Build notes: Channel Strike => Guided Hand => Mythic Guided Hand Traits: Touched by Divinity, Ancestral Weapon. Drawback: Naive. Alignment: Lawful Good History:   Desidirius Farquhar was born to a family in a remote woodlands ranch, far from any city of densely cultivated land. The Farquhars were traditionalists, living simple lives of piety, honoring all the holy gods of human civilization -- but especially Erastil. Each season has festivals and assigned tasks. Caring for the community, trust and aid extended toward neighbor, ruggedness in the face of the wild: all these things were honored. As long as Desidirius could remember, the keen eyed, devout young lad had an unexplainable affinity toward Erastil in particular. He sought, almost by instinct, to imitate everything about Erastil -- the appearance, ethics, manner of behavior: everything. He exhibited this keen attunement to the will and nature of Erastil, showing as a lad glimpses of knowledge his parents or kinfolk hadn’t taught him. The apple of his family’s eye, Desidirius lived an idyllic existence, expecting the best of people, seeing predominantly the good in human nature, and being to no small degree naive of the evil and darkness in the world. (This trait has led to him being occasionally taken off guard by the trickery of more worldly antagonists.) From his father, Erasimius, Desi inherited a cold iron morningstar, a weapon that had been in his family for generations. The world is becoming a darker place; cold iron is the oldest and truest weapon against the unnatural. Use it, and the spirits of the Farquhar clan will guide you. Desidirius always felt calm and at peace in the pastures and woodlands holy to Erastil. He always appreciated deer and hoofed beasts, honoring these creatures even as he learned to hunt them. When he was thirteen, he had a dream that he was wandering in the woods, and caught sight of a mighty stag, an elegant and muscular beast of rugged beauty. He pursued it in wonder and without fear, even though it took him into unknown forested canyons far from home. Pursuing it all day, late into night, he grew fatigued, then exhausted, then collapsed unable to follow it further. But as he feel and slept -- a dream within a dream -- the stag nuzzled his hands. When he awoke: a silver holy symbol, the bow and arrow of Erastil, was in his hand: but it was also marked into the palm of his hand! From that moment, Desi could access orisons of blessing. The mighty stag returned to him occasionally in his dreams: and each of these experiences advanced his manifesting the abilities of a priest of Erastil -- coming into this profession intuitive and untrained. He developed the abilities of his patron’s Animal and Plant domains, with the casting of entangling vines his particular specialty. When he wielded the longbow, he felt the might and cunning of Old Deadeye guiding him -- and though a novice archer, only veterans in the village where he grew up could match his use of a bow. When he came of age, Desidirius felt his patron issue him a call to serve a place beyond the horizon. Unquestionably, he obeyed. His parents and neighbors pitched in to equip him with the best in hand-me downs. Personality:   Desidirius is honest, open hearted, and blunt. Raised among simple people, he is direct, unpresuming, and earthy. He optimistically expects the best of others, and while he is naive and that may leave him at the brunt of tricks or pranks, he is no fool and can see through a stone wall (as they say) given enough time. He holds cities and newfangled ways with disdain. Following as a paragon of his patron he pursues good deeds, plain talk, and loyalty to family and community. Being uneducated, he’s prone to folk superstitions, and relies of his gut intuitions. Aspirations: to have a wife and family; to defend and protect kin and community. To fulfill the directives his patron has of him. Fears: at this stage he has almost no experience of the supernatural or superhuman-- he would fear anything unearthly, and beyond his experience. Advance technical contraptions, anything more complex than a water-wheel for grinding grain, would bewilder him. Appearance:   A handsome and naturally charismatic young man, Desidirius dresses in natural earth and wood-tones, bearing himself as a plain woodsman and hunter. The only sign of finery he bears is a silver holy symbol of Erastil, Old Deadeye. He is open with his use of clerical magic for healing and blessing all folk in need whom he can serve: and when he does he holy mark of bow-and-arrow are visible upon his palm, glowing softly. He bears this mark with pride, and hunters and peasants honor him for it even if city-dwellers scoff. The bowman is 5'10", light of build, and his dark-green eyes are penetrating and miss little. He is garbed for battle, wearing medium armor which encumbers him. His bow is a plain longbow. A discerning military eye might peg him but as a novice. An Encounter:   On the road to Mendev, the archer-priest fell in with a man near his age, one monk named Zoland, who seemed at once a kindred spirit to him in a great many ways. Simple and unworldy, good at heart, and called like him to quest into danger. "Ahead, those ... cultists! What are they doing?" Desi and Roland had been on the road a couple hours, and they were gradually overtaking a wagon of traders, when three robed figures stepped out from the underbrush, each in colored garments. One cast a spell, causing the traders and their donkey to immediate fall asleep, halted in their tracks. The other two closed on the sleeping group. Desidirius thought they were thieves, stealing from the group. But then he saw the glint of blades being drawn. Before he could react, Zoland was sprinting into danger, and fell upon the bladed cultists with a flurry of blows. "Erastil, guide me!" prayed Desi, as he drew back his longbow. He felt a sense of peace, and a great calm. A will beyond his own released the bowstring, and the spellcaster nearly a hundred feet distant did a backflip and then landed awkwardly, a pool of blood spreading around him. The monk was fighting bravely, both giving and receiving blows. Desi fired again, but he was an imperfect shot into the heat of melee, and missed. Second later, the monk, now bleeding profusely from stab wounds, had dropped both of his opponents. But a third was giving him trouble. It was ... a hideous little imp or demon, winged, wretched and twisted. It had arisen from the fallen spellcaster's side, and launched at the monk in a snarling frenzy. Zoland struck at it and then called out in a tense voice, bordering on panic. "My strikes ... they barely hurt it. It is ... healing as fast as I hurt it." The young priest watched his friend fall under the tiny demon's assault. He remembered the words of his father. You are heading into a world of the unnatural. Remember, simple cold iron, untouched by any forge of man, can defeat powers not of this world. Guided by Erastil's mystic hand, he sunk an arrow straight through the little demon's body, severely injuring it. It flew at him, scratching him repeatedly with its tiny piercing claws. The archer felt a numbness spread rapidly from what seemed but minor wounds. Staggering back, his hands were now trembling erratically; he struggled to move, to draw the bow. But again a supernatural calm spread through him. With a mighty draw and snap, a cold iron arrow went straight through the demon's left eye. It feel, dead. "Zoland!" gasped Desi. The priest ran to his friend, his movements growing ever more spastic. The monk ... there was blood everywhere. He ... stumbled to the ground. He could barely move. But opening his soul the great beyond, a radiance filled him. He channeled energy ... saving Zoland from bleeding out. He lay there, perfectly awake but paralyzed as his body had completely succumbed to the fiends poison. The traders awoke. Desi wanted to shout, Give your praise to Erastil. He saved you! He saved us all! But only a groan came out. "Awake, Belinda! What luck is this!? All dead are they?" "No, not all dead. Hey, I can fix that." Cynical and cold-hearted, the traders, a husband and wife, gathered the cultists' blades, stabbed their fallen bodies, and robbed monk and priest of much of the valuables they carried. The debated killing the young men too, but the man said to his wife; Best not. Blood of lambkins like these is bad luck. The woman examined Desi's holy symbol, was about to pocket it, but the man snapped at her. "Best not offend the gods! Drop that, and let's not press our luck further this day. We've done well enough this day!" The wagon rolled away. The paralyzed man shook with fury, but could do nothing else. Zoland awoke a little later ... and took care of him for nearly the week it took for Desi to fully recover from his poisoning. Desi remained aghast. "How could they do that? We rescued them! How could there be ... such uncaring wickedness, among men?" He was beginning to learn his first hard lessons of life away from the homestead. Later in the journey, arriving a crowded city that utterly flummoxed Desidirius, he was separated from his new friend Zoland -- and it is uncertain for the moment whether or not they shall meet again.

History: Arianna grew up in a house full of dogs. Her parents trained war hounds to be mounts for martial halflings and companions for big folk. It was a happy idyllic life for a young woman to grow up in until raiders came. They took her, her family, and their dogs. They were forced into horrific rituals and the small halfling watched as her beautiful dogs became hellhounds. Her family’s life blood fueled the ritual and then it came her turn. She was the innocent in the center the one who would be twisted most by the demonic powers. It didn’t work, the ritual warped and the evil energies were drawn into her. The hell hounds were dead, her family dead, only she and a single pure white pup lived. She carried it out with her and escaped.

Since that day she has turned to Sarenrae looking for forgiveness for living when no one else did. She and her mount “Radiance” wander the world righting wrongs and trying to help people be better.

Personality: Perhaps Arianna ought to be bitter or cynical. She is not, she believes that there is some good in most people, that diplomacy should always be tried first, and is slow to anger. That said, when she will not abide evil doers who refuse to surrender and will not hesitate once diplomacy has failed. Her lance and Radiance’s teeth are always ready.

Appearance: Arianna has long blonde hair, blue eyes, and is tall for a halfling at 3’ 3” and has a stocky build. She is a bit less light on her feet than many of her race.

House Theven is an old House and it has 4 Dukes and scores of Count and Viscount in the family genealogy. House Theven had already participated in Crusades, starting on First Mendevian Crusades, almost one hundred years ago due their fervent belief to Iomedae. Since then, it has already become family custom to send their third sons or daughters for Crusade. Dozar Theven's father is Harolf Theven, third son of Baron Marduk Theven who has area on about 100 miles eastern from Kenabres. That is why Harolf Theven joined Fourth Crusades when the church called. And when serving Fourth Crusades, he met Allaria Moongate, elf priest to Alseta, and fell in love with her. Their marriage is blessed by House of Theven since they don't take any prejudice to elf nor they strictly forbid interracial marriage between branch family with others, moreover any child that the couple has would become Child of the Crusades, he would not inherit any of House Theven property, except for some small token of money to "buy good armor and weapons". Harolf's faith to Iomedae was quite shaken under many betrayals of hidden cults and witch hunt and chose to retire while still helping Crusades by training new recruit or Kenabres militia while Allaria is still priest of Alseta, who helps blesssing and guarding the gate to the city or welcome interfaith dialogue between various priesthood. Since he was still small, he always heard about the great story of First Crusades. And since he often plays together with other crusaders' children as well as Kenabres' boys, he had begun to romanticize crusades. Some of his father's old war buddies were also often come to their house and told exaggerated old stories, making him dreaming that he would someday kick demon to Abyss where they belong and close Worldwound once and forever. However, the reality kicked in when he was 18. 5 years ago a cult of Deskari thought that they could kidnap and brainwash Dozar so they could infiltrate House Theven through him. They successfully kidnap Dozar and brand Deskari unholy brand on his hand. But before they could do anything else, Dozar was rescued by Harolf, Allaria and Harolf's old war buddies. Since then, Dozar understand that crusades aren't as good and the story. The reality sank in and since then, Dozar double down his effort to ride and become cavalry unit. Due to his family inheritance, he could equip good armor and weapon to fight. However, he still needs experience to fight, not just mock battle with other trainees.   Personality: Dozar is quite cheerful and humorous person for close friends. But since his kidnapping 5 years ago, he becomes a little wary to strangers and often choose to keep distance before deciding his next reaction to them. Since he was trained to become soldiers, he had long accustomed to do orders without question them, as long as he believes in the person or being given by higher rank commander. As soldiers, he knows the importance of discipline and obedience to the command given. And when he delivers order, he expect his order would be obeyed too.   Appearance: Dozar is quite good looking while also muscular enough, although still move quite gracefully. He usually used his Chainmail armor which has his family emblem on it. He has draconic horse, specialty of his family, to serve him as mount in his own Crusades. Dozar's height is 5'8" and 130 lb weight. He has hazel eyes which looks like his mother, but blond hair like his father. His ear is not as pointed as elf, but not round as human, showing his half elf race clearly.

@Norse yeah, I understand that. The tetori monk specificaly grants unarmed strike and improved grapple as bonus feats at first level. Unarmed Combatant essentially means that the class loses a feat. It's not a super difficult fix, they would just need to pick a different bonus feat, but that's if the GM wanted to go that route
