With the variety of archetypes, we can probably run an all paladin party and still be pretty balanced.

That is certainly possible, but I've figured out a class now.

Sophia De Leon
right-aligned image
Name: Sophia De Leon
Race: Human
Class: Cavalier (Sister-in-arms archetype)

Traits: Exposed to awfulness, Permanent Scars.
Drawback: Overprotective

Alignment: NG

History: Born in 4695, Sofia had the misfortune to be living in the north near to the Worldwound in a small town - the child of a baker and her wife (Adopted after the death of her biological parents, both soldiers). Despite the constant potential threat, they endeavoured to give her a normal life, or at least as normal as she could be given. When she was 12, however, this illusion of safety was shattered. as a solitary demon slipped past the protections surrounding the worldwound. This was a horrific occurence, her fragile body gashed and scarred, bones broken. She barely had the sense to cover and protect her head with her arms as help came - passing out from blood loss as she saw the horrific monstrosity turn to face the town guard and several retired crusaders who had taken up farming as a peaceful life.

Weeks passed and stars wheeled overhead. Despite divine healings, demonic taint lingered in her that kept her body in a constant war before her eyes opened once more and she reawoke - reaffirmed, stronger, but mentally shaken... Her parents had had the seeds of fear planted deep within their hearts and, in a bid to do the best for their daughter, sent her south to the comparative safety of Korvosa. Her deceased father's name was enough to buy her training in the guard of Queen Arabasti, to join it formally when she reached 18 (A further 5 years into the future by the time she arrived). However, this choice was... Perhaps unwise. Rumours had been shook off regarding the Queen's turning to darker methods and tyranny, but they quickly proved true. Sofia was beaten and scarred by her tutors beyond what even the demon did, breaking her into submission to obey the words. It scarecely lasted a few months but it shook her mind to its core, even once she was overthrown by several adventure. She was hastily taken by a group of fleeing Grey Maidens (What she was to become) as they began their movement to the safety outside of the cities, slowly moving to the North and to obscurity as they formed the Order of the Scarlet Rose. They did what they could to comfort and repair her damaged mind, eventually bringing her back to "herself" rather than an obedient tool. Her martial training was continued with them, if only so that she might protect herself if and when she chose to strike out on her own.

It was years until she believed she was ready, 4 years to be precise, at the age of 17. With a simple longsword, shield, and what armour they could spare, she ventured further than the others had chosen to, seeking her home town once more so that she might reunite with her mothers and feel their embrace once more and hear their words. To this day, she knows not if they are safe, nor even if they live, as there have been too many necessary diversions so that her journey may continue. Now 18, she has reached the city of Kenabres where she intends only to find odd work and resupply before continuing her journey.

Personality: Sofia is a kind soul after seeing so much hatred and terror, both in the dreams after her attack and the horrors enacted by the original Gray Maidens in crushing riots and innocents alike - vowing to never do the same herself no matter the cost. However, this is a double edged sword in that her tolerance for those who dedicate themselves to such tyranny and evils has dramatically reduced, wanting little more than to see them gone as punishment their crimes. Thus far this desire has only been enacted on bandits and common criminals.

Furthermore, she grows overly attached to her allies - willing to sacrifice herself to almost anybody who shows her extended kindness, perhaps out of a tinge of desperation after the intensive abuse in training to join the Gray Maidens...

Appearance: Standing at about 5'6", Sofia isn't an overly imposing figure - hair a golden blonde that is often tucked beneath the padding of her armour that compliments her crystal blue eyes nicely. However, above her neck is the only part of her body that remans untainted in its looks. Her chest, back, and stomach are horribly scarred from all of whipping, ritual carvings, and the claws of the demon that attacked her so young.

Despite this, her body developed well - decently muscled and resilient to the world due to the punishment it has endured, with a strong shield arm and a keen sword arm - currently clad in a relatively light armour as compared to what she would prefer to utilise, hoping to eventually don the full plate she was taught to wear as the ultimate goal. Whilst it is, to some, a symbol of tyranny, to her it is what the Scarlet Rose wears and it would be a badge of honour to have her own suit crafted so she might change the perceptions around it.

There is a VERY powerful marshall ability that allows you to have a permanent teamwork feat aura, it just fits my character far too well

That ability is basically solo tactics from the inquisitor; no one else benefits. Not sure of any teamwork sharing ability separate to that.

Well, as a Cavalier, they can always share that bonus feat via master tactician. But yeah, the only permanent aura I saw does work like the Inquisitor ability.

An all-paladin party is interesting, but you know what paladins can't do? Build bombs.

Melody Groshnak
right-aligned image

Name: Melody Groshnak
Race: Half-orc
Class: Alchemist (grenadier)
Traits: Chance Encounter, Firebug
Drawback: Oblivious
Alignment: Chaotic Good

History

Born and raised in Kenabres, the Worldwound and the crusades have been a part of Melody’s reality for her entire life. Her father was an orc warrior who had traveled from the Hold of Belkzen to face the challenge of the invading demon hordes, her mother a priestess of Sarenrae who tended the crusaders’ wounds after they returned from battle. Although young Melody never had much interest in pursuing either of her parents’ vacations, she was fascinated by the crusades. As a child, she often went to the temple with her mother and talked to the recovering crusaders (those that would indulge her, anyway) about their adventures. Once, in order to collect some “first-hand data,” she snuck out of the city to observe the battles personally- from a safe distance, of course, or so she thought. That misadventure nearly ended in disaster for her, but it didn’t dull her eagerness to study the methods of the crusaders. To the young girl’s mind, it seemed as if their tactics were fatally flawed. Time and again, for nigh on a century, the crusaders fought the demons with the same methods: either brute force and martial skill, like her father, or powerful arcane and divine magic. And, time and again, they had failed. Certainly, there had been any number of minor victories against the horde, but any sort of permanent victory eluded them. The problem, as Melody saw it, was that whatever the crusaders brought to the battlefield, whether might or magic, the demons could do it as well or better. To gain a real advantage, they needed something the demons could not match. But what?

It was years before Melody found the solution to her ponderings. A different source of power; not magic, at least not in a form most would recognize, but science. Alchemy. No fiddling about with ancient incantations and bizarre hand gestures, just the simple beauty of combining potent reagents to achieve the desired result.Unable to find a true alchemy instructor in Kenabres, she had to dig around and find the knowledge where she could. She consulted with herbalists, wizards, engineers, and at one point a shieldmarshal from Alkenstar who introduced her to gunpowder. What she couldn’t learn from teachers she studied in books, or figured out herself through trial and error. Her laboratory became her sanctuary; she spent more time in it than not, working and refining her creations, knowing that someday, they could save her home.

Personality

Melody is concerned, first and foremost, with her work. Her mostly self-taught education meant she had to devote a great deal of time to her studies, with little left for other pursuits. Even when out of the lab and not actively experimenting, her mind is at work, thinking over new concoctions and techniques, and generally not paying much attention to what’s going on around her. She has little time for history or tradition, preferring to always look ahead. She doesn’t especially like taking orders (much to her parents’ chagrin when she was younger), convinced as she usually is that she knows best what should be done. Despite this, she rarely has any great issue going along with the group, preferring to find a way to make it work rather than get into an argument.

Appearance

Melody’s appearance is an odd mix between orc barbarian and mad scientist. Between her green skin and tusks, her orcish heritage is quite clear, indeed, were it not for her small frame, one might easily mistake her for a full-blooded orc. She wears armor emblazoned with the markings of her father’s clan, along with a bandolier of alchemical vials across her chest. Her face is often covered in soot from her experiments, with a clear outline of vibrant green around her eyes, where her goggles block the dirt. Her hair is generally loose and unkempt; long hours in the lab leave little time for grooming.

Basic
Name: Selene Woundblessed
Race: Human
Class: Paladin (Vindictive Bastard)
Alignment: Chaotic Good

Traits: Exposed to Awfulness and Hard To Kill
Drawback: Headstrong

History/Personality/Appearance
right-aligned image

Of course the Wound Damned 4th Crusade failed. Anyone there could have told you that it was inevitable. There's hope, and then there's stupid blind devotion to faith, and the top brass all run on the latter. Selene took a deep breath, she could tell she was getting slightly louder with each word, and the last thing she wanted right now was for Harold, the barkeep, to ask her to leave again; she still needed another bottle of wine to get well and truly sloshed.

Resetting her volume, she continued on her spiel to the unfortunate drinking companions she shared the table with--who now knew that idle speculation about the Crusade in Selene's presence was a questionable idea. The worst part is, they don't get it, or at least they almost get it. They see the disorganized chaos of The Abyss, and see in it only destruction. They then reject the very notion of decentralization, thinking it the state of being a Demon. They stand tall, lording above us like Devils, but they are neither the Devil nor Demons they act as. They aren't capable of the levels of depraved cruelty that makes a leader amongst The Abyss so terrifying. They may proclaim that they can make the "hard decisions" but it's all pretension and posturing.

You ask them to sacrifice a battalion of Crusaders to win a strategic victory? They'll consider it thoroughly.

You ask them to sacrifice a village of Civilians for the same win? It might get humored but inevitably thrown out.

You ask them to execute half a battalion threatening to desert, so that the other half goes on a critical suicide mission? It's not even on the table.

A low rumble barks out from behind the bar, C'mon Selene, not every night, please? Last warning before I cut you off.

Sorry Harold, she half yelled, half mumbled back. She raised her glass to order for more wine, downing half of the refilled goblet before continuing to speak towards the now nearly empty table, save for a sleeping comrade in arms and the poor fool who had brought this upon them.

But it's good that they can't actually make those decisions. It's good that we aren't Demons, because if we were, if we could act like them...then why should we even win? What makes us a better alternative?

But we need to stop playing the game like them then dammit. We need to start fighting them in ways where they're weak, and we're strong. Their leaders thrive on the information game created by fighting a similarly organized opponent. We need to fall back on what makes us mortal, the thing the demons can't understand--our sense of community.
She raised her empty goblet for another refill, gulping it down with gusto.

The brass argues that's 'thinking like a Demon', while ignoring that they're trying and failing to see that they're acting like them instead..., Selene trailed off as she realized she had started repeating herself somewhat incoherently through the wine haze.

The man across the table shifted awkwardly back and forth, trying to think of something to say. Y..yeah, I mean. I dunno, it's just all screwed I guess...

~~~~~~~
Selene drunkenly walked along the streets, letting the air and alcohol battle it out; pulling her back and forth between the spinning world of drunken stupor, and the semi-sober clarity of a cold breeze. She came to rest upon the edge of a well, fumbling with the mechanism for a few moments before pulling up a bucket of dank well water. The musty stench filled her nostrils and gave solid edge to the breeze as the scent battled back the booze. She took a long look in the reflection in the water.
When did I get so old? she wondered as she looked at the creases around her mouth, the wrinkles of her forehead, and the faded scars that freckled her face. She wasn't even thirty yet, though by now closer to it than further, but the time in losing battles had taken its toll. Her skin was dry and cracked, begging for moisture, but unfortunately there wasn't any gold in a Crusaders budget for such alchemical luxuries. At least her time in Kenabres had given her a chance to wash the caked dirt and blood off, sometimes you had to take the small wins. Her short cropped curly brown hair looked awkward and unflattering to her eyes, a casualty of field work. She felt the small bundle of twine in her pocket and smiled, another small luxury of her current leave. With the ability to get it out of her face, she'd be able to grow it out again--at least for a time. Then the twine would run out and she'd once more take a sword to it, the endless cycle of small victories and defeats in a losing war. Perhaps one day she'd be able to dye it again, as she had in a past life, however that wasn't just a matter of budget it was also a matter of Crusade policy.
At almost two meters tall, she had always looked out of place amongst the other girls--no matter how hard she had tried to fit in. It didn't help that the significant scar that ran from her shoulder, between her small breasts, and through her torso, meant she never felt comfortable in anything she found cute on the other girls. She tried hard not to flash back to that day. The day she was forced to come face to face with the true depths of depravity that the Demonic was capable of. She had both lost and found something in that void between living and dying. In that void she probably should have languished in forever.
But she also never really felt at home with the Crusaders either. The brazen machismo that infected the whole organization was repulsive to her. She had joined up to snickers and sneers. If it weren't for the desperation she probably wouldn't have been let in, the fact that she was just as efficient a warrior as the rest an irrelevant detail to the hypermasculine dolts that felt emasculated by the mere competence of the fairer sex. Not to say that they were all bad, that they all treated her as an Other, only tolerated because of a more dangerous Other. But time and time again she saw those who played the game, those who treated her as second class, promoted while the kinder spirits languished.
The worst were the ones who switched sides. Those who, like her, saw the pattern and decided to give in. Decided to feed the rot infesting the foundations rather than continue to stand with her against it. She always wondered if the personal success they gained from it felt hollow.
She smiled at the reflection, which sent spikes of warm joy through her. For years liking what she saw in the mirror was an unthinkable fantasy. She felt broken and misshapen, even if she could be described as attractive when she was trying. But what she saw was a woman doing what she had to, to try and protect those who needed it; a worthwhile praxis to engage in, even if she was unsure of the vehicle she was acting through. She could be proud of that, insecurity about appearances be damned. To find that happiness in such dire circumstances felt ironic to her, but not unwelcome.
She looked up in the sky, in the direction of the Wardstone. She knew she was right, that the Crusade wasn't just doomed, but it was itself playing right into the Demons game. A game of chess with every trap accepted, every gambit misplayed. Play so bad that at times it felt intentional, as if random moves would have been better. She tried to fight off the bitter disillusionment. She joined convinced that it was how she was to help people, why she had survived. Instead she found herself more often caught up in the petty power plays between two ineffective, self-centered and self-righteous commanders. She just wished that the universe would give her a sign. This bloated, inefficient behemoth couldn't have been why she survived that terrible blow.
