Thank a bunch. I should have rolled a stealth check to see if Tegan's Passive Perception picked him up along the way. Hmm. I'll let Elanir arbitrate that.

I prioritize narrative over rolls. If you were trying to attack or steal from me it would be different, but I think that's an awesome way for you to join. I think Tegan is potentially that perceptive (+4), but I am always willing for him to be distant enough in this new land and focused enough on his objective to miss those details. Besides, Tegan is pretty green to traveling as well. I don't know how much he would have expected to be followed into the middle of a desert. When you don't expect, you tend to not even look!

Me too! I completely agree with Tommy. Let’s say that Tegan didn’t catch sight of Aric or, if he did, he didn’t suspect that the boy was actually following him.

Yup. I am not a 'check over and over person' and I found myself at lunch refreshing over and over lol.

@Hayar, Don't exclude yourself from the company - you're here for a reason and your post was excellent. I personally have to keep reminding myself... "You wouldn't have been accepted if your writing wasn't enough to make it", but I do believe it (not trying to be cocky, but also not self-deprecating if that makes sense).

@Everyone: I can hardly stress enough how much I have enjoyed your introductory posts - and I am more than certain that Mindsiege’s post will be of similar quality (her posts always are!). You deserve all the RPGXP I can give you - and you will be certainly getting some love from the ol’ DM as soon as I am no longer restricted by site rules (max. of 5 per day).

Aric fainting has provided an excellent opportunity for some bonding between the party members (thank you for that, Noquarter!), so if you want to respond, please go ahead - even if you have already posted. I find the rule of three other players’ posts or one DM post before one is able to post again a good one. If you’d like to wait for me to move things along that’s fine too.

I will be waiting for Mindsiege’s post (no pressure there - posting rate is supposedly once per week, not once per day, but I am still so happy to see you are all so motivated!) before making a major update.

I have decided to nominate Noquarter’s post for PotM, though in my eyes you all deserve this distinction. In any case we have a long road ahead of us and I really want to share your excellent posts with the community so your chances of getting PotM eventually are certainly not bad.

As for our game, all the introductory posts have been nothing short of amazing frankly! But...

Thank you guys so much for your praise, it means the world to me. I have a lot of fun making these characters and seeing how I can breathe life into them. I'm just happy that other people enjoy them too.

In that, we are of a common mind. If any one of you becomes ambitious, this might be a good chance to start writing a collaborative novel. A compilation of everyone's backstory submissions and the opening posts is enough material to form the first three chapters of a new DragonLance Novel.

As far as trinkets, the only thing Aric really has that's small that Talia would likely go for, he has a set of bone dice that he carved himself, and the gem that looks like coal to everyone else (I don't think I put that one on my sheet yet)

I do intend to post again today - probably something a bit smaller when I complete a few tasks. Seeing someone collapse instantly sets off his knighty sense. I plan to allude that Aric looks familiar, but plan to leave it at that. Tegan has seen a lot of humans recently and is more concerned about the collapsing than the recognition.

Yeah, me too. You know Kaylen will be all over easing suffering for her new boy. ;-) But it won't be for hours.

I will try to get something up before Kaylen just because I was intending to use that to tie everyone some of us together. Something akin to:
-Tegan sees Aric, goes to help (honorbound to help those in need)
-Knows that he does not know anything about the climate or sun damage, nor does Tegan have healing magic
-Sees holy symbol of Mishakal on nearby cleric and asks for help
-Is incentivized to assist the cleric for her help in this situation

It just seems like a really organic way to start linking the party together. Good work NoQuarter, we all know this was your secret intention.

Sounds good, Tommy and Hayar. I too think that Aric fainting would certainly trigger the knight and the healer in your characters. Let’s only give Mindsiege a chance to catch up too.

By the way, a Medicine check might reveal the root of the evil… See? It’s being used! (Sooner than I expected)
