As you leave the city, the commoners and a few of the Guards on the wall take notice, and a few figure out what's happening. There's a small farewell waiting on the wall as a group of young boys root loudly for you're safe departure and success. As you ride, and run, off into the fields beyond the city, you find yourself in a quiet, and somewhat peaceful first day of travel. No one else was on the road that day, at least no one that you crossed paths with, so most of the trip was spent with the company included.
A few hours later, just before sundown, you managed to make it to the next town over. it was quiet, full of farmers, cattle, and a triple dose of armed guards. It seems that the crops were deemed too important to let fall to the Dæmonic attack, like so many towns had already, however this village had yet to be touched by the war otherwise.

Antony gives a slight chuckle, but otherwise doesn't react to the impomptu cheer squad. His mouse pokes it's head out of his shirt pocket, and they share a glance.
On the several hours trot he spends alot of his time observing the other members of their team, trying to gauge their personalities, their strengths and weaknesses. How they can best be used in the mission. They're going to need to settle down and speak about their actual capabilities at one point. As they reach town, he looks to Laksha and motions that they ought to settle here for the night. The trail ahead will be annoying and uncomfortable. Traveling at night invites all number of problems.

Laksha swung down from her horse when they had entered the city limits and gave Antony a knowing smile. She led her horse by the bit through the streets, taking note of the town's abundant food stocks. "What do you say Antony, should we throw moderation to the wind and indulge in a little overeating? If you don't, I know someone who would likely hold a grudge at the denial of a generous cheese portion."

"Excesses are supposed to be reined in... but if I'm going to preach moderation, I may as well point out that the food to come will be lacking, and that it's upon us to make up the difference." Ogion the mouse peaks out of his pocket once more and sniffs in Laksha's direction, as Antony rubs an affectionate finger on the furred ones head. "Ogion seems to favor the motion."

Nos gets off his horse and whispers to it before looking to the others as his horse rides out of town. Then he heads to the inn/tavern and walks in looking around. Gobaith stays hidden within his clothes.

The inn is not the type that any but the most militaristic would call welcoming. With the extra garrison, there had to be somewhere to stash all the men. There are several men sitting around tables halfway in suit, with weapons just out of reach in case of emergency, playing card, telling tales of better days, and complaining about whatever they could find to complain about. The owner's son greets your group with a face that reads of "I'm on my break" and a quick drink of water strait from the well.
He stood after looking around to make sure no one else was going to, and asked, "How many are in the party? I apologize ahead if it's more than our four beds remaining."

"There are six of us, but you need not worry about a bed for me, I do not plan on sleeping here, food and drink would be nice though," he says looking at the man/boy.

Kaia shrugged her shoulders. A long day of brisk walking hadn't left her any worse for wear, but she was eager to sit down. "I'll sleep on the floor if I have to," she said. "It will be cleaner than the ground, which is what I'm somewhat accustomed to."

The innkeeper's son counted heads, and grabbed the key to the last room. After a second of thought he switched it out for the correct key, and leads the party up a dirty staircase. On the second floor, there was a long hallway that ends with a window, on either side there are five doors, two on the left and on on the right were open showing the mess that the extra guards stationed were causing.
The boy leads you to the final door on the left. Inside there are four beds, after seeing the insides of the other rooms, this one is not only cleaner, but also has nicer decor and probably more comfortable mattresses. Apparently the innkeeper didn't want to waste his best room, probably reserved for friends and traders who leave bigger tips, on the guards he was forced to keep around.
