Personality: To most, Zumra exudes patience. She is not known to raise her voice, to cause a scene, or to have many vices. She keeps an air of respectability and poise, even under stress. Those who take her for indifferent or deferent are foolish. She is not sand, helplessly driven by the wind. She is a boulder: When she makes her move, she moves quickly, decisively, and overwhelmingly.

Background: Zumra's family were well integrated into the surrounding community Raven's Mark. Though her great uncle's ran the brewery that was the cause of her family's comfortable lifestyle, her mother served as a magistrate, and her father as a lay chemist for the local church of Boron, making simple tinctures that aided sleep and controlled dreams. She studied to be a clerk for the town (hoping to one day follow her mother's path), until a call went out for volunteers to take up arms against the rising evils (supernatural and otherwise) plaguing the area.

Within Raven's Mark and its surroundings, she has made a name for herself as a defender of the faith of Boron and a pious follower of Golgari. She's heard disturbing rumors about the inhabitants of Boarswood and has volunteered to help a fellow servant of the Twelve Gods complete his mission safely and successfully.

Zumra's knowledge of law, steadfast personality, and conviction to stamping out the wickedness that plague the area all make her a valuable asset for growing the area. Her path may yet take her to her old dream of becoming a magistrate.

Hello, writing up a character. Question, can a double weapon (since each end has to be enchanted as a separate weapon) exceed the 3,000 gp limit? (essentially weapon cost + masterwork cost+2000+2000 to get a +1/+1)

Personality:

Lady Sindria is refined and fair-minded. She seeks to compromise where compromise is to be had, to negotiate peace in the face of conflict, and to seek resolution over violence. Yet she knows where the lines that must not be crossed are, and more than one would-be tyrant has seen their ambitions shattered at the ends of her hooked hammer. Her cheerful demeanor, natural gnomish curiosity, and love of a good prank belie her serious manner at the negotiating table.




Background:

Born into a minor noble family in Raven's Mark, Sindria knew from an early age she would have to work hard. For while her birth came with a title, her family had very little money after decades of mismanagement. The Memsipep family essentially owned a townhome in the city with a small stable, and that was the extent of their holdings. Sindria began working in the magistrate's offices and took a liking to the law, although she grew frustrated when the law worked in unjust and unfair ways. Shortly after this, her family obtained a pure white pony for her coming of age party, and it was love at first sight. Her father, Abrom Di Memsipep, called in a few favors and arranged for a Cavalier, Hildsbret, from the city cavalry to expertly train the pony. Having named the pony Grace, Sindria wanted to be present for the training. Through this exposure, Sindria resolved to undertake training of her own, taking vows with the Order of the Blue Rose, and dedicating herself to bringing peace to the land and avoiding bloodshed where possible. At the request of her mother, Isilbet, Sindria proudly uses a Gnomish hook hammer when battle is neccessary, to reflect her people's traditions. For the next few years she served the kingdom well, negotiating peace with their neighbors, settling disputes between guilds, and protecting the people from threats of all sizes.

When Brother Travinor's mission became apparent, she immediately offered her services as a negotiator, a peacekeeper, and a defender. As an experienced diplomat, she brings skills that the new town will need, given the hostility of the land. As a member of the Order of the Blue Rose, she stands as a beacon of peace and safety. Finally, she can expertly train animals the new town may need both for work and for protection and is a somewhat skilled armorsmith.

Edit: And only now that I've finished the character I see this is very similar to @blubbhub's rough idea. Great minds and all that. Perhaps the two can know each other, be traveling companions from her days of traveling to negotiate? After all, who can resist two small cavaliers causing a ruckus?

The max of 3000 gp applies also for the double weapon. The limit is put to simulate a more or less natural accumulation of wealth/gear over time.

I promise, there will be sufficient time to upgraded/enhance/... items during the course of the game

No worries, I wasn't too worried about the weapon. Adjusted the character sheet to shift money around, should now be complete.

Gensym’s bloodlines are serpentine and fey, and his moods run cold and warm unpredictably. He operates by instinct and intuition, he does not and will not explain himself. He is opaque and unpremeditated. Truth and falsehood mean nothing to him.

Despite those baffling traits, he is kind. He is spontaneous and spreads cheer, as the fey do. He does good and shuns evil (though he cannot consider tricks aimed at humbling the proud or achieving some positive end as evil.) He loves

Background:

It is said that Gensym was discovered by followers of the Three Sisters, in a faerie ring, guarded over by serpents. His last name is simply what he was, a foundling Fey-touched, the orphan lived with the faithful and learned their lore, while he developed untutored in instinctual magic. Then in adolescent rebellion he abruptly fled to live many years among elves, from whom he learned their language, music and magic lore. It was an idyllic time for a man in his twenties.

Returning at last to live among his own race, Gensym wandered a decade as a traveling minstrel, earning his keep in town to town and using wit, trickery, and his gifts of magic. He behaved as the fey would, in acts of whimsy, in acts of kindness, in simple service when he found any in need. Beholden to no lord or estate, he followed a simple creed. Live kind, live free, spread joy, but play pranks on the proud and humorless, pass on the kindness of the patrons who had taken him in, serving those in need and asking nothing in return.

By the time Gensym was middle-aged, he had acquired a small amount of fame as a musician, and a small amount of wealth from occasional adventures. Some mistook him for a bard, some for a holy pilgrim. He would answer little about his background: but was plain he honored the Three Sisters -- even if he was anomalous as a follower.

When he heard that the Order of the Three Sisters had sponsored a mission of compassion, he immediately volunteered. He claims (and he could always be lying, because he often does) that the seeds were a sign to him that he should cease his vagrant life and himself settle down and plant his own roots.

Gensym will add to a kingdom as a kind and good hearted soul. While he cannot be trusted to tell the truth or follow law, custom or convention, he can be relied on for compassion and kindness, and defense against evil. He speaks eloquently, glibly, persuasively. He is an excellent diplomat, and when his wrath is stirred he can browbeat others into compliance.

How about somebody pitch a cleric with the poverty-stricken trait (gets +1 Survival as a class skill)?

Or an oracle of life? A strong healer with the survival skill.

Or a druid (less effective at healing but great at survival).

Two of the WIP characters would (potentially) have high survival skills (druid, order of the dragon cavalier), and depending on how they want to do it the inquisitor and/or alchemist can be good at finding their way in the wilderness. And of course a gnome can always ask some animals about where they are, though that's not always reliable

I'm already playing a divine caster in two games, but if needs be I can rework Sindria into a cleric or oracle. We have plenty of time left in the application period, so lets see what happens

As Brian's Lady Sindria Di Memsipep is already fully developed I changed my mind to a Halfling-Oracle with still the same name: Pes Hilldew - So I might close some of the gaps

Charakter will be posted during weekend.
