Plot Summary You are a teenage girl dealing with all the worries and frustrations of people your age: getting good grades, meeting the expectations of the adults around you, crushes and bullies, fashion and faux pas, and staying abreast of all the latest gossip. As if that weren't enough, when you get too stressed, you transform into a skyscraper-sized monster capable of demolishing entire cities. Can you be happy, excel at your academic pursuits, AND rescue your friends and family from the insidious attentions of monstrous mutations, alien invaders, and killer mechs? ----- This is based on a one-page one-shot by Grant Howitt. I'd advise you against looking at the source material if you intend to play, though there aren't really plot spoilers as such. ----- The System is a simple d6 system. I don't know the origins but here are the rules:   When you attempt an action and the outcome is in doubt, roll a D6. Roll an additional D6 for each of your talents (schoolgirl form) or monstrous abilities (kaiju form) that would help you achieve your aims. The GM determines the Challenge rating of the action - 1 for simple tasks, all the way up to 10 for truly epic feats. For each dice that shows 5 or more, reduce the Challenge rating by 1. When the Challenge rating is 0, the task is complete. Every time you roll dice, the situation evolves and develops - it doesn’t stay static. (Multiple characters can team up to tackle the same challenge.) When you attempt an action but none of your dice show 5 or more, add a red stress dice to your pool. When you make a roll, roll all your stress dice as well and treat them as regular dice - but if you roll a 1 on a stress dice, once the action is resolved, you shift into whichever form you’re not currently in and remove all stress dice from your pool. You can voluntarily put Stress dice into your pool if you want to have a higher chance of succeeding at a task. ----- Character Creation SCHOOLGIRL FORM   You will have 3 talents based on your answers to the following simple questions: 1. Your favorite subject at school. 2. Your hobby. 3. The thing you do your parents/guardians wish you wouldn't. You should also specify: Personality A best friend *Dreams *Insecurities Style Clique Etc. Whatever helps you flesh out the character, really. The mandatory ones are *'d. You will also have a particular school drama that you are dealing with. Feel free to pick from (or roll -- NOT IN THE THREAD) those below or create your own. SCHOOL DRAMA 1: A new transfer student wins all the sporting medals 2: Your rival is sabotaging your culture festival exhibit 3: You’re tutoring your crush, but they’re really dumb 4: You want your first kiss to be as special as possible 5: Your new English teacher is an absolute nightmare 6: You have to sneak out at night if you want to spend time with your friends KAIJU FORM   Pick (or roll randomly) three of the following monstrous abilities that you gain access to when you transform into a giant monster: 1. Background: Mimi Lancaster was raised in a strict Christian household, where church attendance and upholding family values were non-negotiable. However, as she entered high school, Mimi began to push back against her parents' rigid expectations, exploring her own identity through gothic clothing and punk rock music. Despite this, she remains a straight-A student, excelling academically and on the volleyball court. Recently, Mimi took her rebellion a step further by starting her own punk band with her best friend, Riley Winters.

Personality: Mimi Lancaster is a walking contradiction—at least, that’s how her parents see her. On the surface, she’s the perfect daughter: a straight-A student, a star on the volleyball team, and a natural leader who recently started her own punk band. But beneath that polished exterior is a fierce, rebellious spirit that’s been quietly brewing since middle school. Mimi’s love for gothic clothing and punk rock music is more than just a phase—it’s a declaration of independence. She’s witty, sharp-tongued, and has a knack for sarcasm, often using humor to mask her deeper insecurities. While she appears confident, especially when performing on stage or playing sports, Mimi is deeply afraid of disappointing her parents and struggles with the fear that she’ll never truly belong in any one world—whether it’s the perfect, orderly life her parents envision or the chaotic, free-spirited world she yearns to explore.

Best Friend: Mimi’s best friend is a girl named Riley Winters. Riley is everything Mimi’s parents wish she wasn’t: outspoken, unapologetically rebellious, and completely unfiltered. Despite this, or perhaps because of it, the two are inseparable. Riley’s the one who first introduced Mimi to punk rock, took her to her first underground concert, and convinced her to start their band, “Dark Echo.” Riley often pushes Mimi to stand up for herself and embrace her rebellious side, causing growing tension with her parents.

Dreams: Mimi dreams of a future where she doesn’t have to choose between the different parts of herself. She envisions a life where she can pursue her love of music without fear of disappointing her parents, where she can study astronomy and uncover the mysteries of the universe while still rocking out on stage at night. In her wildest dreams, she’s a world-renowned astronomer by day and a punk rock icon by night, seamlessly blending her two worlds into one. But beneath these grand ambitions lies a more immediate, desperate dream: the hope that one day, she’ll finally feel like she belongs—somewhere, anywhere.

Insecurities: Despite her outward confidence, Mimi is plagued by a deep sense of inadequacy. She constantly worries that she’s not good enough—not for her parents, not for her band, and not for herself. The pressure to maintain her perfect grades while secretly defying her parents’ expectations is exhausting, and she often fears that she’s living a double life that could come crashing down at any moment. Her biggest insecurity, however, is the fear that she’ll never be able to reconcile the different parts of herself—that she’ll always be stuck between the person her parents want her to be and the person she truly is.

Style: Mimi’s style is a blend of gothic elegance and punk rock edge. She favors dark, flowy fabrics—think black lace dresses, leather jackets, and combat boots. Her makeup is bold, with dark eyeliner and deep red lipstick, giving her a fierce, almost otherworldly appearance. She’s known for her signature black choker with a small silver star pendant, a subtle nod to her love of astronomy. Despite her parents’ disapproval, Mimi’s style is a crucial part of her identity, a way to express her inner turmoil and rebellious spirit without saying a word.

Clique: Mimi’s clique is a motley crew of misfits, each one a rebel in their own right. They’re the kids who sit at the back of the classroom, the ones who refuse to conform to the school’s social hierarchy. They’re artists, musicians, and dreamers, united by their shared disdain for the status quo and their love of all things alternative. Despite their tough exteriors, they’re fiercely loyal to one another, always ready to stand up for their friends and protect each other from the judgmental eyes of their peers.

Kaiju Form: When Mimi transforms into her kaiju form, she becomes a towering figure with great and terrible wings that shimmer like the milky way. Her voice rings out in a deafening shriek that can level buildings and shatter glass for miles. But perhaps the most striking feature of her kaiju form is the massive bone sword that extends from her arm, a weapon of destruction that symbolizes the internal battles she’s fought her entire life.

RP Sample: Mimi Lancaster stood in front of her bedroom mirror, adjusting the black lace choker around her neck. It was a small act of rebellion, but one that made her feel just a bit more like herself. The dim light cast shadows across her room, highlighting the posters of punk bands she’d carefully hidden from her parents' disapproving eyes. With one last glance, she grabbed her volleyball gear and slung her guitar case over her shoulder.

As she headed downstairs, the scent of breakfast lingered in the air, and her parents’ voices carried from the kitchen. “Be sure to make it to church on time tonight!” her mother called out, her tone leaving no room for argument. Mimi paused at the bottom of the stairs, feeling the familiar tension coil in her chest.

“Yes, Mom,” she replied, her voice even. She knew better than to argue—it wouldn’t change anything, and besides, she had already planned to slip out afterward to meet Riley and the band.

"How long is she going to dress like this?" She heard her father ask, tone growing ever more annoyed. She bit her tongue and made for the front door.

"And what's with this band? She used to sing in the choir! It was so lovely! God know's whats going on in that head of hers!"

She threw open the door and slammed it hard behind her. She wouldn't be going to church tonight.

Release the Kraken!: Name: Talia Bracewater Background: Talia was the star of the swim team from the time she could walk, maybe even before then, she could swim. She might have been shy and awkward and never felt like she fit in, like a fish out of water in social situations but she managed to survive. Hobbies and Interests: Favorite Subject: Math Favorite Hobby: Swimming Extracurricular Activities: School newspaper, chess club, Mathletes, Yacht club Personality: Talia is a bit shy and awkward around others but she is outgoing and fun when you get to know her. She loves sea creatures and plasters her book covers and notepads with dozens upon dozens of stickers of all sorts of undersea life. Best Friend: Darcy Summers: Darcy is much a kindred spirit and as good a swimmer as Talia except in the breast stroke while Talia prefers the freestyle. Dreams: Talia dreams of one day competing in the world's Olympics in swimming. Insecurities: Talia is always insecure about her ability to talk to new people and worries that one day, it will interfere with her dreams, she especially hates public speaking. Style: -Light and airy, most often a crop top and denim short shorts with a two-piece bikini underneath and bright blue canvas shoes. She likes to keep her hair loose and wild. Clique: If she fit in with a clique that wasn't affected by her social ineptitude, it would be the nerds, she's a nerd, no doubt about it. Kaiju Form: Her other form is that of a giant octopus, Eight-limbs that are wildly writhing tentacles and if that wasn't dangerous enough, she can let out loose with a Deafening Shriek. She resembles some kind of giant Kraken but even bigger as she meanders her way through the victim city with her tentacles. RP Sample: Talia can't wait to get into the gym, she found out from Darcy, who found out from Janet who heard from Jillian who has Gym during second period instead of fifth like Talia, that they were going to be swimming today for Gym class. She was so excited but the hallway was cramped and she could barely squeeze through, she looked to Darcy, squished shoulder-to-shoulder with her, "We can't be late for class! Swimming!" She pushed and struggled through the crowd but when they emerged, they found themselves face to face with Dawn and her two girlfriends, Beatrice and Bethann, "Where do you think you're going, nerds?" she chides the two other girls. Talia backs down a bit and falters just as Darcy steps forward, getting right in Dawn's face, "We're going to Gym class, *****. Now, get out of the way." but the sentence was cut short as Dawn reached out and slapped Darcy across the face at the word '*****'. Talia gasped and then went from zero to sixty in the blink of an eye, her right arm became a tentacle and as he face turned red and was about to explode, luckily, she was hidden by Darcy, She let out a scream from the back, "Get out of the way, Dawn!!" that was so loud and shrill that the glass in the display case nearby trembled and everyone in the hall froze. Her tentacle turned back into an arm as she rushed forward, grabbed Darcy and pulled her around the stunned Dawn and friends. They rushed off to Gym class together and enjoyed their swimming lessons.

I can't say for certain. It's pretty rules-light, so I'd hope for a fair-to-decent pace. No idea on the weekends thing. It all depends on player availability, really.

Yes, your character is well aware they can transform into a kaiju.

The transformation is more-or-less "at will." There is a "stress" mechanic, however, which can force a transformation or de-transformation. The most popular touchstone I can reference is the Incredible Hulk. There's a self-trigger for transformation but also external triggers under extraordinary circumstances. Should create some interesting situations.

Kaiju are not secrets in this world. Attacks are relatively common. Y'all are the superheroines defending your city, family, and friends from all manner of (gigantic) threats.

Alas, my knowledge of BB code is limited.
