Hey everyone! I just wanted to say hi, and thank ryator for accepting me, before I fell into bed.
![]() I'm an Alaskan, about to go back to Washington for my third year of college, where I'm majoring in history/social studies, minoring in Arabic/Islamic relations, and attaining a certification to teach secondary education. I'm pretty active around here through all of that, though, and you can expect to see me online at obscene hours of the day. I'll be playing As a dwarf, you actually lose abilities if your name isn't an alliteration.Rogon Rothrump, the ancient Dwarven Wizard. A lot of Rogon's focus is in Transmutation, with his opposing schools being Necromancy and Divination. This will also be my first time actually playing a Wizard, so I'll be learning a bit with it. ![]() Ummm... Some of my other game qualifications? I'm in several games, mostly 4e, but some 3.5 and Pathfinder as well. I'm also running a 4e Dark Sun game, which is progressing along nicely. I've been considering opening another game to run, but we'll see how my schedule looks between this new game and my university schedule, as well as finding a job... ![]()

Greetings Frodiddly, and welcome! I'm on eastern standard time, in the Washington D.C./Baltimore area; happy to meet you, and good luck in the job search!
For me - I'm a father of 2 and I own and run my own business in the construction industry. I'm playing in one game and DMing a handful. I enjoy the writing aspect of the game much more than mechanics...figure that those are a means to an end. |

Hello all!
I'm from the midwest and am currently jobless ... which means lots of free time to post. :P I was fairly active on here a few years ago when I was in college, but after that I had to drop it off due to working at a lab / graduate school / job stuff when I had a job. I've run 3.5 and 4e campaigns, but don't get to play anywhere near as much as I'd like. For playing I enjoy making optimized characters, and I enjoy seeing stories and and characters develop over time. I've been wanting to play a sorcerer in pathfinder for a while, and I was really interested in this module when it came out ... so ... excited. ![]() |

Ello all. Thank you ryator for hosting this game, and here goes MY introduction!
I'm from Tenesee, and I'm currently living there for a short while due to business, but I'll be back to maryland soon enough, which is where I usually live. I'm a programmer, and I program. XKCD gives a pretty accurate representation of the profession. I'm playing both John Travish, summoner, and Maria White, eidolon. John's focus is very much mostly a supporting role, and damn is he built for it. He is getting mostly all of the utility and buff spells, with a few damage spells, from the summoner spell list, which is perfect for a supporting role. John can speak seven languages, his bluff check is overpowered, he can give quite the stand-up comedy, and he is a master gambler. His charisma modifier is also through the roof. Sadly, he can take a hit about as well as a sandwich can take water. He does have some damage, however, in the form of pistols. Maria is the smashy one of the duo. She focuses on combat. Not much to say, really. She will provide some utility through evolutions, but I am limited somewhat due to RP factors. My game qualifications? I've been in multiple games, mostly 3.5e. This is my first pathfinder game, and it's really been a smooth transition from 3.5 so far. I've DM'd one game, but it had a unfortunate end sadly. Let's have fuuuuun! P.S. I personally like both the writing and the mechanics. Nothing quite like the thrill of rolling (or in this case, typing) that d20, not sure if you'll fail miserably, manage to only hit the guy, or manage to blow his head clean off.

S'a nice state, isn't it?
Good news, everyone! Neither John or Maria are going to start to adventure with a major hangover! Edit: I think I know too many languages.

Hello, I'm a single male (my forum handle might be considered unisex by those who don't get the reference) from Ontario, also currently unemployed.
My character is a gnome witch with a goat familiar, so I can't be losing any marks for originality. ![]() ![]() I'm currently running a Mutants and Masterminds 2e game, and playing in another, while also playing a few Pathfinder games. Pathfinder actually managed to get me interested in roleplaying again after a long absence. I like all facets of the game, and so often end up with characters that are muddled messes because they try so hard to succeed in too many areas. ![]() ![]()

Greetings GrazztTheDark, and welcome!
Grazzt was a demon of some sort in an old D&D novel, wasn't he? Seconded on the suck-warning; let's all make an agreement to not be shy and tell each other...albeit privately...if we suck, so that we can fix it. |

I decided to specalize a bit more with John then I have with my other characters. Being a summoner really helps with the whole "want to succeed in skills and RP, but still dont want to suffer fighting wise" issue you and I both suffer Grazzzzt. John is extremely useful in anything that requires a knowledge(plans, politics) role, or any cha roles, but as a result he's about as strong as a wet tissue. Ergo, Maria is built with a spear in mind to keep the bad guys from chewing off his face.
I'm planning on getting the Large evolution as soon as possible, for hilarity and effectiveness. It stacks with enlarge person. Fun times. It sucks I have to wait until level 8 to get it ,though.

@All players - if you could, please begin looking for an image for your character. I use these in creating tokens to use on battle maps when needed. If you don't feel like it, just let me know and I'll use something generic. Thanks!

Yep, got it in one. He still pops up in D&D supplements as one of the big three of the Abyss (the other two are Demogorgon and Orcus).
As for pictures, it's hard to find a decent one of a gnome, without looking like a Travelocity commercial. This pic of Redlance from Elfquest is okay, though, and the Elfquest version of elves are a smaller race for the most part so it fits reasonably well. Do you want it cut into a certain size, or will you do that yourself?

Well, here are the best I could dig up. I'm planning on getting ones more representative of actual looks drawn by artist friends, but for now, these are close enough.
P.S. Maria's evolution path for those curious

Hello! I just woke up, so if I make no sense, I apologize. You can call me Acid, and I'm also from Tennessee, though I've lived here all my life. I'm a 20 year old female gamer currently unemployed and taking a break from funeral school (yes, you heard me right). So...I have a lot of free time on my hands. I'm an artist, so those in my party can expect some fanart at some point in time, if permission is given.
![]() I've been playing dnd since I was about 10, my first games being solo ones run by my dad. I grew up reading his old AD&D monster manual, which is also one of the things I learned to draw from. I've been in larger groups since I was 14, and am usually the youngest in my group, no matter what game I'm playing. It just seems to happen that I play better with people a bit older than me (maybe it's because I don't tolerate petty arguments at the table, which my age group seems revel in). I've been playing/running Pathfinder since shortly after it came out. I'm currently in another game on the Paizo boards, and just started running PBP games for the first time. I'm run table top and over skype before (though none of those games got that far due to either me having skype issues or my players having scheduling issues. I've been told I'm good though, if that's worth anything), but never PBP, so it's a lesson in cranking out tons and tons of descriptive text. Fun times, fun times. I'll be playing Shara Zeldaan, a chaotic good female cleric of Desna and adoptive daughter of Koya. If there were psychiatrists in Golarion, she'd probably be classified as having ADHD, due to both her lack of ability to focus on one thing and the sheer amount of energy she has. Despite that, she's caring, empathic, and truly wants to help people. I can foresee her having slight issues with the relationship part of the game, as she's not the type that's particularly good at focusing on building up existing relationships. This character is a bit of a change for me, since lately I've tended to play characters that for some reason end up being narcissists. I blame my abnormal psychology textbook and my love for playing characters that aren't necessarily awesome people. I love me some flaws. Shara has the Travel and Good domains, and will probably focus on channeling, as I'm used to being the group band-aid. I'd like to invite people to look my sheet over once I post it and let me know if anything seems particularly bad. Optimizing my characters is not something I'm good at. I'll see if I can't whip up a picture of Shara today. If it turns out I can't do it that quickly, I'll just find some other picture to use. |
