pools of radiance), and outflows along ley lines. The gods themselves are long-lived mortals, and remain within the same potential power-range (max level 20) as mortals. "Planes" are not extra-planar, but far away physical locations in the Sphere. Read the materials in the original post + game folder for more details. |

Looking to see if Mundayknight, gravenimages, or anyone else has a character draft?
LMK if there are any questions. |

When do applications close? I am interested in submitting an application, but will probably only be able to get to it next week.

I don't have a date set.
My practice has been to allow players in first-come first-served, as long as the character fits and is "above the bar", without building up a large pool of people waiting. If there are multiple characters pitched around the same time, I've had my players vote in the new player. |

Since Spheres of Might are allowed, are the associated classes as well?

Ignore my previous post, I decided on something else:
Name: Draupin Kegbender Race: Dwarf Class: Gunslinger Alignment: Lawful Good Deity/Religion: The Consensus Description: Draupin is a dwarf born and raised in Azerka. Though he isn’t as stocky as most dwarves, he still could not be mistaken for anything other than a dwarf. He has white hair as well as an intricately braided white beard, complete with various metallic artifacts braided into it. He was raised by conservative parents and has always had respect for the law as well as other people. Draupin is usually quiet and reserved. Usually. Being a dwarf though Draupin has inevitably spent some time in taverns and been exposed to the joys (and sorrows) of beer. The problem is that it didn’t stop there. Beer just didn’t seem to satisfy him enough. Thus he soon turned to more potent stuff. Though he will never admit it, he eventually formed a dependency for the strong stuff, and will now quickly become cranky when he hasn’t had a nice stiff drink for an extended period of time. Also, though he considers himself a rather good example of what a law abiding citizen should look like, he has been thrown out of more than one tavern after being involved in a bar fight due to having one drink too many. Afterwards he will always claim that his “sparring partner” deserved it. Draupin also recently developed a fascination with guns. His local chapter of the Church of Azerka has a limited collection of rare and exotic artifacts including a few guns, and this, compared with firearms being his weapon of choice inspired him to start his own collection of rare and exotic firearms. Magical guns especially fascinates him, and he can never help himself attempting to unlock the secrets of any new magical weapon he comes across in his adventures. Background: From a young age Draupin has always been drawn to technology and enjoyed experimenting with it. He also always admired the Church of Azerka’s role in society. So when he was old enough he joined the Church with the purpose of becoming involved in their activities. His fighting proficiency was quickly noted by the Church and he soon got assigned to some of their more dangerous activities. The diverse nature of the jobs had him being equipped with a variety of weapons, and he eventually found himself being drawn to guns more than other weapons as his preferred weapon of choice in combat. His local chapter of the Church of Azerka also held a limited collection of exotic guns which inspired him to start a similar collection. As a dwarf in a mostly human society he never felt truly accepted by his fellow Church members. This, combined with his desire to start his gun collection eventually caused him to leave the Church and his home town. He packed his stuff and left the city. His first few days was uneventful and he spent those nights sleeping in the wilderness. While he did pack some “refreshments” for himself, it ran out sooner than expected, and he quickly found himself high and dry, so to speak. Which is why he was more than a little relieved when he topped a hill to find a small town in his sights, just as the sun was reaching its peak. The pull of sleeping in a proper bed for the first time since starting his adventure was strong, but the desire to wet his lips was stronger. He could almost smell the tavern from a few miles away. Needless to say he quickened his pace. Entering the town he found that it was called Sweetwater and that it was even smaller than it appeared at first glance. His first stop, even before finding a place to sleep, was the local tavern. Sitting down at a corner table he ordered two drinks of “the strongest you have”. When they arrived he downed the first before sitting back to relax and enjoy the second, musing on what his next plan of action would be. Last edited by VaultDwe11er; Mar 5th, 2020 at 10:01 AM. |

Hi Vaultdwe11er --
Can you give some additional flavor on his personality and motives. What's his passion, what makes him tick? Does he have any flaws/drawbacks/quirks? At the moment, Draupin is a tad bland. "Quiet and reserved" -- while common enough in real life, does not necessarily make for engaging roleplaying. For consensus characters, there are some additional options for progression here: https://www.rpgcrossing.com/showthread.php?t=193960 |

Since I have several people potentially interested, I'll make March 7 as the target date for a complete submission, and Mar 9 as the target date to decide who to admit.
Admission will by vote of the people currently active in the game. |

You didn't really say how much detail you wanted, and I didn't have everything figured out yet, so I just drafted up a quick and dirty. Will flesh him out shortly.

OK, carry on! :-)
Just for comparison, one example of an exemplary application is here: https://www.rpgcrossing.com/showthre...04#post8629404 . This is not atypical of application length and detail for many games on this site. |
