I have been debating jumping into this but was a bit intimidated by the point system. That said I am a big fan of Amber in any form and am going to give it a whirl. Concept attempt sent.

It's considerably better in almost all respects than the original system.. allows a much more progressive character progression. The original system is great if you want long established characters involved in a "Throne War" but is not well suited to anything else.

Status update...
I'm in the processing of finalising character 3.
Whilst I've had discussions with 2 additional potential players, neither has responded to my last PM, so I'm assuming that neither wish to play any longer.
I'm therefore still in a position where I need at least 2, ideally 3 more players, before I can kick things off properly.

Just to get the forth post out of the way...

By way of a short introduction:

I'm Ron and I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I started with Advanced Dungeons and Dragons when I was a Teen and have been a Roger Zelazny fan since then too...

I attended a couple of AmberCons in Detroit, Michigan in the mid 1990's.

Gaming friends mostly got married and/or moved away and I haven't done any RPG gaming for many years, but I'd like to jump back in.

I know of the author and title, but I've not read it. Unfortunately it definitely doesn't apply in the case of Amberites, and although very high level Chaosite shapeshifters can change their gender at will, neither group supports asexual reproduction.
However within the diverse Choasite population, that doesn't mean there aren't those whose sexual orientation isn't either fluid or who preferentially choose partners of the same gender, and logically that would apply to any children of a member of the Elder Amberite population
