Ok, so here's a bit of a background story on "Gateway", as told by the Narrator in his head.
"Damian discovered his powers quite by accident when he fell off the roof of his parent's house while trying to put up the Christmas lights (something he really didn't want to do but his parents insisted). He found that instead of hitting the ground and breaking his legs, or something else equally unpleasant, he saw a brief flash of light and then he was standing on the ground right next to the ladder. His parents, of course, didn't believe him. They thought he was just playing another prank with his imagination, like the one time he had made up the idea of his goldfish being picked up by aliens so he would not have to explain why it was suddenly dead after only one week in the tank, all by itself. So, as time went on he explored his abilities with practice and attention. Not only was he able to create openings in space where he could climb through and find himself at another place, he could control where they appeared, how large they were, and fast they moved. He discovered that these little "openings" could carry things around, and even let him reach things at a distance. He could even make things go fast or slow after they went through the openings. The practical applications for his ability were unlimited. Or, well, limited to his imagination. Ok, so yeah, they were a bit limited. But he was getting better at them. Soon he was spending time at the local gym after hours, working out and getting stronger. He started to practice his abilities lightly during the evenings, like new "vigilantes" did in the comic books. He figured he would try it on easy things, like muggings and purse snatchers. Specially the ones who rode up to you with their motorcycles and took your purse before you knew it. He did alright for a first attempt, but his inexperience cost him a few bruises and broken ribs. After that, he understood that if he was going to do this "heroing" thing in earnest, he would need to get some good practice at it, and get really good. Problem was, he didn't want to work it too hard. After all, it was still nice to sleep in on Saturday mornings. A few more years passed and he found himself in college. This is where his time was well spent. In addition to his academic pursuits, he would occasionally make himself known as "Gateway", a portal-blinking superhero. Only on weekends, of course. He did alright for a few years. It was during this time that he met "Brasher", a headstrong super-speedster, and "Lady Emerald", a flying light manipulator. They pooled their resources together and became the "Midnight Patrol", a team of younger heroes who worked locally. Their exploits were not the stuff of newspaper front pages, more like a mention in the 4th page of the local Calendar section, but they managed to keep themselves busy. Stuck cats on trees, runaway dogs, and even small fires were their usual fare, but on occasion they would manage to foil a robbery, or stumble on a strange or odd plot, and make a bit of a name for themselves in the evening's news broadcasts. They even managed to get a live interview with a local TV news crew, gaining their 15 minutes of fame and citywide recognition. They were riding high until "they" struck. The news reports came out fast and hard-hitting: Guardian and the Protectors had been defeated in a brutal ambush. Their base had been destroyed and as far as anyone knew all the Protectors had either been defeated, killed, or had disappeared somehow. News of the sudden assaults on the other teams in the nation, the Star Men in Washington, Overwatch in New Orleans, the Coven in New Hampshire, were equally grim. Heroes everywere, the big league names, the heavy-hitters, were disappearing, or were publicly defeated in violent confrontations and surprise attacks. What was a group like the Midnight Patrol to do? Emerald and Brasher faded out, leaving nothing but short notes and admonishments to not look for them. They were scared. Damian was on his own now. But something didn't sit right with him. Who were these people? What did they want? They had the power to defeat the mightiest heroes in the world, and yet they had made no demands, no take-over of governments or other institutions. No "We Now Control The World" declarations. What was going on? Damian decided that someone had to take a look into it. And it made sense for the small fry to do it. After all, they were flying below the radar. They were "no threat". Too small of a potato to make much of a salad. Or something like that. He would take advantage of the idea that he may have been easy to underestimate, easy to ignore, perhaps even easy to laugh off. If no one was paying attention to him, then he could slip in undetected, and when he discovered who these people were, he would infiltrate their base and he would... well... he would first have to have a good plan. But let's not get ahead of ourselves yet. He knew there had to be answers, and he knew there had to be more people like him: second stringers, little leaguers, C-team heroes, who could come together and join their forces to drill a small hole in the ship of these folks, and with luck, and a good plan, they might just be able to learn what happened, how to stop it, and then becomes the heroes of the day. And watch that ship sink. And that's how it all started. First order of action: find allies. Second order of action: learn about the enemy. Third order of action: lunch."

Wow Love it MrKinister! I have even had a Lady Emerald NPC is a game I ran years and years ago! Great minds! I am currently working on the latent power duplication character concept but coupled with an ability to boost other people’s powers as something like a one sided gestalt type hero again tough on points we’ll see how he turns out.

With that concept Goldmyr how do you feel about a character with the variable power used to give other PCs more points to boost their powers? Right now I’m am considering two variable power pools for this character. The first would be a classic power mimicry pool that he could use to copy some of the powers of a target he can see. The second would be a power enhancement pool that can also affect others - that would be a 20 pts pool that he could boost another players powers while simultaneous boosting whatever powers he’s duplicating or his couple of his few personal powers when needed. I am liking this concept as a keystone team player but I realize there are lots of details that I want to make sure you’re okay with before I churn out all of the mechanics and a background to boot.

Build for main character and minions are attached. All Minions will be identical so even though there's 4, only showing stats for one.

Ah, interesting. I see the minions have a Toughness of 0 and no Protection, just high defenses. Little glass jaws on wings. Interesting that you set them up as Minions, and not Summon. Nice build.

That might have been an oversight, the toughness, but this is just a beginner concept/idea. Not sure if summon would work the same way, but I'll give it a once over.

And here's Gateway's first draft. All special effects are "teleportation portals" which look like two-dimensional fields through which you can see, roughly circular or oval in shape, with luminous edges.
Notes: The "Defensive Roll" advantage represents a field of "gates" which redirect attacks away from him safely. Since he needs to be aware of the attacks Protection was not suitable.
