Due to low interest in the past week, I'm going to be closing the thread. It was worth a try! ^ -^"

Setting and Plot The year is 1998. The President of the USA is embroiled in a scandal with an intern. The Olympics are being held in Nagano, Japan. Cellphones are brick-like. Payphones exist. Airport security is so lax, you can walk right to the terminal- and the economy seats aren't even that cramped! However, beneath the normalcy of 90's American life is a world of psychics. The united psyche of America is a vast sea of mind and emotion- and occasionally- something terrible breaches from the depths of the churning psychic waves. These manifestations of the human psyche are called Sin- and they threaten the physical world, thousands if not millions of lives, with their very existence. You are an exorcist from CAIN, a global clandestine organization who has one goal: to exorcise every last Sin. As an exorcist, you are a tool and a soldier - wielded against threats unseen by mortal eyes.

Information You don't need a sheet completed to apply. In fact, since characters can beef-it fairly easily, the application process will be mostly first-come-first-serve. If you're down to get the game and play, step right up! I think I could handle a total of 6 players, max. I'd like this game to be on an almost-daily basis, excluding weekends and holidays. Even if you don't make an RP-post, an OOC-post is fine. In addition, I encourage you to write shorter posts to keep up with it better. Some weeks are bound to be slower than others, and that's okay so long as things are moving along. Since this is a horror game about psychological trauma, I'll definitely be asking for Lines and Veils from the group; in addition to the site's usual PG13-rating standards.

Quick notif for anyone who's interested in this game but don't wanna drop 10 bucks - apparently, you can pick it up from Tom's Patreon for even cheaper than what he sells it on itch. And as a shameless Tom Bloom shill, I can say his books are worth picking up for the art alone.

So, should we not drop characters here? Just making sure cuz I definitely spent some of the evening figuring out a vibe and messing around with the character creation. >_>

Wow, this may be one of the most thematic core books I've ever read through.

The system and the game world seem very intertwined. Much more detailed than I had anticipated.

Almost daily is much faster paced than I'm used to, but if posts are short I could see how that would work better for a game like CAIN.

Don't really have a solid character concept in mind yet, too many details to absorb, but I'm definitely interested.

@Signet: I see the posting rate as more of a goal than a hard rule- I personally keep up better if I'm looking and responding to posts (ooc or ic) regularly. I'm never going to be that person that's like "oh if you didn't respond in two days, you're out" lol.

As for the thematic-ness; right!? It's totally captivated me! ^ -^
