I may be a little delayed on my post! Busy weekend ahead, which includes me dyeing my hair a radical color~! Very exciting!

I DO have a question for you, rhaiber! I wanted to include some good memories between her and Ruiying. I was thinking of something along the lines of the two actually getting along when it was just the two of them? Cuz I get that vibe that they'd be up to shenanigans together when they don't have to worry about the other PCs think.

And Unko! Just a freebie thought! The Great Feng Wu would absolutely adore the maternal doting Parvati does. She doesn't admit it, but she loooves it.

Lemme know what you guys think when you get the chance!

Nice! I wonder if Parvati would have picked up on it, or if it's something that even she doesn't know?

So, I think that the major thing that this aspect of Parvati is "supposed to be learning" is that sometimes she's powerless. That she can be as motherly as she wants, and she can fulfill that role to its utmost, but whatever power is at her disposal, that's just sometimes not what a person needs, including someone that she sees in a child role. She doesn't realize that yet, and it's a difficult thing for her to accept. I'm not 100% sure that that will play a role in my next post quite yet. But as I've been putting her together, that's where I'm heading.

On a more personal note: this game is among my highest PbP priorities. Things are a bit rough right now, on both personal and community levels, so PbP as a whole is taking a bit of a hit. Posting may be rough for a minute (or a month). Wyn, please feel free to reach out if my activity becomes problematically slow. I'll do my best to respond to prods.

UT: sorry to hear that so many things are piling on top of you. I don’t know what your family is going through, but I do know this Texas proposal is an atrocity, so I hope you’re feeling supported fighting the good fight.

Lazer: I know I’m not putting a lot of structure in the current scene, so I hope the free-form nature isn’t causing too much of the sense of paralysis. And I guess as Seeker you might feel extra pressure. That’s definitely not my intent! Ultimately, this scene exists for connection-building. So let me just say that you have my blessing to keep things simple. I never ask for novels in posts. Good posts can be as simple as “once I was sad and they made me happy” or “they make me laugh and that’s important”. Ultimately I just want a party that has a reason to be together. That doesn’t need to be complicated or fancy.

@UT: OMG, I am sooooo sorry. When I first saw your post, I just read it as one of those standard "RL busy, posting may be slow" posts. It didn't even occur to me until I read Wyn's comment that you might be dealing with the Texas prop. My heart goes out to you and your family and please know that there are plenty of us out here on your side, even if we are halfway across the country (or the globe).

@Strange: On a significantly lighter note, I think you are absolutely right. I feel like Feng Wu and Ruiying would actually have a lot in common. They're both mischievous tricksters. Ruiying is just a little more of a high-brow cerebral comedian, while Feng Wu strikes me as more of a slapstick prop-comic. It would be like John Oliver hanging out with Carrot-top. Different styles, but similar enough intent that they can appreciate each other's work.

I too thought your message was a simple ’sheesh, life’ post, UT. I don’t know what this Texas proposal is (even with a couple of Google searches, but whatever it is I hope sense prevails.

Edit: Wyn; don’t worry about pressuring me, it’s not that at all. I just feel like responding to another character will start the words flowing and then from there I should be able to guide the narrative a bit. It’s all good.

RPGX is not a place to get “political”, so this isn’t the place to get into a lot of detail. But on the other hand, the issue is very Uncaged-related, so I shan’t pretend it isn’t pressing and important, or that you all are uninterested parties.

Basically the Texas governor and attorney general are defining any parental medical support of transgender children to be child abuse, and anyone who doesn’t immediately report such parents to the police are defined to be criminals as well. It’s another step down the Texan path of vigilante enforcement of heteronormative patriarchal rule (they have done the same for abortion rights, with Supreme Court approval).

I appreciate the well-wishes. Y'all are good people. <3 Just to be clear, it's not affecting me directly and personally, or any of my (biological) family members. But it's my community, in a pretty real sense my chosen family. I'm trying to get involved with mutual aid to help those affected in Texas now.

More broadly, there are bills (which will almost certainly made into law) in a lot of US states right now which will ban the best practices of healthcare for trans youth-- healthcare practices supported by decades of medical research and all relevant medical societies. I've been writing to legislators, encouraging others to write to theirs to oppose these bills. Where I'm at, I truly don't think that my voice will make a difference. Other places, it might. But I'm trying. Not only do I want kids to not go through some of the **** that I did, but they absolutely will not stop with dismantling trans healthcare at that point. There are already a lot of people grumbling about how any trans care needs to be delayed longer, or removed entirely.

I'll try to keep my comments to that. I think most in this game aren't in the United States. But for those that are, you can check here to see if any of it is happening where you are.

Good luck UT. It’s such a shame that hatred and fear trumps compassion so often. We humans have many flaws but I think that one is probably the most damaging one.

I have a lot to say but no energy to say it but-- girlfriend got the flu over the weekend, then gave me the flu, now we live in a house of sickness (again!!! Why?!?), but I will try to get something up for the week sometime soon.

Whew! I did it! Today was the first day I got more than three hours of sleep, so I took the opportunity to post! I think I did a half-decent job! Hamming it, like I do.

How's everybody surviving the week? I plan to sleep more for the weekend, trying to shake off the flu, but I am hoping everybody's has some chill plans ahead, especially with all the crappy news lately in the real world! We all could use some TLC and a tasty drink. And a bowl of noodles. Oh god. I am still thinking about 'em noodles.

My own life has been fine. For no good reason, this week is my school's "Spring" Break. Which helped to ease the stress of world events. To counter that ease, I'm getting quotes for undertaking tens of thousands of home repairs and improvements. As a counter to that counter, the upgrade is to solar power my house, which is exciting, and which does something infinitesimal to fight climate change.
