"Wilfred" pops back in as he still is looking around for something to light the way ahead while staying close to the group so they can hear his question. "I meant to ask; I heard you talk of the owners who last lived here and how they went crazy or something long those lines. Was wondering if after we parted the other day if you checked up on that at all. I had a feeling you were going to though I also know time was short and you most likely couldn't find the time.."

"Afraid not," Derek says. He turns to Wilfred and grins. "It's on my to do list though, once I'm finished with this. I must confess I am curious as to what could drive two people mad at the same time. Seems odd to me."

"Wilfred" looks back at Derek with a smile at his curiosity, thinking about how Derek was a man after his own heart.
"Agreed Derek. There's something "off" about this case that I can't quite put my finger on it. I don't know if it's all these crosses or just the feel of a place like this but something gives me a eerie chill."

"Yes," Said Derek, nodding and looking around before returning his attention to Wilfred and smiling again. "I rather like it."

"Well if I can ever find this light then I'm sure you'll be all too thrilled to see what horror lay in the kitchen of a place like this. I'm expecting anything at this point."
Laughing slightly to the others. Thinking of how with each moment we were indeed selling this house, though perhaps not to the buyer we once thought we were.

Prelude:@ the library-
Oh, my name is Mina good sir. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- As James flips through the Bible a small piece of paper flutters out. Scribble on it is "Chapel of Contemplation and Church of Our Lord Granter of Secrets." Curiously it seems that there was further writing on the paper that had been torn off. The cross itself is normal except for being bent. With little effort one would be able to right it if they desired. Wilfred manages to find and light an oil lamp that hidden amidst some of the clutter in the room. As he leads the way he notices the home is furnished with gas lighting and is able light the one in hallway. A quick glance to the right shows him two more rooms adjacent to the kitchen in front them and there two two other doors down the hall that closed on the side they entered from. The kitchen itself is normal. There are cabinets which were left open. All the common cooking requirements of a normal home were found to be intact albeit frozen in time. A half empty bottle of wine sat on the counter and produce that had been chewed by rodents rotted on the floor. The open cabinets reveal a few food items left behind. To the right is the entrance to the dining the smell of rotting food wafts through the open door. --------------------------------------- @Thaco- Give yourself credit for a successful use of spot. Also I'll just assume you turn the lights on as you go to each room. |

Derek makes a disgusted noise as the smell hits him. "Gentlemen, might i suggested we open a window and dispose of that refuse before doing anything else. were are expected here to be here for some time."

"Och, good idea! Here, you might want to copy this down into yer wee book." James says, handing Derek the torn note he found in the bible. He puts the bible and the bent cross down in the kitchen table then move to the window, unsnibbing it and lifting it wide. The wood groans with complaint as it opens, but the breath of fresh air that floods into the room is welcome.
"Aye, much better" James grins, then he lifts the bottle of wine, removing the cork to sniff cautiously at the contents. |

Derek reads the verse aloud, unsure of what it means. He does copy it down in his book, and also takes the bible to read through later in hopes of deciphering the clue.

"Doesn't sound like a normal bible. Then again with this place I think we left normal at the door."
Taking in the fresh air from outside a thought strikes Wilfred. "Say, since we might be here a while, what would you two say to help the good Mr. Prooms out a little more? I imagine the reason this house needs such work done to make it look more... "presentable", is the Mr. Prooms hasn't been feeling oh so well. Thus look as we are here we could try cleaning the place up. Might help make the stay more bearable and might even get paid by Mr. Prooms even more so."

Joking around with Derek a little more as the group is looking around.
"Gonna be hard for any ghosts or goblins to be scarier then the dust bunnies we'll be seeing round this place."

James stands thunderstruck for a moment. " Are ye joking? Ye want to….clean?". James' smile grows bold.
"Oh by all means Gentlemen, if ye wish to clean, then dinnae let me stop ye." Deciding against the wine, James puts the bottle back where it came from and throws open the door to the dining room. |

The dining room isn't in much better shape than the first the part of the house. A pot on the table is the source of the smell containing a half eaten piece of boiled meat. It was a scene of a meal interrupted halfway through. Some cans of opened beans were left on the floor under the table and the chairs were left pulled out.

"Gonna have our work cut out for us cleaning this place up. Let's just hope there isn't anymore rooms with food sitting out."
Wilfred clearly grossed out by such refuse, goes ahead and starts to clean up the mess best he can to make the room smell better and to be more liveable. "You two find anything else of interest yet?"
