Festivals of the Goddess:

Winter Solstice: Every year in local town's the Grandmother Winter festival is had. The people of the village choose an older woman to portray this aspect of their goddess and she travels from house to house handing out sweets and treats. At the end there is a feast and the girl who will portray the Daughter of Spring is chosen.

Spring Equinox: The Daughter of Spring, usually a child, sees Grandmother Winter off the stage and people throw items at her as she runs odd then everyone celebrates with a feast. It is considered to be a bad omen if the woman portraying Grandmother Winter must be picked anew because the original did not survive the winter or if the items being thrown are snowballs and not something gentler.

Summer Solstice: The Lady of Summer, usually a young woman of marriageable age, sees the Daughter of Spring off the stage and the village has a feast. Often young people are married at this celebration and older couples celebrate their anniversaries.

Autumn Equinox: The Mother of Autumn, usually a pregnant woman, sees the Lady of Spring off the stage and the village has a feast.
