Personally, I've deliberately only been closely reading the posts involving my PC, so I'm definitely in the dark, but that's something of a feature.

He could go either way, but all Girgadan is hearing is what's going on down at the gate. The sound is only coming from above where he is because the opening to the top of the wall is right over the stairwell on the third floor.

There is not much for a 1L melee fighter to do here. Bill's a few turns even from javelin range. Deamiss is great - Magic Missile and Shield. Maybe Bill can cheer him on.

So south to find a witness for what happened at the gate and with regards to Olins assassins?

That would give us a direct link to someone in the conspiracy to kill the abbot as everything else seems circumstantial but I might have missed some obvious evidence...

Yeah, I think so. I'm embarrassed that I didn't think to simply search the suspects' rooms, but the NPCs have that in motion. There is some danger to leaving the residents to themselves, but at least the wizard is temporarily out of the picture.

I couldn't figure out who Grotz (sp?) is, so I just moved things along in a way appropriate to Bill. I'm happy to follow another's lead, though.

Perhaps Deamiss could stay back and babysit some naughty monks - he seems hardcore and magically inclined.

Grotz is the gnoll that was let go after he and his pal Gorak tried to kill Olin. Last seen hauling Gorak off as a midnight snack, and there are rumors that he's been stealing poultry from the village since then.

Ah. Well, I'll leave my post as is, but I think the party or some portion of it going to get Grotz is a good idea. Too bad we can't just bring him some photos to choose from.
