Powers
Body Modifications
-The character’s skin can change color, like a chameleon’s or squid’s. The player adds three dice to his Stealth skill totals, as long as the character is mostly naked or wearing attuned eufiber.Chromatophores
-Instead of a pair of human legs, a nova with this body modification has a muscular snake-like tail that’s thick enough for him to balance himself on. If the nova is of normal human proportions (roughly 150 to 180 centimeters tall), this appendage will be anywhere from four to five meters long, measured from the nova’s pelvis to his tail tip.
Instead of walking in the human fashion, the nova can use the specialized muscles and scutes (stomach scales) on the underside of his tail to slither on the ground at his normal speed for walking, running and sprinting. What’s more, the nova can slither at full speed with his torso in either an upright or horizontal position. Upright slithering is no different from normal walking, but horizontal slithering adds a +2 difficulty penalty to all ranged attacks made by landbound foes against the nova- it’s hard to hit such a small target, much less a moving one. Airborne foes and those making ranged attacks from an elevated position will have no such problems. The nova’s tail can also be used to strike his opponents in combat (treat this as a kick maneuver), inflicting Strength +4 bashing damage.
This is a permanent alteration to the nova’s body and he will effectively have the “Legless” Mega-Dexterity aberration. The nova will be unable to jump, but cannot be tripped or immobilized by a minor leg wound. The nova will also be unable to wear many garments tailored for normal humans, and may encounter difficulties in using foot-operated controls or riding in vehicles. This body modification also looks extremely weird to normal humans, and may cause difficulties with sexual activity.
Serpentine Tail
-The nova’s torso and abdomen has become 4 meters of muscular coils, much like that of a python or other constricting snake. It will grant him +3 extra dice on any Brawl or Martial Arts rolls to place a foe in a Clinch or Hold (Aberrant core, p. 244).
Novas with this body modification will also face minor problems with wearing normal clothing, which can be avoided by either using the Attunement Background, wearing attuned eufiber or leaving the midriff bare.
Serpentine Trunk
-The character can extrude spikes From his body, or perhaps his body is naturally edged (For example, a nova made of living crystal). The spines change the nova’s clinches, holds and tackles to lethal damage and inflict an amount of lethal damage equal to the attacker’s damage dice pool (maximum 10 dice) on anyone contacting the nova with a Brawl or Martial Arts attack.Spines
This power allows the character to Fly through the air, outer space and similar three-dimensional areas. He can fly at a speed equal to (power rating x 4) + 40 meters per action in combat; out of combat his speed is (Quantum + Flight) x 50 kilometers per hour. Normally, no roll is required to use Flight. If tk character wants to perform aerobatic stunts or fl through narrow openings at high speeds without hurting himself, the Storyteller may require a Dexterity + Flight roll to determine whether the character succeeds. TI character may also substitute Dexterity + Flight for normal Dodge roll while in the air; depending on th character’s movement, this may allow him to dodge explosions and area attacks, though particularly large-scale blasts might cost the character his entire action.Flight
Intuition is a lesser Form of the Premonition power. Like Premonition, it warns a nova of potential threats and dangers. However, it is less sensitive, and it works somewhat differently.
As with Premonition, the player must make a Perception + Intuition roll to determine if there is danger. The differences are twofold. First, Intuition is permanent. The character does not have to spend quantum points or otherwise turn his Intuition on; it’s constantly active and on the lookout for dangers. Second, the warning provided by Intuition is much less precise than the me given by Premonition. When the character makes this roll, the Storyteller simply tells him that he feels that “something is not right here.” The more successes the character achieves on the roll, the more precise the Storyteller should be, but in no instance should he provide as much information as Premonition does.
Intuition alerts the character only to dangers to himself. It provides no warning if someone nearby is in danger.
Intuition
The Mega-Dexterity rating is added to the character’s Initiative, run and sprint scores. Furthermore, when a nova with Mega-Dexterity is in combat and another character tries to use a delayed action to interrupt the nova’s action, the interruption is not automatic. Instead, both characters must make Dexterity rolls; the one with the most successes goes First. If a nova with Mega-Dexterity and a character without it act at the same time, the Mega-Dexterous character is automatically considered to have the higher Initiative, and thus, he gets to go first. If both characters have Mega-Dexterity and the Enhanced Initiative enhancement (see “Mega-Wits”), the standard rule appliesMega-Dexterity (A nova with Soft Fist can make a Dexterity + Martial Arts roll as an automatic action whenever he is the target of a close combat attack, provided that the nova is aware of the attack. If he gains more successes than his attacker does on his attack roll, the nova can redirect the attack onto either the attacker or another assailant. The attack will inflict both the normal amount of damage and +1 die for every extra success the nova gains on the initial Dexterity + Martial Arts roll. This enhancement normally has no quantum cost. This changes when attempting to redirect the attack of a nova with Mega-Strength and/or Mega-Dexterity, as the character will have to spend 1 quantum point per redirection of an attack from such a nova. Also, attacks dependent on a nova’s own quantum powers (Claws, Immolate, etc.) cannot be redirected to harm the attacking nova without use of the Disimmunize power.Soft Fist) •
Take it all in – every detail, every nuance, every little fact. You may not remember them very long (that’s a function of Intelligence), but you don’t overlook things. Excellent for sentinels, guards, detectives and trackers.Mega-Perception (The character spends a quantum point to activate the power for (Perception + Mega-Perception) turns. While doing so, the character gains an additional three dice on any Awareness roll related to vision. Additionally, this enhancement provides a number of benefits:
1. Ultraviolet vision: The character can see in the ultraviolet (“UV”) spectrum, allowing her to see clearly and without penalty whenever UV illumination (such as from the sun, moon or stars) is present. Like a cat, she is able to see in conditions of very little light. The character can see as well in darkness as in daylight, provided that there is at least some light (even faint starlight is enough). If she is in total blackness (such as an unlit underground room), she cannot see.
2. lnfrared vision: The character is able to see in the infrared (“IR) spectrum. Not only can she see anything illuminated by an IR light, she can see the heat given off by living things and hot objects. Hot things appear “bright,” cool things “dark.”
3. Visible light attuner: The character can magnify objects in her line of sight, as though she were a high powered telescopic scope or electron microscope. Usually, novas use this ability to view tiny objects which would ordinarily be beyond the character’s range of vision, but it can also help see objects at a distance. The character can also see distant objects as if they were close up. For each dot OF Mega-Perception, the character can magnify distant or tiny images by a factor of 10 (x100 at Mega-Perception 2, x1000 at Mega-Perception 3, etc.). Use of this enhancement negates range penalties, as well as difficulty penalties suffered when striking at characters with the power of Sizemorph (Shrinking).
Electromagnetic Vision) •
You can go weeks without sleep, and your healing rates are tripled. Base Resistance and Endurance ratings of 3 each. Lifespan 150+ years. Dice pool penalties due to injuries and pain are reduced by one. For each dot in Mega-Strength, a nova can carry up to 100 kilograms of weight without being encumbered. Olympic weightlifters look at you in awe. You deadlift 1000 kg (one ton) and gain 5 automatic successes to Strength/ Might rolls and close combat damage dice pools.Mega-Strength (Whenever the nova with this enhancement makes an attack with the Brawl, Martial Arts, or Melee Abilities, she can attempt to knock out her target instead of causing him any actual harm. The “damage” inflicted by the nova with Stunning Blow is calculated normally, but is only valid for the purpose of rendering the target either dazed or unconscious (Aberrant core book, p. 249). If the “damage” inflicted by the nova in a single Stunning Blow attack exceeds the target’s Stamina rating by one, the target is dazed. If the “damage” exceeds the target’s Stamina rating by two or more, the target is rendered unconscious. Novas with Mega-Stamina automatically add (their Mega-Stamina x 2) to their Stamina ratings. The target may also spend temporary Willpower points to increase his Stamina rating on a 1:1 basis. This enhancement can be switched on or off as an automatic action, and costs no quantum points to use.Stunning Blow) •

Hey Shaq,
I am thinking about very few actual powers. Mostly just mega attributes and body modifications. The serpentine legs and torso (constrictor model not viper). Wings and quantum leaping (str) which is almost flight but not quite. Otherwise looking at flexibility (dex), Electromagnetic vision (per) which is kind of like eagle vision mixed with a pit viper's heat vision, & not sure about stamina yet but likely something armor related for the scales.

I've never played aberrant before, is that a problem?
That said, would you mind me re-using a character powerset I had in another superhero game? I've said the phrase "Chemistry is the coolest superpower" too often not to use it.
If not, I've got a cool concept for a dude who creates and subsequently haunts constructs.
I've still got to figure out how I'd stat either of these, but I've got enough time on my hands to figure that out before any deadlines.

Was looking at the book. I was thinking about doing a super smart Matter Creator. Like good enough to make cats and such on the fly.

With Terats, I'd say god complex is almost a certainty. I have several character concepts in mind but unfortunately, none of them revolve around being in a band. Depending on where the game is going to be centered around, here's what I've been toying with:
  • Canada/USA/Mexico: A good ole boy from the South who bounced around different jobs and never amounted to much before he erupted.
  • Europe: A German police detective tortured (almost) to death by goons from the C-Z Megasyndicate.
  • South America: A native from one of the tribes inhabiting the Amazon rainforest.
  • China: A political activist on the run from the government both before and after erupting.
  • Africa: An Elite who briefly flirted with the DeVries Agency but broke his contract to join Teragen.

If it's a globetrotting game then I guess I've got some deciding to do.

I’m at work right now so I could only take a cursory look at the character, but it looks great. I’ll take a closer look when I get back home.

Interestingly, whenever I’ve run or played Aberrant, there are always one or two people who make god-themed character. ��

Assuming this is a Teragen game, you will all likely be playing together as a Teragen cell. With play-by-post, I find that clear cut objectives work better than just letting people meander about to do things. Consequently, I usually do mission-oriented games. My idea is that your cell works on behalf of a powerful, senior Terat, most likely someone in the Pantheon (the Teragen’s closest thing to a ruling body).

Any thoughts? If people would rather engage in a different style of game, I’m open to opinions.
