Rory O’Connel Name: Rory O’Connel Class: Monk (Eventually Way of Mercy), Extra Feat: Healer Personality traits 2: I know how to both break bones and mend them. Disputes should be settled one-on-one with your fists. Ideal: I break dungeons because it prevents monsters from hurting innocent people. Bond: I am proud to represent my fellow National Guardsmen and combat medics as a dungeon breaker. Flaw: I answer insults with breaking noses. biography: Rory grew up in Chicago to a blue collar steel worker family. You grew up tough and honest or the city swallowed you up. Rory got into a lot of fights he didn’t want to growing up. He didn’t enjoy hurting people, but he would not take any insults to him, his family, or his friends. While he had nothing against his family’s line of work, he wanted to help other people in his daily life. This want along with only average grades led him to enlisting in the National Guard to train as an EMT/paramedic, so he could get hired as one once his time serving was up, and he was a civilian again. There was a need for emergency medical personnel ever since the “dungeons” arrived. Even if monsters didn’t come out, violent crime would spike while the local authorities’ attentions were focused on setting up barriers around the dungeons. The 22 year old felt accomplished and satisfied with his work. He was making a difference in his own small way. Then the dungeon in Chicago came again. He was just walking along with his groceries when it appeared. The mist spread out enveloping him. As usual, the authority rushed to the scene telling him to leave the area. Rory did as he was told after coughing up some of the mist. On the way home, some thug tried to shake him down for his wallet. Rory found that not only could he easily dodge the knife coming at him, but his uppercut sent the guy flying into a nearby dumpster knocking him out cold. The paramedic checked to make sure he didn’t accidentally kill him. Thankfully, the man was alive but unconscious. Rory wondered if the mist had turned him into a dungeon breaker like he heard the stories of. Rory went to the association where all dungeon breakers are trained and evaluated. Sure enough the mist had chosen him to be a dungeon breaker with increased physical abilities. He got some basic training on how to properly use his new powers and was quickly sent to enter the dungeon. Now he could make a real difference and save lives. His primary goal would be to keep the other breakers alive and provide additional melee support.

Application   Name: Kicia "Kiki" Sable Class: Rogue (Soulknife Subclass) Personality traits: Ambitious. Kiki wants to be the one at the top; with all the fame, power, and riches she could dream of. Opportunistic. Constantly trying to find ways to gain an advantage, whether in a fight or a lunch meeting. Ideal: Guile. Quick words and quick blades are handy, but don't forgo a proper plan. Bond: I was abandoned by friends and family when I needed them most. I can't stand to see it happen to others. Flaw: Suspicious. I'm slow to truly trust others, even if I genuinely care. Biography: Kiki is from a poor family in Chicago. Some bad decisions and worse luck resulted in her being born the youngest of five siblings, with one more brother born after her, bringing their total to six. Her parents seemed to have the idea that they would just have kids until they were blessed with a prodigy that could get them out of the poorhouse. The amazing thing was that this almost seemed to work; just not to the extent they were hoping for. Kiki's brothers and sisters all seemed to find their knack quickly. Her eldest brother was athletic enough to get a football scholarship. Her oldest sister had a strong business acumen and ran her own hair salon. Even her younger brother was making good money on twitch doing let's plays or vtubing or something like that - she was never sure what he actually did but it paid bills. Kiki herself always struggled and basically just had this weird hope that she would win the lottery without playing it when the first Dungeon Event happened. She had recently lost a job for mouthing off to her manager, and before long her parents got fed up with her freeloading and kicked her out, her friends revealed themselves to be mostly fair-weather (though she did have a couple who took her in for a while before she wore out her welcome there as well). She quickly fell in with a gang as it felt like the only way to survive on the streets. When she awakened to her power, she dropped the gang that had become second family without hesitation - her eyes clouded by the riches and fame she could attain now. In her mind, she just had to cut ties with the rest of her past and embrace her new future. She'd show up the people who abandoned her and be more successful than anyone in her family. She does still feel a pang of guilt for leaving her old gang members like her birth family left her, but she tells herself that once she strikes it rich, she'll go back for them. Of course she will.

Personality Trait: I take great pains to always look my best even in a battle I am always "Camera-ready" Personal Ideal: Never break character, my greatest role to date is that of an up an coming dungeon-breaker and I am up for the challenge. Sarge Name: Master Sergeant Corban Petry Class: Cleric (Order Domain) Personality trait 1: I'm full of inspiring and cautionary tales from my military experience relevant to almost every combat situation, some are even true. Personality trait 2: I'm always polite and respectful, until I'm not. Ideal: I serve for my team, my country, my species, in that order. Bond: Someone saved my life on the battlefield. To this day, I will never leave a friend behind. Flaw: I obey the law, even if the law causes misery. Biography: Master Sergeant Petry has served over 30 years with distinction in the United States Army, an educated man who earned his degree during his first tour, Petry was pushed towards a commission early on in his career, but the young Lieutenant Petry was swiftly discharged from his commission for striking a superior officer on the battlefield. It was only the testimony of his men on the ground, and the influence of a high ranking sponsor, that kept the young officer out of Fort Leavenworth Correctional, instead given a much lighter reduction in rank back to Enlisted. Having lost the faith of his sponsor and the favor of his command, Petry needed to work tirelessly to climb back up the enlisted ranks a feat almost unheard of for someone who had fallen so far. It was unfortunately not long after his promotion to Senior Enlisted that the Dungeon Events started. Corban had long understood that war had always been a playground of the rich and influential, an arena where they gambled lives for resources and power. What he had not understood was how quickly conventional warfare would be abandoned for the riches of the Dungeons. War was a thing of the past, why fight your neighbor for oil or precious metals when they paled in comparison to the power of mana cores? Why spend millions of dollars training soldiers who would never compete with even the most green of heroes? Militaries stagnated, recruitment dropped off, indeed many members were let go, retention a concern of the past. Nations now more concerned with defending their cities and the future dungeons they would spawn over attacking neighbors. After all, war caused death and therefor population loss, and population was the bait that brought in the Dungeons. It wasn't until the Fall of Atlanta that the numerous countries realized that some form of military was still needed, it only to hold off the denizens of these magical portals if the Dungeon Breakers failed. Still, having reached his 50's, his body broken from decades of war and conflict, Corban was ready to retire and settle down. A confirmed bachelor, Petry had no family to retire to. However, after the bloodbath of Atlanta there seemed to be little left for the old solider to do. He was too slow for the battlefield, painfully so, and speaking of pain Corban couldn't remember a time he didn't feel his bones ache or his joints pop. He was also ill-suited for Command Staff, the old warhound uncomfortable behind a desk, plus the young Captain (now General) he had once struck still had it out for him, making his life hell in small, petty ways. So with a heavy heart the Master Sergeant put in his paperwork and started the process for retirement. It was as much a surprise for him as anyone when he awoke the next morning pain free, and feeling stronger than ever. Not believing his fortune Corban checked into medical and was shocked to discover his life was just starting, he had been enlisted once again, this time by a higher power, for a war unlike any he had ever fought before.
