Well that wasn't very smart thought the cleric as Killic was sucked into the vortex, If you going to go at least do it in style. A run. A Jump. At least some kind of pose...

Shaking his head Brother Damian turns around and follows the elf back downstairs. He didn't want to disappear too, or go anywhere near that thing until he knew he could safely.

Allan gazed towards the swirling vortex after Killic had entered,a concerned but fascinated look on his face as Ophelia and Damian head back down the stairs. Running a hand over his face, he studies the anomaly in front of him, trying to piece together various knowledge garnered from his years at the academy...

Whilst the Brother wished to investigate further below with Ophelia he couldn't leave what sounded like a sentient being in pain. Turning around he doubled back to where Killic disappeared into the portal to investigate and see if he could aid what he believed to be an injured individual.

The elven woman continues on her course, racing down the flights of stairs towards the bar, intending to go even further down and find the mage's library.

As you hit the bottom stair, the entire building begins to shake and lurch. You almost hear the building scream in pain as the floor above you is literally watch the floor above you get torn from the rest of the building. Shards of wood, nails, and iron reinforcements come raining down on you.

You both manage to dive under tables and when the shaking subsides you pear out from under your wooden fortress. The ceiling, or at least what used to be the ceiling, has mostly vanished and you are staring into the night sky. A large crimson vortex swirls in the skies above your head and in its center you peer into a crystal clear scene. The scene is one of some sort of building site or perhaps a mason or carpenter's workshop. Tables containing saws and various tools can be seen as well as several oddly beautiful yet eerie statue.

It went aganist his better judgment... It wasn't something he'd normally do, but something seemed to want him on the other side of this strange and destructive portal. Turning to Ophelia he said quietly, yet loudly enough to be heard over the destruction around them, "See you on the otherside". He lept into the portal hoping to land in the room he saw through it.

Allan awoke with a grunt in the strange chamber, drawing his hands across his forehead to wipe what he thought was sweat from his face, but upon looking at it,realized it was his blood. He shudders in realization as he looks around the room, finding his staff laying nearby as he grabs it.

Walking around the room, he examines the shadowy objects but as he draws closer, he finds them suddenly covered with draping sheets. Looking around slyly he props his staff aside and wipes his hands semi-clean with the sheets. "Just hope whoever owns this hovel won't notice"

As Allen stands surveying the room, the swirling vortex crackles behind him. Suddenly a bright flash filled the room and a form came hurtling out of it. This formed crashed into one of the tables, toppling it and sending tools everywhere. Brother Damian slowly rises to his feet with groan.

He rises observing several tables sit quietly undisturbed with what appear to be a combination of masonry and carpentry tools lying upon them. Several towering things line the room, although they appear little more than shadowy masses. Suddenly a flash of red fills the room and the shadowy masses turn to large objects draped in sheets. You notice that a staircase on the left hand side of the chamber that leads both up and down.

Groaning from his rather turbelant landing Brother Damian looked up to see Allan. "Seems you faired better on your little trip to wherever we are." he said in his usual neutral tone. "Any idea where this is?" as he scanned the room noticing the staircase on the lefthand side.

Before waiting for an answer he turned round to see if he could see through the portal back to the wrecked inn he had just left, hoping that Ophelia would be able to see him and see it was safe.

The elf continues with her original plan, making her way towards the hidden basement library and the mage working therein. Sooner or later, his expertise would be needed, and she preferred sooner rather than later. Besides, she'd never seen a wizard's laboratory before--they always had such interesting toys.

[Allan and Damian]
Damian turns to survey the portal behind him. A swirling vortex of red energy floats in the sky behind him. However, something is quite odd. A scene of the destroyed inn does not stare back at him instead the building appears to be intact.

[Ophelia]
You cross to the door and it opens with little trouble. You fly down the stairs and are greeted by the dank smell of mold. You turn and observe the area noting something odd indeed. The walls are not wood like the rest of the building but are hewn black stone. Suddenly the door slams behind you and you are left standing in a dimly lit hallway. You hear odd chanting coming from some far off passage.

"It figures!" Drawing her blade, the elf proceeds cautiously down the hallway towards the sound of the chanting.
