Welcome to the fray, Admin Dirk and Toad'~! I am not gonna lie! We've got some pretty dang cool prompts planned this year~!

And ooh, GodRosen, go for it! I had a great time last year when I was an entrant! I made some spectucular monsters doing the event.

Of course, let us know if anyone has questions! savo, BB, and I are here to answer stuff! We also encourage any lurkers who are not sure if they want to join or not to hop in here as well and chat. It is always nice to meet more folks during a community event, and we love to gab here!

So, I'm going to ask the really dumb question so everyone can laugh at me: For R0, can we write an advertisement for something which already exists assuming we don't reference it in any way or does it need to be for an entirely new plot?

Another way to word it is: Are we allowed to make a unique sales pitch for anything or do we need to make something new for the unique sales pitch?

No worries... ask anything you like here.

Short Answer: You can do either. Its up to you.

Longer Answer:: There is no rule against reskinning your own work. For example, if I wanted to write something for Darkmatter: The Hoffmann Institute, even thought I can't even count how many times I've pitched if 'here or there' when recruiting over the years, I certainly could.

But, if you want to get the best feel from the judges in the future rounds, you may want to branch out and write something new, specifically for Iron DM 2024. This is a great chance to get a feel for what to expect in future rounds, get some feedback on your writing and creative juices and so on.
